I really blame him for the downfall. Yes Taylor could’ve been better but he really fed her ego and did not work on the basics like social media. He just wasn’t experienced enough.
I agree. He didn't seem qualified to take that on, but I think we need to keep in mind that Taylor was the one who ultimately hired someone with connections but no experience and chased away anyone that would give her feedback she didn't want to hear.
I think it's unfair to go after Matt. Maybe he should have been better at recognizing his limitations, but Taylor and her ego were at the heart of hiring someone who fanned out and probably didn't have the tough conversations with her that she needed to hear, in addition to the lack of experience.
A few years ago, she came across to me as kind of spoiled but overall, I enjoyed listening to her and felt like she often offered a different take than me on things going on, which made me think. I feel like once her "team" got involved, that is when she started going off the deep end. So Matt was involved, but definitely not entirely or even mostly at fault from my perspective.

This will sound strange, but I compared it to a toddler with one of those toy cars you ride around in. A 4 year old cant drive/handle a real car.
T wasn't in any position where a real Mgr would take her on, so she got the toy version of a Mgr. It was less pressure for her, made it fun, not serious, her gigs weren't anything that real that could change her life, she was playing pretend. And the best part was telling guests about her Mgr, it made her feel more important.

And she did tell anyone she could (including the listeners) about her manager ALL THE TIME

Matt has a car and picks her up every morning. "You're my manager!" It could honestly be as simple as that.

I’ve actually thought of that! I think so many of the things she’s said or don’t could have brought a lawsuit or a threat of a lawsuit to sirius. If something like that happened, someone may have just taken a closer look at everything and decided it was too much of a liability.
Yeah, I'm sticking by my theory that the email she read about her old lawyer got her into major doo doo. The more I think of it. I wish I could remember what was actually said in the email she read and if it could be defamation. I distinctly remember 'unprofessional' being thrown around. I mean it was a LAWYER she was slamming, publicly on radio. Sirius would be named in a defamation suit and the timeline would be about right I'd say. About 2 weeks ago I'd say? Does anyone remember this topic? Clay was her co-host.
Oh and PLUS I read somewhere on the board that Taylor had made a comment late last week about "never going to not listen to Katie again" or something like that. I could see Katie advising her against reading the email on air, and she went ahead anyways.
Thoughts?

I wish I could remember the whole lawyer/agent conversation! I'd be curious if anyone can remember the specific details.
I still think her dismissal is somehow related to the trip. The first day she announced it (Thursday?), she was so excited to talk about it on the show, plus she posted the stupid swimsuit photo on instagram. The next day she was on the air and didn't mention it one single time. I think she started to get negative pushback on that Thursday, and then knew the whole thing was a big mistake. Huge. Either Sirius stopped her right then, or she was advised by someone close to not discuss the trip any further.
If this trip was supposedly her own vacation time (yeah right, Babette... with her own money she earned from charging listeners $1000), and not related to her show, couldn't she still go? She could just eliminate the hour taping of the show and keep it as a girls getaway. I'm sure some of the FB supporters would love to drop $1400 to hear her again. The fact that the trip seems to have completely disappeared makes me really think it was the cause of her firing.

I'm thinking the FCC is doing a big investigation, reviewing the show tapes, etc. That's why there's been no mention from Taylor or a modification to the trip. Makes me wonder if the FCC purposely drags its feet for stuff like this so she'll "go away" and they won't have to bother with her again. #careerkiller Although I think Taylor's already done that.

I wonder if someone actually reported her for this trip and/or slanderous comments?

Do they always pull the On Demand right away? Anyone know if Opies was gone as soon as he was fired? If it does have to do with that, might be why everything disappeared so quickly. They own the content, and ratings come from OnDemand Taylor has said in the past so would make sense to keep that up even if the show was gone?

I'm still wondering if there were any non-compete compliance issues stemming from the fact that this trip was being held at a location owned by Taylor's former boss.
I have a non-compete agreement that states I cannot do business with current or former employees of my company (nor can they do business with me) when it involves any function of our industry.

