Isn’t she in something crazy like a three day morphine drip?? She should be great fun!

Any word?

None yet, she'll be on a pain pump for a few days though, so she's still probably a bit loopy and out of it right now. Stay tuned for a weekend update is my guess

Hey guys! I feel so loved!!! ❤️😻 Surgery went very well, I was in & out of the surgery center in 4 hours. I felt fine yesterday but my entire left arm/hand was numb until this morning so typing was tough. I've got a line of medicine directly into the shoulder that's keeping the pain at bay for now, but it comes out Friday and that's probably when I'll switch to the pills. But I may take one tonight just for the hell of it. I can't be held responsible for my Percocet induced posts. 😋

Can't wait for the Percocet Posts- I'll have my popcorn ready!! But seriously, so glad you are doing well! Stay on top of the pain- if you need the meds TAKE THEM. I did not heed that warning after my c-section and the pain would get too bad to get under control. Pop that percocet when you need it!

Hope you’re doing well, DB! I had my labrum repaired a year and a half ago...PT was one of the hardest things I had to do, but I am SO happy with my decision! Not sure what you had done, but happy to answer any questions or share my experience if you need it

Will do! I'll see what my husband says too- he never had surgery but had a shoulder injury from a car accident from a few years back that he did PT for and still does some at home exercises on his own.
Turns out once they got in there my rotator cuff wasn't actually torn, I just had a bunch of cartilage flapping around where it shouldn't be so the dr scraped it out. And apparently some part inside my shoulder is much smaller/less developed than most people so I shouldn't do too much shoulder exercise (don't have to tell me twice!). I don't remember what the part is called, he started using big Doctor words and I zoned out.
Had a little bit of a freaky thing happen last night, so just an FYI if you ever get one of these nerve block pumps after surgery. Its basically an IV directly into my shoulder with a big plastic ball about the size of a softball in a bag I wear like a crossbody, and it has a dial I can use to turn the amount of medicine I'm getting up or down. I turned it up one level yesterday afternoon, and my left eye (had surgery on my left shoulder) started to bother me, but my contacts are constantly bothering me so I figured it was that. Several hours later my eye still hurt so I took my contacts out, but I noticed my left pupil was WAY smaller than my right, and my eyelid was kind of droopy. Earlier that evening I left my purse in a restaurant and forgot my address, so I made a joke to my mom that I was having a stroke. She did not laugh and made me text the anesthesiologist immediately. 😂 The doctor said that was a totally normal side effect of the pump and if I turn it down it will go away. Would have been nice of them to warn me about that!
Anyhow, pump comes out tomorrow and my sister gets into town, so I'm thinking pills will be necessary!

DB, hope you’re feeling well! I love make a good timed stroke/seizure/death joke. Parents just don’t get it 😹😹😹. Keep up the PT you don’t want to be one of those old ladies that can’t raise their arm all the way!

Thank you! And yes about the PT - FKCSTMom has also counseled me about the importance of PT, she went through quite an ordeal herself!
