This show, ugh I just can't, it's not the same. I've tried to get back into it but it's been so boring. Am I being hard on it or are other feeling the same way? It definitely feels like the expiration date is quickly approaching but I hate to be so negative
Funny you should ask...I was going to start a thread called, "Are you still listening? If so..why/why not?" Here's why:
My husband walked in on me listening to on demand while I was getting ready the other day and said, "I thought you said you weren't going to listen anymore?" which is true. I am/was done with the show...I think. I was already frustrated and when Kenny left, most of my love left. Then, I didn't listen the week of T2 Goddess vacation (why bother) and I only listened Housewives week to Countess. I don't watch the Housewives at all but when RHONY first came on, I did watch their first season, so I sort of knew of her. That brought me to giving 'Comedy/Therapy/Back to School Week' a chance. I got pretty excited because that one week of random co-hosts (I skipped mentioning that) after Kenny left had a couple of people that I thought were funny...and can I say, a few of those ladies were WAY funnier than the ones during COMEDY WEEK??? I swear, (just my opinion, obviously) there were a few days that I didn't listen to most of the show completely because the 'comedian' was the most boooooring person on there.
THEN, someone on here (too lazy to look back) wrote that they weren't writing on here as much AND made the observation (which a few others agreed with) that the board had less posts because of negativity. (I don't agree that there are less posts because of the negativity but again, just my opinion...)
That also got me thinking again....why am I still listening if/when I do?? Negativity was NOT the reason why I wasn't posting....I wasn't posting because I didn't listen for almost 3 weeks. I wanted to at least know a little about what was going on. (I found a few new podcasts I liked in the meantime, and I love Stassi even more after listening to her more regularly than in the past!)
So now I am back again to finally asking myself, "Why are you still listening?"
Well, I certainly don't listen daily like I used to. I hate that it's a crapshoot as to who will be the co-host. I'm sick of the same 'games' that don't transfer to an audio-medium like radio (ie. eating stuff, them looking at stuff on their computers and laughing, pin the ring on the hand); games that are just plain old ('toof talk'), etc. The 'revolving host door' has been good and bad. Good in that Taylor can seem happier at times (almost more lively?) but after listening almost 9 years, we are now getting her repeated stories daily, in snippets, with every new co-host, and some are changing and embellished (which makes you wonder which are real/not real). And...each day I find myself listening (ie. paying attention) LESS....
Bottom line is I think I'm still listening so I have a little bit to talk about with my 'friends' here!! But that's all. I have no plans to watch a reality show if it would actually happen; I'd pay for a Goddess Girls Getaway with all of you (without T2 and CR) in a NY minute; and I hope that no matter what happens to the show, we can hang in there over some other common 'something' we all listen to or watch because I do believe the show is on it's way out...but I don't want us to end! (I no longer will be sad if the show ends but I will be sad if we do!)
Sorry this is so long....but I've been pondering 'Why do I listen?" for several weeks now and finally had time to express it! Thanks for reading (if you did!)

Well said, FKCSMom! I check here and if it sounds like something worth listening to that day, I'll see if I can find it. Admittedly, I don't look too hard though!
I don't listen live anymore. I've been a faithful listener since practically day one but just don't find it compelling or worth my time anymore. Taylor is just too frustrating. I don't like when people want fame instead of success. She's had a good run and some great luck but doesn't seem to have the grit or drive to sustain this career. Too bad because it's a great concept for a show. There are other shows that are more worth my time, I'm sad to say.

Cheers to all of that FKCSTmom! I also think we all need to keep this going with or without the show. After all, T & K have always said the listeners are the best part of the show. 😋 It seems like a lot of us here are interested in ghost stories and stuff, which got me thinking that a meet up trip of some sort in Savannah would be super fun. We go there all the time- it's great because they allow open containers so you can wander all over town with your cocktail! It's supposedly the most haunted city in the country so we could do the whole ghost thing lol. Tons of fabulous bars & restaurants too. Heck, Kenny does shows there once in a while, we could plan it around the show and take over the audience!

Youcaan that's my exact issue...I couldn't figure it out but you put it into words...fame instead success. I personally could care less what Taylor does with her hair or what outfit she wears. But I do care to listen to compelling content and would like her to focus on that. I've always (up until recently like maybe the last year) been into the show because of what funny stories I would hear or what guests they'd have in. But now it's just a matter of name dropping and lately this story over and over about her relationship. If you want to go behind the scenes and get a reality show by all means do it, but until that happens pleas actually perform for your day job.

