Taylor spends so much time talking about what she is going to talk about that she never actually has time to talk about anything. It's exhausting.
Yesterday she teased a topic regarding a friend of hers who got broken up with over an issue that makes her think he's an asshole. I was really curious, and then she never got to it. This happens all the time, and here we are today, talking about plus size issues AGAIN.

I feel like this issue falls in the hands of Katie. It's the producers job to "direct" the show where to go, and I think Katie has too much of a hands off approach to making sure topics are discussed when teased or not repeated again for the 27393928 time. I think that's a reason Taylor loves her so much because she doesn't butt in on what Taylor wants to talk about. I have a feeling Stef interjected a lot more which may be a reason there was some tension between them. It's like they don't realize that because of on demand, people listen to the ENTIRE show EVERY DAY. Radio used to entail catching their audience for maybe an hour or so at a time during the day- that isn't the case anymore. It's so frustrating to hear the same crap over and over again.

Completely agree. David does such a good job producing DSF, but Jenny also realizes that listeners don't want to hear repeat stories or topics.

This is exactly why she lost me, I'm over listening to three hours of empty content. Finally, after a decade they're putting the most minuscule of efforts into "reaching out" to their fans. (By hiring out the work, i.e. Another half-assed website, sometimes weekly blog) Too little, too late, in my opinion. I'm just not even interested anymore. There is so much amazing FREE content from people who work their ass off and have similar interests and values to me, I can't even justify losing brain cells listening to her drivel on the reg anymore.

Amen. Katie seems to not want to put pressure on Taylor. Taylor hates when people disagree and takes it personally (and loves Katie for letting her get away with whatever), but pushback is what Taylor needs, because as we have all seen, she is kind of lazy.

My point, all along, has been that other hosts like Jenny, Howard, Sandra Bernhard, Andy Cohen, etc. have rich life experiences to draw upon. They've lived interesting lives and have great stories. So while Jenny knows that listeners want to hear new stories, she HAS them to draw upon. What can Taylor talk about? Shopping, drinking in bars, hanging out in her apartment watching tv? That's why her go-to is always the old high school boyfriend stories, her virginal parents and her ex-inlaws. I'm sure Cosmo radio thought she would bring a young, fresh perspective to the radio but, as we've seen, it's short-sighted to have an inexperienced (and woefully uninterested in changing that) host have a 3 hour show to fill everyday.

I agree with a lot of this. I do think Taylor is not bad if she is well directed, though. There was a time where I enjoyed the show and her (for the most part). I feel like it's hard to say if it is coming from the fact that she doesn't have that much money after the divorce, her not wanting to share as much, or the new production, but she seems to be experiencing very little lately. Probably a combo...
It drives me crazy that she expects to not share as much AND she doesn't prep, though. You can't have it both ways. If you want to keep your life, private, then that's your choice, but then you need to do research and prep the show. This is why I stopped listening. She used to at least have interesting stories for sheer entertainment, but not really any more. As others have said, too much free content that I will actually gain something from.

She did it well the first few years, dating, city life, being engaged, wedding planning, newlywed. Part way through the marriage, it just sort of petered out. People who have come along with her, are at a different place in their lives, younger listeners I don't see relating. I can see new people tuning in really enjoying it, because the stories repeat regularly though, they'll soon tune out.
There are so many things she could draw on from everyday life being single now, without getting crazy personal. New restaurants, dating, meals, tv, work out plans, decorating, shopping on a budget, actually interviewing guests and not peppering the whole segment with your own retold stories.
Even Jenny Hutt who talks about very little (she repeats every word three times and 90% of the show is about her dogs and kids) is more re entertaining because while the topics are always he same, it's always a story from what happened to her in the last few days.
I used to be so annoyed when I missed a show and would listen on demand when I had a chance, couldn't tell you the last time I listened on there. I always start with them in the morning (I'm in the car at 7 and stars is on from one of the Jenny's the night before) but more and more often I'm switching over to Opie or Andy when I'm bored or a commercial and less often do I switch back.
I wonder if it's true that Xm doesn't track ratings? I wonder what would happen if they did? Maybe there is a really strong following there? From those who comment on social media though, there doesn't seem to be.

Yeah, I was on vaca last week and instead of 30 hours of nonsense, I caught up on here in a couple of hours all the highlights I needed! To me the show is a bit of a trainwreck, I can't look away! I do think their days are numbered and its only a matter of time before the next Jenny or Maria comes along and wants the morning shift.
There have got to be some ratings somewhere. That's just stupid if they're not.

This is why I had to stop listening to J Hutt. I could get into some of her topics, but couldn't take the repeating or not listening to callers! I'm thinking about trying it again though...

I can't listen to Jenny Hutt anymore. I used to find her grating, but liked some of the topics, but since she got her new dog, she's intolerable. There is nothing more boring to me than when someone goes on and on about their pets. No one cares but you.

I usually only hear her Tuesday nights and she has Wider on while I'm in the car. Jenny already knows everything (YupYupYup) Wider has to say, but I find she discusss things more in depth then on WUWT.

Jenny Hutt is bright and relatable. She is married, has kids, is into eating healthy and working out. She can actually have an intelligent conversation . Taylor can not.

This is so sad to admit...but when faced with the option of listening to OnDemand or the Frozen channel on Pandora last night for my 30 minute drive somewhere, I actually picked the option of singing to the kids' tunes instead. I felt like I already knew what T and K would mostly jabber on about (I definitely could predict the 7 Things!) so it was a nice break to revisit some of my favorite Disney movie tunes!!!
