Did anybody hear today when she listed the mass shootings that really bothered her? Cringing so hard!
I'm listening to it now. I lived thru dc sniper here in DC and I can't tell u the horror. I don't remember being on lock down because the sniper kept moving around from northern Virginia, Richmond, VA, DC, PG County, Montgomery County. we were told to avoid tree lines. I never realized how many tree lines there were until we were advised to avoid them. then they were looking for a white panel truck so of course, you felt like you drove past 30 of them everyday. the craziest thing was the # of people who would run zig zag to and from stores and gas stations to make it more difficult for someone to aim. wow, I feel ptsd coming on just writing about it. I'm leaving work now so will continue today's show during my commute. but I think tay and ken did good job talking about it.
It was terrifying! I was a sophomore at University of Maryland in College Park at the time. I remember I went on a road trip with some of my friends to Deep Creek Lake and we didn't get gas before we left. We waited until we were in Frederick to stop, because we thought it was safer there. They ended up catching the Snipers the next day in Frederick. It was a horrible feeling to be on edge all the time.
I too lived ur pain. remember pumping gas while ducking down by the car.
haven't tuned in yet today. what is the opening topic on the show?

Listening now - it's around the 13 minute mark of the first hour on 12/3. I was a senior in high school in Manassas during the sniper shootings and a senior at Virginia Tech when the shooting happened and it's really not the easiest topic to discuss or ask questions about but I thought they did such a great job with it.

Today's show was great! I'm glad they addressed the shooting....it was like they went ahead and talked about the elephant in the room. It made the rest of the show flow better. I may not agree with either of T or K all of the time but I do like hearing their opinions.
Also after listening to them talk about The Affair I must see it now!
I think I watched one episode when it started and didn't really pay attention. Now I want to watch it On Demand. Sometimes I see things late after I hear it talked about then watch old seasons and continue. I did that with Treme on HBO. It was such a GOOD show. I think I'll watch The Affair and The Leftovers this winter. Every month I swear I'm gonna get rid of cable. I should watch this stuff before June when my bill will go up. I swear I'm gonna cut the cord this summer.

Am I crazy or did they not already have the Mac and cheese place they had on today already? Kenny told a story that the place was the first restaurant he went to when he moved?
Offline
No. The first one they had in is called S'Mac. I have a good friend that lives a couple blocks away and we go all the time. It's really good. I haven't had the people they had in today though so I have no comparison. I don't know if you can go wrong with Mac and cheese though!!

did anyone else think the beer lady sounded like Kyle Richards?

I'm pretty sure he has been on before. Because Kenny just retweeted a tweet from Chef Michael that said "always a hilarious morning when visiting WakeUp"

Chef Michael has been on the show in the past. But I don't think it was for Mac Bar. I thought it was back when he was promoting some kind of event he was doing. Some kind of wine and food festival.

Does anyone have the twitter link? I missed today and I have to call and reactivate my account! It shut off this morning. AHHHHHH!!!!

OMG that was my favorite part of this morning! Both of them so worked up, then joking with other callers about her lol
Offline
The callers today were good! The caller that was so offended Kenny didn't want to buy his 5 month old christmas presents.
Offline
Taylor does have a valid point when she says she can't listen to other shows because she scared she will copy them....her sleep number read today in the 3rd hour sounded very similar to how Stassi just rambles instead of following a script.

Today was the first time in a while where they took a call that was not positive. I was shocked this call even made it through. Usually they only take calls of those that agree with the topic of discussion. This one was unique. The caller was offended with Taylor's comment about flight attendants being fucked up all the time. And there goes Taylor and Kenny mocking the caller once she hangs up. Clearly neither one of them has the balls to make these "funny" comments maki fun of the caller while she is on the phone. It was an ignorant comment and instead of taking ownership, they make fun of the caller for the next 10 minutes. They are both cowards.

That caller was kind of a bitch. Tay and Kenny were joking when they were talking about the flight attendants drinking. You can't take everything they say too seriously. I have enjoyed what I've heard of today's show. I laughed out loud quite a bit.

Taylor did own that the comment was ignorant and a sweeping generalization.

That was my take as well. They even tried to joke with her a bit and she was having none of it!

Because she was insulted! I don't blame her for not wanting to joke around during that moment. Taylor should have apologized for her ignorance.

She did.
Wtf taylor didn't know Kenny's dad was also a kenny? I knew that. She hangs out with kenny everyday and she can't remember that? Wtf.

Wait is Kenny a jr?
Question --- Kenny is not close to his dad and mom, but close to his stepmom? Is this the same step mom that is only like 10-15 years older than him? Last week he was telling a story about how she was in her 20's and hot when he was a pre-teen? I could be confusing people.
Offline
That's Rosanna-his Dad's 2nd wife. Kenny has talked about his Dad being a Ken many times. Idk why Taylor seemed like she didn't know that
Kenny seems pretty close to his Mom.

So today Robert V. was bugging me a little. Usually I find him hilarious but I wasn't feeling it today.
One thing that did drive me nutso (out of all the things that could probably have driven me nutso) was the shit-talking about Discover. I love my Discover card and it has palm trees on it and they have the nicest customer service and I've made a ton in cash back and one time they sent me a Starbucks gift card just as "thank you".
End rant. And no I don't work for Discover - I just love my card that much!!

This is driving me crazy, too. But because SAMs Club takes all cards, not JUST discover. haha

I haven't even gotten to that point of the show on my xm but here's a shout out for Discover whose customer service is always in the United States, at least this has been my experience and is what I have been told by Discover staff and no I don't work for Discover but am open to job change that will allow me to catch one episode of Dog the Bounty Hunter before going to work in the morning
