I think I may be alone with this just based on the comments I'm reading, but I'm not in love with Megan for *this* show. I think she has a pleasant voice and good chemistry with Taylor, but I just can't relate to all the mom stuff. I'm 30 in NYC with no kids (none of my friends do either, I think we just start later here) and while I'm definitely a homebody, the talk of jammies and play dates takes me out of the fun city life, pop culture ridiculousness I've come to expect from this show. I'd probably tune into a show with Megan, but for Taylor I think I'd prefer a host who is in a more similar stage of life, or at least shares similar passions.
Or, maybe I just haven't evolved enough in my 6 years or listening 😝
My 2¢!

Was going to post this exact same thing WiderFan!!! Megan is great on-air and I really like her, but not a great fit unless she cools it with all the Mommy schtick! It's a little too much. Like, we get it, your a mom, there's more to life!

I haven't listened to it yet but I'm in my 30's in NYC w two kids so some mom fodder maybe 10 min sprinkled through a week might be nice but I deal with that stuff all day long. I want to vicariously live through the shows host. I think that's why I haven't listened as much lately.

I really like Megan and I'm 34 in the NYC area. I had my first child at 30 and most of my friends right around there. I lived in Hoboken so a slightly different demographic. That being said I also still like to go out and my entire life is not all about my children. I've been listening since the very beginning so I have evolved and would think the show would too over 10 years. But I understand still wanting the city life/single girl POV. Problem is taylor certainly isn't giving that now. They stay home half the time. So any other POV even if it is a mom with play dates is welcome in my eyes. At least I get enjoyment out of that. I don't enjoy hearing about sitting at home eating twizzler even if yhat is her current life. Lie to me instead

can I just say how surprised I am that Taylor is live this morning and its not a re-play? When I got into my car this morning - I thought for sure it was going to be a vaca day for her post the VMAs.
Offline
Ugh. I'm only an hour into the replay and I'm starting to fast forward. I don't understand why MC has to drop the fact that she's a mom every 5 minutes? I'm a mom myself but I'm not listening to WUWT to get a mom's perspective.
Offline
Not that I'm listening any more, but stars already has "the moms" show. I think a co-host who focuses on that too much doesn't make sense for tays brand. Tay, recently divorced and in a relationship with a woman, doesn't have any correlation with a mid-30's mom.
Offline
And in Robert Verdi's segment, MC cut him off when he was saying something gross and said, "Shhhh...mom's are listening". I'm so bummed. I think the new boss wants to the show to be different and that's the direction the boss is taking it in whether Taylor likes it or not. I've been holding on this past month but think I've finally come to the realization that the show that I loved is gone. Boo.

I haven't listened to today's show yet but I am thinking Stars is wanting the station to be more of a mom/family centered station. I thought that when they re-named JM's show. I thought it was an obvious move to tone down the, for lack of a better word, filth that that show sometimes has on. I think that's why they've had zero male co-hosts on WUWT since Kenny left. About to go on a run and listen to the first hour or so. Hope I don't hate it.

Ha I was just coming on to post the 'I'm a mom' comments are annoying and I'm 10 min in. A story here and there fine but I liked it and I'm a mom are so annoying. We got it. We know.

I was wondering why they renamed JM's show. That makes total sense!!!! She said last week that they made her rename it. Hope you enjoy WUWT on your run. I'm glad it was live this morning. I think I just got annoyed with all the mom references.

Who did mc think was going to pay for the dress, hair and make up, at she was saying let them pay for it?

I just listened to that part and was wondering the exact same thing. Who else would pay for it? Maybe I don't know enough about the industry or something.

I think she thought Sirius would pay for it because Tay is currently a Sirius personality. So she probably thought they would pay so Tay could represent them on the red carpet.
Taylor should've called RV and he could've gotten dresses from designers for her to borrow.

I hope that's not the case. JM and WUWT are the only shows I listen to. I'm not a mom so what would I listen to if this turned into a Mom/family centered station? Also, I'm pretty sure some moms don't want to listen to other moms and kid stuff.

I wanted to smack Megan when she shushed Robert and said "Moms are listening!". Jesus fucking christ lady.

Did you hear MC "shhhh'ing" Taylor during the plastic surgeon segment? It's probably a habit with her kids but it was pretty funny. I think she got tired of Taylor interrupting the surgeon but then MC would shhhh Taylor and interrupt him herself. That poor guy couldn't get a word in. Taylor was definitely wound up after her big night.

MC's role on Meredith Viera's Panel was being "The Mom". Lance Bass was "The Gay Guy", Yomenika (sp?) was "The Black Girl", Meredith was "The Older Woman" and then there was this fashion/single/younger girl whose name I can't recall. (I wouldn't be able to remember MC or Y's names either had they not been on WUWT)
I think that's why MC seems to have so much mom schtick on the show today. That's where her value was on the MV show. I think she's still trying to figure out the audience of this show.

I can't take all the doctors anymore. I actually only got to listen for about 45 min today and it was 15 min and then the plastic surgeon. He was so boring and it's really not his fault. Just how many times can we have cool sculpting info. I just changed the channel. I'm still trying to be supportive just having a really hard time.
Offline
She had him on because he promised her free cool sculpting. The doctor said it on air that she should come in for the free treatment he had promised.
Offline
So that guy seemed real skeevy to me, especially last time he was on, so I did a deep dive. He claims to be a board certified plastic surgeon, but he is not listed as board certified by any legitimate certifying board (recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties). Buyer beware! I wouldn't do it if I were Tay, free or not...
Offline
I thought it was weird to tell her "oh no, you're too young" (to flatter her) and then offer her free services. He mentioned a whole day just for her and MC. I guess he's not too booked up with patients.

Crap...I just wasted an opportunity for an OG show reference:

"Don't do it girl!"
"You're not saying it right! It's, 'don't do it gal'"
The good ol days

I'm still really liking Megan (and not hearing all the mom references, even as someone without kids), I think she keeps things moving along well.

I generally liked Megan, but two days in a row now she's made comments belittling people who don't live in NYC. Yesterday when she talking about Tay at the VMAs she said "you're living the girls who live in middle America's dream" and today when they were talking about Anthony Weiner she said "for people who live in like Ohio, he's a politician in NY". I live in FL and definitely know about the Weiner scandal...just because you don't live in NY doesn't mean you live under a rock. 🙄

This is the very attitude that gives New York and the people who live there a bad name. Like I get that there is no place like New York, but come on. Living in the "fly over states" isn't exactly the worst thing ever. Major eye roll.

As a Canadian, I find that to be a general American thing lol I have so many friends in the states that will send me random news stories that are happening close to me. Last winter there was an 80 car pileup in my city. Three friends in the States sent me the article "Have you seen this??" Yes, I've been sitting on the hwy for two hours because of it. We have news up here 😂

I think it has a lot to do with how different our education systems are. How else would you know there was a massive car pile up? We live in igloos, ere go, no television. Duh.
