My go to the last few months has been Youtubes hits of the 90s playlists.

Very nice. I hit twenty in the early nineties. New wave was starting to die much to my dismay, but there was 2 successive releases that still own me to this day.
Depeche Mode Violator
Depeche Mode songs of faith and devotion
Something from each of these releases grace my ears every day without fail.

Taylor Swift’s new cd. I know, I’m basic, but it really is good!
I also love some John Mayer and James Taylor to chill me out in the evening.

Nothing basic there. Tswift and jmayer have sold a kabillion records for a reason. I respect Mayer as a songwriter and a guitar player (he is quite good). Tswift is a good all around package (eg songwriting, performing, remaining relevant). I personally have never been a huge James Taylor fan, but dude is a legend for a reason.
We could chill with no problems

I rarely listen to music anymore, mostly podcasts/talk radio. But when I do listen to music, it's pretty much only the standards- lots of Frank, Dean, Tony Bennett, a little Michael Buble. Once in a while if I decide to act like I'm not 80 years old, I'll do Sting, REM, stuff like that.

Ahhhh, the classics. My wife enjoys that style of music as well.
Your 80s tastes sound similar to my own. Sprinkle in some cars, cure, pet shop boys, and other various new wave/goth bands. It allowed me to stand out in the sea of head banging hair metal rednecks in which I was raised with.
Durst, your selection is of no surprise to me.

I'm a country music girl! Also 80s if it's 85-88 era.

I'm a 90's girl, so def listen to a lot of that- it was a diverse decade, so there is lots of different music I love from then. Still love Nirvana and Pearl Jam, but also Soundgarden and Candlebox, but also No Doubt and Pink- my playlist is all over the place, lol. Love Sinatra and Dean Martin- classic awesome stuff. I do like 80's, too- unhealthy obsession with Richard Marx, if I'm being honest. Got some 60's/70's music I dig- huge fan of Tommy James, The Doors, and The Rolling Stones.
I also love today's hits too, though, and listen to Sirius Hits 1 a lot. My favorite modern bands are Maroon 5 and Imagine Dragons.

This is also no surprise to me. As you seem to be very diverse and attentive to details. You balance it with spontaneity and general Tom foolery. Most admirable qualities in my opinion.
Richard Marx was the shiz when I entered high school.

Imagine Dragons ❤️ They were at a festival near us, it was a weekend thing and we didn't go, but sat outside for them!
There is something so hauntingly beautiful about Beleiver

I like the standards because they remind me of a time when men were men. 😉

Generally I’m a 90’s/early 2000s girl with strong streaks of Billy Joel and Elton John, but nothing soothes my soul more than Dave Matthews.
Hop on board the basic bitch express! 🚞🚞🚞

Wool skirts and Birkenstock hahahaha poppy, you have not surprised (or disappointed) either. I absolutely adore your spontaneity!

I loooooove EDM, especially when working out. Taylor Swift’s new album is amazing... she just is amazing. I love music with pianos in it, I love melodic rock, punk, a lot of pop stuff... I also love Led Zeppelin and Megadeath but I don’t really listen to it much anymore. Classical music I find really moving, but again don’t listen often. I think that about covers it... 😂 I’m all over the map!
As am I. My pandora feed bounces between house and indi these days. I mix in my old school new wave of course.
2 bands that I am loving right now are
Neon Indian
Washed out.
Pretty much anything with sequencers and synthesizers grab my ear immediately. I am also a lyrics guy

If I'm not listening to talk radio at work - 99.9% of the time I'm listening to Train. But lately I've been on a Chris Stapelton kick!

Great thread idea, Karma!
It's no wonder you're all my spirit animals, y'all have impeccable taste in music. Currently listening to Otis Redding The Essentials, but my very fave of all time is Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, CCR, Michael Jackson, and DMB. Throw into the mix at anytime: Motown, everything 90s (alt, r&b, pop), jam bands, Willie Nelson, Sublime, rock/metal (Octane/Turbo), and a dash of gangsta rap. And really anything live. Omg I'm all over the place with this.
Guys. TOOL is headlining ROTR this year and I am fucking here for it!!!