Too bad because it's a great concept for a show. There are other shows that are more worth my time, I'm sad to say.I keep listening:
(1) in the hopes of new day-to-day stories about Taylor and her friends and her love life. The repetitive stories are making it TOUGH to get through the shows though. I love Taylor, but it reminds me of my MIL telling the same stories over and over. But I get it - it's how she has to meet and relate to each new co-host. She just needs to let them talk more and ask more questions of them. The games were a good distraction and way to hang out with co-hosts, but like you all said, a lot didn't translate to radio. I'm not bashing her, just constructive criticisms. I'm sure I would do the same thing if I were in her shoes.
(2) to laugh at the dry quick wit co-host comments, in the same way that Kenny had. I am hoping new comedienne co-hosts can do this...and some did!
and (3) to get snippets of news and issues. I hate the "real" news on TV or in papers, so this really is where I get political tidbits, trendy stuff, techy stuff, world news stuff, and even science stuff. Sadly the news has turned into way too much pop culture. I mean, I love me some pop culture, but some other newsie gems are good too. I hope it can get a little more balanced.
All of this said, I think Taylor's doing a great job having to juggle so much now. I just hope and pray a new, awesome format settles in soon because I don't think this format is sustainable.

I love the open container idea...lol...even though I'm not much of a drinker...but I'd be happy to offer to plan a Rocky Mountain getaway if/when Kenny ever comes to Denver!! Obviously we are going to have to do this next year to give everyone plenty of time to plan (have babies for those of you in hatchling mode...wink wink), save money, work out schedules with families and seriously, with Kenny (if we want to see a show). But start thinking about it peeps!!!! Who would be up for it???

Not listening and haven't since Kenny's last day.
Here's why:
After Kenny's last day, the entire week was Worst Ofs and, let's be honest, no one cares. During that week, I found maaaaaany entertaining Podcasts and realized I just didn't miss Wake Up. At all. I realized that I don't miss all the T Swift "gossip", all the same old stories, all the Toof Talk and random doctor ramblings.
I check in with you lovely ladies to see what's the haps but alas real housewives of wherever, or Taylor retelling her new love story to comedians, doesn't interest me, so I don't tune in.
I think what will get me to listen again is either A) Reading something on here that peaks my curiosity B) If I miss it or C) if I see there was a cohost I like

I haven't listened since the replays started for Tay's vacation.
I tried to listen when she came back, but I was so irritated by her and how much there is just a lack of structure to the show. I think the time off from listening broke my habit and morning routine to listen to it everyday. There's just such better content out there! I still check this board at least once a day to see if anything shocking or new has happened..but surprise surprise, it seems like I haven't missed much.

I stopped listening after kenny left for several reasons.
1.) Kenny is gone
2.) No new stories from Taylor despite her promise of new stuff after coming out. What drew me to the show 7 or 8 years ago was her hilarious daily stories of life with Brett.
3.) After the week of best ofs on the goddess girl week (which I didn't tune in to) I realized I didn't miss the show at all.
4.) Biggest one for me. Taylor's thirst for fame grosses me out. All I can picture is her team in the studio every day trying to come up with ways to get her into some crappy news articles to get her name out there. Ever since her divorce, tay has been driven to be more famous. I don't get it. I totally get her wanting to hustle to make some money because of her situation, but it seems more like she just wants something to fall into her lap like this radio show did and all she cares about is fame fame fame. That wasn't the old taylor and I cannot relate to it at all. It feels like she is just so distracted and blinded by the prospect of fame that she's letting her very own show suffer.

100%! She cares so much about fame and doesn't care what gets here there. Rather than it being fame from a great radio show, it's fame from fake Radar stories or coming out as lableless.

On one of the days that she decides she likes sex, she should just pull a Kim K and Radar can release her lableless love tape online. Scandy! And Insta-fame!

I can't really add much, you've all covered everything I was going to say. I'll listen if something new and exciting happens, but for now, I think I broke the habit!
However, I love you ladies so I'm definitely sticking around our little clubhouse here!! 😉💕

Ahhh Victoria that's it! It's fun to talk about here and dissect but actually listening can be tedious. I've already said the quest for fame is what really drives me away but I also hate in general people who are famous for nothing. I won't support the housewives or almost any reality tv franchise for that exact reason (although I love love fixer upper but they have a buisness!). If she wanted to do something worthy of fame by all means do it and the fame will come but this is what pushes me further and further away. And I actually think it started for me back when she married Brett because it felt very superficial. I still listen because I'm not quite sure what else to listen to in AM but without Kenny it's turned into listening to someone I would hate in real life (I didn't always feel that way) and that makes me sad.

