Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

She's been telling the Babette stories for years, and I always found Babette's good intentions to be unhealthy.  I remember her saying a boy wouldn't kiss her and her mother told her it was bc of her weight YEARS ago.  Taylor's a grown up now so I'm not looking to blame her Mom, but Babette unintentualky fucked Taylor up in a few ways - weight, friends, relationships.  She doesn't seem to be able to see her parents as real people.  Her Mom, in my opinion, is VERY hung up on how everything "looks".

It's so funny that for me it says "new/might not be legit" 😄 ... I promise I'm real 😊

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Babette had body issues, and from stories of T's youth, it sounds like she pushed them onto Taylor, probably because she didn't know any better and thought she was helping. After all, Babette's goal was for Taylor to get her MRS in college, so she had to make sure T looked her best. Instead of shrugging Babette's comments off, Taylor internalized them big time. She's got issues from this, but Taylor's real problem is laziness, and entitlement. She wants to eat what she wants when she wants, and not exercise. No compromise. Just like she wants to get famous with little to no effort, she wants to be thin, with little to no effort.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Also, I'm SO tired of hearing her talk about how much the Kardashian's bodies are doing for women. Their bodies aren't doing jack sh*t for women. Their giant, injected butts, tiny waists, and big boobs are just more catering to patriarchal visuals and fantasies. I actually think the Kardashian body movement is taking women BACKWARDS.

I was listening to Dr. Laura the other day and a woman called in about a rape. She was deployed, out at a bar with co-workers. A co-worker (and someone thought she was a friend) walked her home and raped her. DL berated her for putting herself in that situation, it was her fault for being out drinking and had she not, it never would have happened.

What a fucked up view point. Some women dress "slutty", some women are huge teases, some women get sloppy drunk, that NEVER gives someone a reason to have sex with them without consent. I was so livid listening to the call, that is what is wrong with this world. Putting the blame on the victim will never fix the issue. You can be walking out of a coffee shop dressed in a turtle neck, hoodie & sweat pants and you may get raped. ALL the blame needs to be on the perpetrator.

You're so right! That pisses me off. People think that women should be the ones going out of their way to not get raped. Don't dress to sexy, don't lead men on, don't get too drunk, don't go out at night alone or to the bathroom alone etc. that doesn't fix the problem! That encourages it (rape) to be a part of our culture. I know it happens and I am careful and do some of these things myself. The issue is that we're (society as a whole not anyone specific) teaching our children not to rape. I know many of us here are probably doing that. My mom taught my brother AND ME that it is unacceptable to force people to do anything they don't want to and that we shouldn't let people do anything to us that we aren't ready for or understand.

But even when people get caught some aren't punished nearly enough or at all. Brock Turner and a ton of others. Someone like him isn't going to learn his lesson. He was never really told he did anything wrong and was not given a severe punishment to do so. This is another major part of the problem!
I don't like Dr. Laura sometimes because she comes off as a self righteous know it all. (I have heard her give good advice too) but when she gives answers like that it's infuriating.

How is the world ever going to change with these attitudes? Taylor was not on Brock Turners side but her non feminism doesn't help either. A girl can be a slut if she wants to. What does anyone care? Taylor seems to care a lot. I think that when she sees an opportunity to put another woman who could be perceived (by her) as slutty or any other characteristic she doesn't like down, she jumps on it.
I'm not saying she does that to every girl, but she does do it. Erin Andrews, Amber Herd, Kim Kardashian etc. I may not like these women either but she's very judgmental of them and harps on anything they may do negatively.

I sincerely hope the asshole caller that fed their neighbors dog Taco Bell w/ FIRE SAUCE is not a part of our group...why the hell would you do that to a poor defenseless animal?? Like it could help their shitty owners leave it outside to howl all night? What a dick move. I don't like kids, but I would never feed your baby hot sauce for my own amusement! And then those fools were laughing about it??

UPDATE: Now T's neighbor is a closet lesbian that is infatuated with her! What a freaking joke. Get Babette out of your head girl - NO ONE IS JEALOUS OF YOU.

As a dog mom to 2 amazing BASSETT HOUNDS I was so pissed!!!  Don't even get me started!

