Question about internet safety

Hello. I have heard many times that visiting the internet is not safe, because my browser goes to a site and leaves certain information there. Is this really true? What kind of information does it leave?

Re: Question about internet safety

As far as I know, the main thing that is revealed about you when you go online is your IP address. And it can be used to find out where you are from.

Re: Question about internet safety

It's not that simple. Yes, the browser gives you your IP. It also tells you what city you live in. But that's not all! You can get information about your operating system as well. And yes, what browser you're using - that's visible too! There are other details that compromise your anonymity online. You can learn about them with Pixelscan: https://gobrowser.com/pixelscan/ . It will show you at a glance what information about you is being disclosed and you can decide whether you are happy with it or whether you need to take some privacy measures.
