I'd be excited for her if this were something that fit with her "brand" - what is her brand??? - but she's shit on award shows in the past, so it just seems really obviously the result of ass-kissing, not the result of hard work towards a goal she's been aiming for. I mean, I'm not a completely horrible person. The Miami food and wine show thing was good for her, I thought. That made sense. That's more in line with her experience. This is not her target audience.

soanyways, I'm not gonna disparage just cause it might seems she's getting  lot for doing little, if one agrees with that.  I've worked hard for years and have been passed over or shown little favor but I'm fine.  then there are those around me I am convinced will never learn even the amount of stuff I've already forgotten. but it's ok.  I dont' brown tongue, work on my knees or anything like that and I lack BIG contacts.  maybe I'd be further if I did.  I've got a friend who overnight became a multimillionaire and I'm happy for her. I bet you can work circles around some of the people around you and I don't even know you. I don't know, other than fashion, what is incorporated in taylor's brand but honestly, who would turn down any red carpet.  I know I wouldn't and I don't even like red that much and have noooooooooooooooo brand at all.

Lydia, I'm sure there will be a video of her on her  instagram but I sure would love to see it live if I knew what time or if it was even going to be professionally shot.  she'll be a bystander on the red carpet?

She's not. Shopping at Zara doesn't not make you a fashion expert. Sorry. I love Zara but I buy basics and wear jeans, tees, and jacket on the reg. I don't consider myself a fashionista but I know who IS. She is not. Her clothing choices don't flatter her and she makes no real effort to insta her outfits or whatever. And when she does post, eh. Not my cup of tea. She doesn't offer any new insight on clothes or makeup or styling. I'd rather watch stassi. Girl has got it together and she is done up everyday. Yes it's liberating to not wear makeup or do your hair, but people who are famous, DO and they try!!! Taylor doesn't try at all. Hopefully she wears makeup.

But besides that, she doesn't follow pop culture beyond the kardashians and the housewives. She doesn't do research either so how will she be on the red carpet interviewing people?????

Wakeupfan and JaneBleeb, agreed, she is not a fashionista. I think she could be, and probably genuinely loves shopping, and clothing, but because she doesn't embrace her body type, she lacks the confidence and skill to style herself correctly. I think access to the money she used to have allowed her to aspire to be a fashionista, and she was surrounded by a set of people of similar means who worshiped at the altar of designer brands - but that does not a fashionista make. I think if she learned to embrace her body type, it would go a long way, but that's a hard thing to do when you've wanted to be an Olsen twin your entire life.

No, he's the young kid that put together the wakeup website (and has dropped by here for feedback).

He seems really sweet on this board anyway. Id hate for his feelings to be hurt by implying people use him for his dad.  I'm sure he's a fun guy to hang out with.

I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he knows his dad's connections are a huge asset to him and people are going to use him for them or he would've chosen a different field and not the same one his father is in

I felt like she was /is keeping it private. She's been talking about going to LA for a bit and then just quickly and with little detail mentioned why. I don't get why she wouldn't share it, it's part of her professional life.

I think she got labeled as a fashionista when WUWT was a Cosmo-branded channel AND when her life was filled with more money than sense. The two worlds collided and suddenly she was not only attending tons of Cosmo-related events (i.e. Fashion Weeks) but she had tons of disposable income, weekends in the Hamptons, nightly dinners out, and was always being seen. I remember her definitely dressing better and people used to compliment her on her choices. (I just wish she'd do something with her HAIR... she would look so adorable with even a tiny change. Bangs. Cut it a little bit shorter. A lot shorter like a bob. Anything except the long, stringy mop.)
So she is a SELF-APPOINTED fashionista who has (in her head) decided that the listeners will buy her old clothes, and if she makes a 'gift list' we will flock like lemmings to pick her same choices. Not.
(Side note: Remember when she hosted the event with the bachelors from every state -- and T really was struggling because she was married during those events??? That was SO HARD for her!!)

Anyway, that's the history I remember...
