Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Ugh, Go Fund Me stuff is tricky- I've never been asked to help with a pet, but I suppose if it was a good friend and it was a life saving emergency I would probably give for that. I had the most annoying experience earlier this year with one- a woman I know (and am not very close to) started a Go Fund Me to adopt a child from another country, they wanted the traveling expenses covered to go get the child. They already have 4 biological kids and appear to be very strapped financially so I don't know if they can even really afford another child- but that is not my business. They are trying to do a good thing and I respect that. I chose not to donate as I give to a lot of charities near my heart and don't feel the need to support every situation possible. The annoying part was I received a personal message on FB asking if I had seen the page for her Go Fund Me. I said yes, I had, and good luck with that. She wrote back "Well I noticed you have not donated yet- just wanted to give you a reminder about it! Every little bit helps, and if every friend gives we can make our dreams come true" and on and on. That really pissed me off. It's fine to start a page for what you want I guess, but you need to let people donate on their own without pressure. I unfriended her without replying back. Am I a bitch in that situation? It just rubbed me the wrong way.....

No, you are not a bitch. I can't believe people who appear financially strapped  would be allowed to adopt a child. If they can't afford to adopt without a go-fund me to cover travel expenses, how are they going to afford to raise this child?!?!  Don't adoption agencies have some kind of financial review? Reminds me of a girl I knew from school who after having SIX kids would complain about the cost of raising her kids and beg for handouts. Ugh. Gross. I hate people.

Thanks, DestinationAwesometown! Glad to know someone else found that a little f'ed up to do! You would think they would vet for financial stability, wouldn't you? But they are members of a local church in which that is the big thing right now- their congregation is being pushed to do all this mission work and adoption out of Africa. Our local adoption agency is run by a woman from the church so I'm willing to bet much gets overlooked in order to carry out the mission. My friends adopted two children from Africa, too, but they are both college professors who could definitely afford to take care of their children- the kicker is, they avoided telling the agency they are atheists because this woman that runs the agency has publicly stated she feels only Christians can provide suitable homes for these children. I'm an atheist so I have to admit that is part of what left a bad taste in my mouth about the whole thing, too. The rudeness on top of it was just the poo filled icing on the garbage cupcake for me.

That's so gross that she personally reached out to you. I know a guy I went to high school with who was rich, not like his family was rich, but her personally was and he had an adoption go find me, and a plate dinner cook out.

O.M.G 😳 I just can't with people!!  Woman I worked with years ago started one to produce a play. Multiple shares a day aboutnthis fund. Then she messaged saying how much she missed me, blah blah blah, had I seen the play stuff. It would be awesome if I donated and helped. Nope, deleted no response.

I was super annoyed during the go fund me segment. I've donated to friends who's dog needed surgery and even rescue groups for cats and dogs. Idk if it's just because I'm an animal lover, but I see nothing wrong with it. You don't have to donate if you don't want.

My husky has what the vet told me is similar to an acl tear/injury in both of her knees the cheapest the surgery could be is 1500 for a leg (meaning no X-ray, no overnight stay etc) I'm seeking second opinions but who knows maybe I would co sister a go fund me. She's healthy otherwise and full of life, why would I put her down just because I don't have the money...? I wouldn't I would build her a cart if she needed it! lol it's fine not to donate to causes you do t care about but why put them down?

It made me feel bad for her brother that they would consider it an "embarrassment" for him to ask for help for his dog.

I don't agree with the college thing but ultimately who cares? Not everyone can have college paid for, qualify for fafsa aid or get approved for loans.  You don't have to donate and people can ask for help for whatever they want. I had a guy I went to HS with start a page for him to get certified in something. I didn't donate but why shouldn't he?

I agree with all of this, my jaw hit the floor when they said they would put an animal down because it needed surgery! Hope your baby is ok girl, and let me know if you do end up w/ a gofundme I will donate! We lost our husky last year and I would love to help yours out, they are such sweeties. Our other pup had to have eye surgery last year too and it was about $1200 so I feel your pain! But like you said, you find a way to get it done. 💕🐶

That's so nice of you! As of now we're getting some second opinions and finding out our options. I do donate to some rescue groups and a friend who's dog just had surgery, I love animals & I guess maybe it'll be some good kharma if I ever needed 😀🐶 Mya my husky is doing ok and most of all she's happy ❤️

I would never make a gofund me for anything but an emergency. I also wouldn't EXPECT anyone to donate or harass them in their inbox lol that is one of the most obnoxious things I've heard.

