i just wanted to say that I LOVE Sam Roberts & Taylor together. He challanges her and keeps her on her toes and I think she works harder & actually preps for the show now. He doesn't let her slide or laugh things off, and its so refreshing. Don't get me wrong, i love Kenny, but he gives into her way too much....maybe Sam should be the 3rd muskateer?

I don't necessarily dislike the idea (I think he can be funny and like that it doesn't let Taylor get away with much but I don't particularly like him) but I don't really know why he would. He already has his own show that clearly has an audience. It might be silly but my bigger concern would be a mass migration of his current listeners to Wake Up if that happened. O and A have seriously loyal fans (my dad has been listening since the 90s when they were on regular radio in NY and purchased XM specifically for them years ago) and I assume (but ya know what happens when you assume so maybe I'm totally off here) they would follow Sam, too. It's a very...different audience.

But who the hell knows, maybe Sam wants to expand his listener base and maybe it would be a great thing.

I've never heard then togeather, or discuss each other. If I were Kenny though and reading this or the FB page, I would feel bad that everyone loves Sam & Tay togeather so much. It would be hard to not feel some jealousy.

I had that feeling one time when Kenny was back for a couple of days after Sam had co-hosted. There was an underlying tone that I took to come from Tay complaining or venting to Kenny about how hard on her Sam was. Of course there could be more and he may not like him for other reasons. But there was a comment about that, I wish I could remember what it was exactly that was said.

I get the vibes that kenny and sam do not care for each other, they both throw shade toward each other. Sam comes from "man" radio where it is all about mocking and putting each other down and Kenny has said he does not like that, the arguments for arguments sake style.

Kenny and Sam....talk about as different as different can be. But imagine if we could combine the two! Now that may just be the perfect man! lol! Ooh and add Patrick's looks and we'd have a triple threat!

There was definite contention when Kenny was back for those couple days...Remember Kenny told Tay, basically, not to let someone who just got a show tell her how to run hers? I forget exactly what Sam had said to her about the show though...

I think it had to do with her prepping and/or the 7 things. But he does often make comments about being to nice to callers. He definitely comes from a more cut throat style of radio and they are easier to hang up on callers and to make fun of them. Patrick was that way to a degree. I know there are comments made by Tay and Kenny here and there about callers, but for the most part they are gentle lol

As I was reading the other thread (about different hosts and who T is challenged by, etc) I was thinking about how much we all seem to like Kenny and how awful I would feel if he got the wrong impression from reading this. I, for one, think there have been so many shows over the past where, when T and K have actually gotten their 'groove on', they have been so incredibly awesome. Kenny is just friggin' HILARIOUS (sorry, I tend to use caps a lot when I want to make a point) and while I do think Taylor railroads him, if you listen carefully, he makes a ton of jokes in the background out of what she is saying. It's those times I am driving down the street laughing in my car and I'm sure people are wondering what is wrong with me! I do think they are really funny together...they just need to quit talking about Taylor's same s*it all the time!!

I think you're spot on!! Those sly comments are my fave part of the show I think he should demand to talk more but I feel that he'd rather not bother fighting for airtime. But she doesn't let him speak enough, just so she can tell the same stories. It has been more noticeable as K baby got closer to arriving 👶🏼 if the convo was a little more balanced I think the show would be back on track

I really liked Sam the first couple of times he was on. It was a nice change to hear someone challenge Tay. Having said that though, I miss hearing Kenny. He would have me in tears from laughing so hard and it was a great way to start my day.

I think between Kenny wanting to be supportive while Tay has been going through everything (agreeing with her all the time) along with the stress of preparing for the new baby the show seemed a bit flat. I have no doubt we'll have the old Kenny back soon and I can't wait!

I listened to Sam a few days ago when he had Nicole on. They were both crapping on paternity leave. Found it interesting since Sam is clearly only on WU right now bc Kenny is on paternity leave and Nicole obviously knows he's taking it too. Almost made me think Taylor has been bitching about it behind the scenes or else I think Nicole would've stuck up for it a little more than she did.

Sketchy! I wonder how Tay felt about it. Poor Kenny! He's probably at home, reading these boards and wishing he was back at work already.

I definitely heard that too and meant to mention it here. It was obvious to any Wake Up listener that Kenny was at least the inspiration for the topic. It's probably still on demand.

When Sam co hosted the other day he said something like "yeah Kenny, out of sight out of mind." Tay responded "I'm just going to brush right past that..." Better watch it... Kenny is a lot smarter and has a much quicker wit than Sam.

I caught that too! What the hell?! I can't help but think Tay is talkign crap behind Kenny's back. But who knows. Obviously Sam's ego is HUGE and of course he's going to think he's better than Kenny. (Nobody wil ever beat Kenny, in m opinion.)

I've been creeping on here for quite some time so I decided to join today after reading this. Why in the world is Taylor getting the blame for something SAM AND NICOLE SAID?!? Obviously they can have their own thoughts on paternity leave because they are filling in for someone who is out on paternity leave, but it does not mean Taylor is talking badly about Kenny. That is a huge assumption...maybe we should have a board on here called Assumptions (and you know what they say about those!)

I don't blame Tay for anything Nicole and Sam said. It just got me thinking she might not be so thrilled Kenny is out. even if she agrees with paternity leave/his time off and shouts it from the rooftop everyday, I bet it's hard not having her cohost/"sidekick" that she gels/communicates so easily with. I know if I worked as closely as the two of them. Obviously Sam loves stirring the pot and was probably doing just that, knowing he's gained listeners from WUWT. Also, this page has a TON of assumptions. It's basically the whole reason it was created (I.e assuming who/what Tay was talking about during the divorce). There's an entire subtopic category called conspiracy theories... Check it out if you haven't already, gal.

I agree with this! It's hard if co-workers leave for weeks at a time. I don't think she is bitter, probably just everyday complaints we all have, Sam is just an ass an brings private stuff out on air.

Am I the only one who llikes Sam? I think Taylor is at her best when he co-hosts. He's my favorite fill-in. He keeps it interesting and moving.

I love Sam! And I love them together. He keeps her on her toes, and challenges her, and she brings her A-game when he is there. You can almost feel that the air is charged. Sadly, just her and Kenny together have become stale, because it's just passive radio between them at this point, which is so boring. I feel like the energy isn't there with Kenny anymore. I think he's bored, maybe one reason is because he can't disagree with her on topics/issues or she throws a fit. Actually, I've liked all of her temporary co-hosts I think, because they bring a different, more entertaining dynamic. The only thing i haven't liked about it is Taylor recounting all of her old stories for them (boring for a long time listener).

I like Sam! I agree he's been great with Taylor and I think he's one of my favorites (tied with Wider). I still think he's a pot stirrer, but it works with the show.

I like her with Sam to a point.... I think Taylor tries so much harder to be a better host, be informed, share in dialogue (not just her dominating the radio)
However she seems to be meaner imo when he's on....and they kind of fuel that in each other.... Kenny can reel her in or phrases things that make her realize how ridiculous some of her statements are..... Example: when they were talking about the documentary "Hot girls wanted"...Taylor saying those girls knew what they were getting into with the rough sex/gag scenes and Kenny found a way to get her to see that it was essentially rape......

If they could add a third on air host or a rotating 3rd host that would be amazing!

I actually think Taylor is her best (out of all the fill in hosts) with Dr. Weider......I would love love love if Weider got her own radio show!!!!!!!!!!!