I am so far behind on demand, it takes me days to listen to a show now. I've been a listener since 2006. Taylor used to be so talented at breaking down topics, dissecting them from multiple perspectives. She was so quick witted too. And she could discuss a vapid fight from the Real Housewives and turn it into a relatable and substantial conversation. Her breakdown of life's challenges, with lots of input from Kenny and callers was really important to me. Listening to the show used to be like therapy and it made me realize that we are all going through similar difficulties in our lives. I totally agree that Taylor's appetite for fame is killing the content of the show. I continue to listen b/c there are a lot of major changes going on and I'm interested to see where she takes it.

agreed! totally haven't listened in ages.....just like to read this board when i'm at work. ha!

I stopped being a regular listener well over a year ago. I listen to snippets here and there, but I just can't stomach her anymore. As others have said, she's completely unrelateable, and is annoying to listen to any longer. I do like vintage Tay, circa 2010'ish. There are a plethora of interesting podcasts out there that are eons better than WU. I do watch all her Periscopes though and would most likely give her reality show a chance if it ever comes to fruition. I can take her in very small, limited doses. Enjoy this board though.

I'm not listening anymore. I took a break during the Goddess trip week of replays, and then..... I just kind of forgot to start again. Haven't really been missing it...

I listen to the first hour most days, it's when I leave for work and haven't found anything else I live in the morning. I'll bounce between Andy & Opies shows if I'm really bored.

well somebody has to keep listening! lol!....but it aint me. I have to force myself to listen these days and its usually only when I'm in the car and its already on.

I still listen to the whole show everyday. I work from home and get sick of having the TV on so I listen on demand while I work or do stuff around the house. There have been a couple shows lately that I haven't been able to listen to the whole way through (like Monday) because it was so uninteresting, even as background noise. I like to listen to the old shows too and listen to a couple shows on Radio Andy. I tried liking JM but there's something about her that gets on my nerves. Like she's so over the top sometimes and really kind of hateful. I guess that's her schtick. The constant Donnie love fest got old to me too.
Offline
I don't have anything to add that hasn't already been said either- lol but a handful of times since Kenny left I've caught myself reaching to fast forward like I do though the commercials only to realize Taylor is still talking. I'm not sure what's stuck in my head more now, her stories or the Zyppah commercial!
Offline
I've stopped listening as well. I still find myself checking this board every couple of days, so I must still have some interest. The integrity of the show has gone down. Taylor somehow seems desperate and not authentic anymore. I'm super bummed because I've felt like they've been my "friends" for years. Kenny was the glue and I wish Sirius could have saw that. I miss the wit and punny side of the show. Now it feels so rushed from bit to bit, produced and not authentic. I also agree with others regarding Taylor not siding with women in many instances and yet preaching like she's a feminist. It just doesn't add up.
Offline
I'm still all in. Luv Tay and think the show has been fun to listen to. Cat Cora was hilarious today!
Offline
I still listen every day. I miss Kenny SOOOOOOOOOO much, but I need to start my day with entertainment and Taylor fills that. I like fluff in the morning and it does it for me.
Offline
I listened to the whole show everyday for years, even when it was an hour longer...until last fall. Then I started listening to most of the show, but didn't go back and listen if I missed part of it. In the spring I couldn't do it everyday it just was boring, I stopped all together over the summer, except for the last couple days with Kenny. I still love coming to the board here and keeping up...just in case it's great again.
Long time listeners, do you remember when the show was repeated right after (maybe later in the day) and people would call in all the time and say that they loved the show so much that they listened to it twice most days. I can't imagine anyone doing that now.
Offline
I totally use to listen on the way to work, and the way home. I also used to time
Things so I could hear Victoria's 7 things throughout the day. They were differnt every hour and Cosmo played them at the top of every hour all day. I feel there was also more of a relationship/crossover between the shows. There is so little of that now. I think it would have been awesome for Taylor to go on JM with her story when it was new and fresh.
Offline
I stopped listening.... I don't think I have listened to a full show since the beginning of the year. I check in maybe once every couple of weeks, but after listening for about 5 minutes I switch. I like many others on here have listened for a long time, probably around 8 years. I agree with FKFriday. I loved the Cosmo Radio days.... It was great entertainment to listen to on my way to work. I am now switching between Radio Andy and Opie in the mornings.. Sometimes E Weekly. I have become a channel hopper. I love checking in on this board though. You ladies are great and I personally think we should get Wakeupfan420 and Gold Clutch a morning show. You girls crack me up!!!

Did she say Megan Colarossi is co-hosting all next week? She was awesome the first round, I think this may be a secondish interview for her own show.
