How do you make UK exports to Eastern Europe more reliable?

We’ve recently started sending goods from the UK to different parts of Eastern Europe, and Serbia became one of the main destinations. At first everything seemed manageable, but as shipments became more regular, coordination started getting messy. Delays, timing issues, and unclear schedules make it harder to plan ahead. Has anyone managed to make this process more stable?

Right now, every shipment feels a bit reactive — we adjust based on the situation instead of following a system. It works, but it’s far from ideal, especially when trying to scale.

What helped most was moving away from one-off decisions and focusing on a structured logistics approach. While reviewing different ways to improve consistency, attention shifted toward shipping to Serbia from the UK at providers that already operate with fixed routes and timelines. That made planning much easier and reduced the number of unexpected delays. Over time, deliveries became more predictable, and it felt less like solving a new problem every week.