Hawr-rible you are not a bitch. You can chose to donate or not donate to whatever you want. I would've I friended her too 🙄

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Glad to hear she's doing ok! My other pup is 14 and arthritic but still getting around pretty well, we have him on a new regimen after his arthritis meds started messing with his liver/kidney functions - it's called T-relief (there is a green bottle and a red bottle, one for mobility and one for pain) maybe that would help your girl while you are figuring out your options. It's non-Rx you can buy it on Amazon- my vet recommended it, she said they are having a lot of luck with it in older dogs who can't take steroids or other pain meds, and dogs who are rehabbing post-op.

I was just listening to last thursday's show and heard something I'm sure most people didn't catch, but I'm cracking up because my mother does this all the time. At the end of the show, Tay was doing a live read for some Dish and tailgate channel or something and reading the website off she says "visit tish dailgate.com" instead of "Dish Tailgate" LOL

She has a hell of a time reading those ads sometimes, for sure, lol! She does admit she has a hard time reading aloud, and sometimes it is so funny. Yesterday I was laughing because instead of saying someone did a "bang up job" of something, she said a "banger job", ha ha ha! That is so much funnier sounding- banger job. Oh Taylor- she is a crack up sometimes.

I'm still not convinced she is. I think it works for her now, but I'd be surprised if she doesn't end up with a man eventually. I feel like she's pining for a "traditional" marriage, whatever that is in her mind.

I do think she loves TD though.

I agree- she is not a lesbian. She loves TD but she is still attracted to men; all of her celeb crushes are men, have you all noticed that? She did say once that if her and TD broke up she would probably go back to dating men.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I hate that "fashion, fashion never stops" song Taylor and her friends made. I'm glad Clay told her he didn't want to hear it anymore.

I know Taylor is the busiest person of all time, but would it kill her to do a quick 1 minute google search of guests before they come on?  She said she had no idea who Big Freedia was the other day, and then this morning she didn't know which of the Real Housewives of Dallas she was interviewing.  It just seems so unprofessional to me.

I actually tried to call in today about this, I was so irritated. People that work normal jobs can't just up and leave without telling anyone, regardless of the reason. If you're expected be at your job and you need to leave to change your clothes (valid reason) but you're still going to have to tell someone that you're leaving (probably your supervisor), and they are probably going to ask you why you need to leave in the middle of your work day. It's not like this lady probably wanted to have to explain to her boss what happened....not sure why Taylor was acting like the lady was shouting her predicament from the rooftops...she most likely HAD to tell her boss so she could leave to change. Nothing more, nothing less. God she is so out of touch with reality....

Also, SA - AGREED!! that fashion song is the fucking dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life... can't stand the fashion week crap anyway, but that song is truly unbearable...

LD- I think you got a special hater shout out today 🙋🏻

OMG- I'm behind on the show today; what did she say about Lydia???

Also, who was the co-host who she had the hot dog argument with? I remember the argument but can't for the life of me remember who that was- does anyone else remember? Obviously someone who stopped being invited back....

And yeah, where is Robert Verdi?? I miss him, too- she hasn't even mentioned him in awhile, I wonder if something happened with his mother and he has had to be gone. But it's weird that he is gone with no mention of it.

I hated the period discussion, too- it's not gross, it's just a natural thing we all have to deal with. I wish she hadn't dogged on that woman, too; it's so mean.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Did anyone else think she was a little overboard and borderline crazy (dare I say "unprofessional") when Taylor Kitsch came in last Tuesday? I almost turned it off as I felt uncomfortable for him...

You can tell that Clay and Rob actually do research on who is coming in as it often comes out when they are talking during the shows. They will make a comment like, "When I saw it on the rundown sheet..." and go on with information regarding where the guest was originally from, or more specific information. It begs the question: What is it that Taylor is working so HARD on each afternoon and evening to prep for the show, if it's not that? Is it googling The Daily Mail to get her worn-out 7 Things topics? (Is it my imagination or are those happening more than they used to?)
