Re: Crying on air

Another theory:

Upon walking into Sirius this morning, Nicole came in and threw $50 at Tay (from money she borrowed getting nails done/hair did for Lauren's wedding).

LOL!

Do you think that was about Nicole? I don't see her as hounding for money.

Re: Crying on air

After listening to the rest of the morning, it must not have been anything too serious because she kept it together the rest of the morning and was her usual neurotic, going off on ridiculous things self.  This has been fun though! lol!

Re: Crying on air

I listened. something caught her and also Kenny off guard.  so sweet how Kenny responded to her. hey tay, turn that frown upside down.  I know the first segment on my xm receiver normally goes for 30-40 minutes and this morning it was only 9 minutes and some change.  good save though.

I agree- if it was something really serious like a death/illness of someone close, I doubt she would have even come to work.

But if its just friend stuff, which probably would have had to happen by last night since I doubt any of her other friends would be up early enough to talk to her before the show, I would think she could have pulled it together by this morning and at least gotten through the show without breaking down. So while I don't really think its Nicole, I feel like whatever happened had to be pretty fresh for Tay to break down like that on air so maybe it was something with her right before the snow.

Side note: I wonder if any of the IC Hoes/Nicole read this page?

I might be from the Sunshine State, but I can still be a little shady.🌴

Wakeupfan420, totally with you on the Cuba thing. "I'm not giver, I'm a TAKER", etc, etc. She is human garbage.

Just the way she described the scenario to Robert yesterday. She said that she was footing the bill for something that someone was using until a specified date, and then that person was responsible for the cost, but was refusing to pay. She said she told the person she's talking to, "you're a good negotiator, so I'm sure you can work it out". I'm assuming this person is Brett(she's always talked about his negotiation skills).
This is pure speculation on my part. I'm just reading between the lines, but I could be way off base.

Totally!!  I heard her mention before that they got the SoHo house membership because of her career and she got the membership in the divorce settlement.  But it sounds like she let B use it for the rest 2015, the year they got divorced.  He must have received some kind of member benefits and Tay's account was later charged as if he was a non-member since they're divorced.  He better pay for that sh!t!

Yeah, she was definitely crying, and she stopped talking, and kenny tried unsuccessfully to fill the air time, and then she said let's take a break.
Why would he even ask her how she was doing on air when he obviously knew that she was upset.

even tho he already knew, I think it just caught him off guard, I guess

Re: Crying on air

On a side note, I was frustrated with Taylor that she wouldn't stand up for herself when she was giving her friend the $, and just say, I'll subtract the $50 that you owe me. I feel like that's just letting someone walk over you.

Thanks! I was actually referring to where she spoke about footing the bill.

Found a wedding blog that has pics from the wedding (seriously, so gorgeous) and it was def. the girl Jayme who asked for the money, based on the picture of the girls and the hair involved!

Re: Crying on air

Who asked for money and for what? Can you fill me in please? I listened this morning and I felt bad for Kenny. I don't think he realized that something was wrong when he first asked.  Taylor seemed fine  during the 7 things. It seemed like something happened right after the 7 things. I'm going to listen again though.

A bunch of women were getting ready for a wedding and one had her hair and makeup done, but then didn't have cash (assumed she could use a card) to pay. She borrowed $50 from Taylor, and never paid her back. Taylor never asked for it.

Then there was a group dinner and Taylor had to leave early for a meeting. She said to same woman, can you cover my portion and I'll repay you? It wound up being $90 (sounds like Tay only had an app, but then had to split the whole meal) and the woman kept harassing her for the money. Taylor finally gave her the $90, Robert brought up that she should have just given her $40 and called it a day.

Re: Crying on air

I didn't listen to yesterday's show. Do we know it's because of the Soho house thing? She always said she was the one with the membership, not Brett. I'm sure he still paid for it though. Anyway, I thought maybe she finally got her taxes done. I'm not sure how divorce settlements work, but if she got a huge chunk of money, could that be taxed? Plus if she got a big sign on bonus for something like Radio in the City, that would have tax implications too. Maybe she found out that she owes the government a shit ton of money.

Divorce money isn't taxed as it was taxed when earned.

Re: Crying on air

I don't think the SOHO house made her cry. but it think it's a solid theory on the lawsuit she may get in with "someone" from the convo with Verdi.

Re: Crying on air

I do think some alimony is taxable because it has to be claimed as income. I suppose it depends on their prenup terms. https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc452.html

Anyway, I also think the lawsuit possibility is something that could make her cry. But then again I bet a Soho house membership debacle would just piss her off and cause her to go on a rant.

Ah I haven't listened but a lawsuit might make sense considering she was told she can't bash brands on air.

Re: Crying on air

Yep, at a federal level alimony is taxable, child support is not however (I think). States could vary on this though.

I agree I think it has something to do w/taxes, timing would be right and sometimes things like this catch people by surprise!

Yes alimony I didn't think a lump sum payout was though. Guess I got that one wrong.

Re: Crying on air

If there's going to be a lawsuit about on-air conversations, it should be about Tay saying what happened to Erin Andrews is ok because there was money awarded. She would walk around Sirius naked for 55mil? She fails to see the difference here, that would be her choice. Erin did not have a choice. I could go on and on and on and on about this, but Tay is really fucking insensitive. Her life has been (mostly) perfect and everything handed to her on a silver fucking platter. (and honestly, she can't even claim the divorce was a hardship at this point, because of how often she says otherwise.)

Netflix has a documentary about divorce and the attorneys that profit so much from it and it explains how you want excessive child support instead of alimony because of tax reasons! it is really interesting, apparently in New Jersey (could be an old law that had been changed) you could get alimony for your whole life even if just married for like 1 year.  in.fucking.sane.

Re: Crying on air

I do think lump sum payments may have different rules than maintenance payments. But I read that the "giver" of the money could somehow finagle it to be tax deductible, which means the receiver would need to claim it on their taxes. Obvi, we don't know all the intricacies. Yet it seems like Brett would be business savvy enough to make it tax deductible on his end, and Taylor would be clueless enough to not realize she would owe taxes on it. It's just a theory. But I know I would be crying if I owed tens of thousands in taxes without planning for it.

If we didn't owe $10k instead of getting $10k back, I'd bet it all on this!  She's def not that smart or savvy!

On a related note, I wonder if she knows she has to claim any money she's made off that video, all the affiliate links through her website, etc...
