I’ve been thinking about adding some dimension to my dark brown hair but don’t want to go too light or damage it. I’ve seen so many styles online — caramel, honey, even subtle auburn tones — and I can’t decide which one would complement my skin tone best. Has anyone tried different types of highlights for dark hair and found something that looks natural yet noticeable?

It’s been tricky finding real opinions instead of just salon ads, so I’d love to hear from someone who’s actually done it.

A stylist once explained that highlights for dark hair are all about dimension. Adding a few lighter strands around the face can instantly brighten up your features and make your hair look fuller without changing the overall color. It’s one of those timeless looks that just adapts with every new season.