This is what I remember of the topic. I think it was something to do with messing up a group text or responding to the wrong person on an email. Basically it was something about them agreeing to give the lawyer a cut of Getting Younger even though they did not get that job for her. The lawyer was hounding them about when payment would be coming and Taylor was pissed because she has not received her final check and the agreement was the lawyer would be paid in full when Taylor was. She copied the lawyer on the email to her team complaining about this and floating the idea of not paying. I think that then led into the story about Kenny and Taylor accidentally including Steph on a text about how much she sucks.

The lawyer conversation had something to do with her cutting ties with one lawyer (or whoever it was - some representative) but still agreeing to pay 10% of her earnings from the Younger tapings. She wrote an email to several people and was slamming the lawyer and it accidentally went to that person. She read the email on the air and it was pretty funny in a damning sort of way! This is a theory that no one else has really touched on but makes a lot of sense... in addition to the T & C trip plans, etc.

Hey guys- my husband wanted me to let all of you know that Sirius's stock (which we own shares in) is actually UP since Monday. Guess all the WU listener cancellations aren't as powerful as they think.....
Offline
I am positive this happens all the time. They probably heard it way more with Anthony and then Opie and neither of them got their jobs back, because at the end of the day the personalities are for the most part replaceable. It's probably pretty easy for them to get a bigger celebrity who would probably automatically pull a larger audience than Taylor ever had.

Probably helps that Ricky Gervais announced his new show this week. Maybe he was jealous of Taylor too.

FKF You had asked about if they pull on demand episodes right away. I remember when the Dr. Jenn show ended. She was able to do a last show and her on demand episodes stayed available until they expired.

Finally made an account here. I've been listening for long enough to remember the Mr. P's courtship and that when first discussing bridesmaid's dresses she wanted them to be navy and yellow. For whatever reason Taylor really failed to evolve but to be honest that show was a breeding ground for oddness. Victoria with her many marriages, multiple producers, Kenny's apparent lack of interest towards the end and Taylor going from struggling upstart to pseudo rich by marriage. That being said, she never got better at her job with her lack of preparation, eating, sucking up phlegm all while on a hot mike. Her last show with Clay she was supposed to be interviewing Jason Ritter and she talked over him the WHOLE time. He was terribly polite. I ended up listening to him get interviewed on EW Radio. It was a great interview that she missed out on due to her need to talk. Needless to say when the cancellation happened I was not surprised.

But wasn't that same woman on the Getting Younger project?

Can someone please elaborate on the story of Taylor and Kenny talking about Steph? Is that one of the reasons she left the show ?

I don't remember Anthony leaving, but when Opie left it was all over the internet, like lots of news stories covering it. There has been zero about Taylor, not a peep from anywhere. The last think that comes up is her interview about dating TD, there just isn't isn't any outside knowledge from the show of who she is.
Thanks micdrop...that may give some weight to the FCC stuff? If all her content was pulled right away and not for others?

I am an OG member since the Reddit page, before everyone had super creative names - I'm jealous that I didn't think of one! I haven't been on the boards in years, but had to check in this week to see wtf is going on. I am loving all the theories, conspiracy and otherwise. I had a love/hate relationship with the show. Didn't really miss it on Monday because she had said on Friday that it was a replay. REALLY missed it on Tuesday because Clay was my favorite. Now I could kinda give a shit. I'm sure there is better listening out there that is not so repetitive and self centered. Sorry Taylor, it kinda seems like you screwed the pooch.

Welcome, Spi!
Speaking of OG,whatever happened to the OG Lil effers ---MuthaEffer, HugKiss etc? Did all of them stop listening years ago? I only saw one of the OG gang from CosmoConnection days commenting on the FB page. She was complaining about how listening to podcasts is too much trouble. I wonder what happened to the rest of the crew that went to CosmoCon etc?

Clay too was my favorite and I always made sure to checkout Tuesday shows. This all is so unfortunate I cancelled by subscription this week and mentioned why. They told me that MANY too had cancelled for the same reason, so they are aware.