Haven't heard this convo yet when is it? It infuriates me that people do these things. Moreso that they think it's funny. I'm also a dog mom of 2, a border collie and a Siberian husky, and I would be crazy if someone had done this to my dogs. My border collie is loud and barks at everything. It's annoying and we're working on it, but that no excuse for cruelty. Just like it was said above^^^ Babies cry loud and it can be annoying, but I would never harm your child! And they were laughing about it? That is so fucked up!! I haven't listened yet like I said, but T has said some stuff about animals in the past (the mom that had her kid shoot the neighbors dog and others) that have really made pissed me off. I used to only listen for Kenny after she'd say those things. (Probably why I barely listen now lol) I can understand not really liking animals but to have no empathy for another living being is so fucking wrong and disturbing.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

has Tay ever posted a chubby pic? like was she really ever a former fat kid, or did her mom just say she was a fatty, so that is what taylor believes?

also, I have a fear about someone harming my cat because of stories like above.  She's an outside cat, literally I cannot control what she does, and I highly doubt whatever she does is so egregious she deserves harm from it.

People who harm animals, or are apathetic about animals being harmed, are f'ing monsters.

There's a few pics of her from when she was younger on her instagram. She only looks chubby in one of them. She looks normal weight in the rest I think.

That's why mine stay inside. I'm sure they could handle whatever they got into it, I would lose it if someone did something to one of them though.

COMPLETELY agree. I would go HAM on anyone that hurts one of my pets, or any animal for that matter. Someone in my neigborhood was keeping his dog in the garage all day (in FL) and a group of us were on him like white on rice, called animal control right away.

I question people with a wholesale dislike of animals- it's one thing to not want pets, or to dislike certain types of animals, but I really feel that anyone who flat out doesn't like animals is seriously missing a sensitivity chip.

I agree Husbandpillow!  I think Babette did f her up with her friendships with women and her body image.  Taylor spends so much time talking about body acceptance and loving her curves, yet simultaneously talks about how unhappy she is at her current weight.  Wasn't it just recently that she mentioned considering doing weight watchers again?  Body acceptance is also about loving yourself enough to workout every day and check your diet.  It almost seems like she's gaining weight as a sort of rebellion.  And I'm not trying to fat shame her.  I think she looks great.  I just think she's all about the excuses and is lazy.

First, I want to reach through my screen and virtually HUG AND SQUEEZE you too, Don't Do It Gal!!! I'm sorry you had to go through anything that horrific.

Second, have any of you had a chance to read the incredibly POWERFUL victim's statement written by the victim in the Brock Turner case? "Statement" is an understatement (honestly, no pun intended) because it took me almost 45 minutes to read in its entirety. But I wanted to stand up and cheer for that young woman, to give her anything I could to help her and make her feel whole again...hell, I wanted her to be our next president (she's extremely eloquent on paper). If you haven't had a chance, I highly encourage and recommend that you take the time to do it. What a brave woman...

I can't stand Megan either. She is so condescending, and her "let's play nice, I'm a Mom" shit is really hard to take. It's not your show-show Taylor some deference. I commented on the WU page. I'm praying her new gig will prohibit her from being the new co-host.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

My take on this week with Megan is that she is auditioning in a way that she would be a full co-host, so showing what it would be like when it isn't just Taylor's show. I liked her a lot. I think, in time, she would find her groove. I like the different perspective that she brings and I think it will make for some interesting discussions with Taylor once they get to know each other better.

This has definitely been my favourite week of shows since Kenny left.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Almost everything that comes out of Megan's mouth is the very definition of bethos. That same feeling you get when Taylor talks about "serving the tea" LOL. I forget what they were talking about the other day, but Megan said "You go girl!" and it was so awkward, like when your very out-of-touch Mom says it

I actually like Megan. I have listened to all of this week. The show seems to have more of an agenda. They stick to one topic and they have topics and clips to discuss. It's actually nice.

If Taylor gets a new cohost like Megan it will NOt be Taylor's show anymore. I don't think Taylor can carry her own show.so the name will change of the show. I don't understand if they are doing radio in the city, why doesn't Nicole just cohost.

Whoever cohost with Taylor will def be on the show as well. So they have to be willing and great on tv.
