haha It was so funny because as soon as she said she loved Brandy I immediately knew that she was thinking of the wrong Brandy. Why does she assume everyone is as consumed with the housewives as she is? I've never even watched an episode so a lot of the time I just have to tune the talk out.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Why would she assume it's Brandy the singer? It's not the 90's. Last time I heard about Brandy it was because she got in a car wreck that killed someone.  It think it was a fine assumption based on the premise of Ross's show.

I assumed it was Brandy the singer because I don't know any other Brandy that only goes by her first name.

Same, but I've also never watched the Housewives of anywhere so never occurred to me there was another.

Yeah, me too.  That's the only one-name Brandy I know.

Ugh.... hearing them bitch this morning about how they are so "accessible" and they do not need to be on social media any more than they already are.... ugh... makes me want to puke. AHHHHH!!!!!!

OMG, I'm just catching up on this!! So infuriating. When they keep saying we're so accessible, you know we have a *gasp* phone number you can call. Ummmm. Except that the replay of Ellen's TV show has a better time slot than your radio show. This is the same reason the Twitter Q&A was a bust and this forum takeover is gonna bomb too. Your show is on wayyy too fucking early for tons of listener interaction. Hence the need to be present on social media. They just made themselves sound like jerks and whiney little bitch babies during that segment.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Wtf is wrong with Taylor? Why is she so quick to take the side of men accused of assaulting women. She questioned the women who accused Cosby(as recently as a month ago), when there are 50 or so accusers. And then this am, the story about  Peyton Manning and the woman who claimed that he touched her inappropriately. Tay immediately calls her a slut, and questions whether she slept around(like that is even fucking relevant). Stop calling yourself a feminist and acting like a misogynist. And for fucks sake, stop using the world slut to demean women.

And then they both try to say that a guy putting his balls in your face is not really that bad, in a boys will boys kind of why. Are you kidding me?!
I feel like writing something on their "real" forum.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Yeah she is pretty much the antithesis of a fun fearless female and a far cry from a feminist. But I've always thought that about Cosmo magazine too, in general. Like, all their headlines are "how to keep your man happy" or "10 things your man really wants in bed", etc. not very empowering in my humble opinion.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I have not listened to their take on this story, but I did watch a news story on in yesterday, several take aways: Why is she just suing now? This happened with Payton was in college, like 20 years ago? Apparently it was addressed then and she sued UT. I was far to young to remember any of this. Second, the people who produced the story only used pictures where she looked sexual, which I found really annoying.  Like because she is pretty its somehow her fault?

All. Of. This.

Cosmo sets women back a few years.

And I do believe Taylor wants to be a lot of things, but she allows her extreme options to get in the way and it has the opposite effect.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Even though Manning was never charged or found guilty in the 1996 incident, in this age of social media, it’s guilty until proven innocent, even on something that happened 20 years ago and is a closed case. Companies are not investing millions in ad campaigns to have the credibility of their pitchmen questioned.
The details of the court document, filed by the attorneys of the plaintiff, Dr. Jamie Naughright, are deplorable, disgraceful, stomach-turning and image-shattering — if true.
Naughright, then the director of health and wellness in the Tennessee athletic department, claimed that while examining Manning for a possible stress fracture in his foot, he slid down the training table and pushed his naked testicles and rectum in her face. According to the document, she reported the incident to the Sexual Assault Crisis Center in Knoxville.
The story that came out of the university was that Manning was mooning a teammate. The alleged recipient of the Manning moon disputed his account of the story. There was a settlement with the University of Tennessee, but Naughright sued Manning seven years later for defamation when his version of the story was recounted in Peyton and Archie Manning’s book, “Manning”. It was settled out of court.
Just last week, Manning was named among a group of athletes by a group of women alleging the University of Tennessee had created a “hostile sexual environment.”

All they had to do was google the story for more info, they're just lazy. It seems manning is a scumbag!

And then she's somehow put off by Taylor Swift defending her own hard work and taking credit for her own success.    WTF???

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I cannot believe she is shitting on T Swift for standing up for herself against effing Kanye West. Ugh. When she was saying "that's such a specific situation. How many other people are going to have that level of fame" (or whatever her exact words were). Come on. When T Swift was talking about people taking credit for your fame, she didn't necessarily mean fame (like on her level), she meant don't let people demean or discredit  your success, whatever your success is. That is a real FFF. I don't know why T couldn't understand what she meant by that...

Taylor thinks she is a feminist in the same way she thinks she wants to be famous. The title sounds nice but there's no substance behind it.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

i get so mad about the slut comments. When she tells the story of girls from her hometown who had "reputations" it pisses me off. These are real girls that you know. Why would you go on national radio and talk about things they did when they were young teenagers? I'm sure it gets back to them that she says these things on the radio. And they're probably humiliated. It's so unbelievably mean.

I was literally just listening to this on my phone On Demand this morning. Yelling at it, as usual. Taylor was completely missing the point (I think) when TSwift used the word "fame"...she was making a subtle, but NOT, reference to Kanye's lyrics about making TS famous!!!! And then speaking pointedly about "winning the whatever of the year twice for the first time in history" (sorry, I'm really not a music person at all but KW is really pissing me off lately!!!) was again, a BIG FAT DIG at Kanye without saying it straight out.

Taylor (Strecker) might think Beyoncé is the be all, end all, as do millions of people...and others might think TSwift is. Can't we agree that different people like different music? (Hey, I'm stuck on Classic Rewind!) lol

Right. I agree. I like Robert Verdi, but his "I hate everyone" shtick is getting old. I thought it was hysterical at first, but now, not so much. Hopefully with his new show he will have more topics to talk about and less hate.
Also, did they say why Dr. Wider wasn't on? I was so bummed! She makes my Wednesdays.
And why wasn't Kenny's segment on today? They brought up that it was going to be about swearing in front of children, but then Carin came on. Did I miss something?
Disappointments left and right!

Not really - it was mostly Taylor talking about how much she curses and how she curses in front of kids, lots of cursing, blah, blah, blah....  Kenny didn't talk about Duke much except to say he takes everything in, so this is on his mind now.

I was sad to miss Dr. Wider. I like Robert Verdi he's so funny, but I def wanted to hear Wider.
I thought maybe Kennys segment would be focused around him, but she took it over completely
