Goddess Getaway
Anyone else notice how Megan, today's cohost (7/27), called out Taylor for using air quotes when she said she had a "work trip"? For whatever reason it really made my blood boil. 20+ women are paying thousands of dollars to be a part of something Taylor is involved with, and she uses air quotes while explaining what it is. Ugh. It just bothered me.

I know she's not a hard worker, I was really surprised though when she said she is taking extra time and turning this into a vacation when her show is so up in the air right now.

I don't have an issue of her turning it into a vacation. She is not being excused from using her personal days at Sirius . And she definitely takes off a lot less now than in the past. But I'd love to know how much of the weekend Taylor actually spends with the guests. Anyone on here going?

I remember her talking about taking extra time over a month ago. If it were my show though, I'd seriously rethink it.

Too bad she won't do the show from Miami and talk about what they are doing and have the listeners talk about the experience. Like what she and Kenny did from the food and wine festival in Miami

This is what I'm thinking. For sure shes entitled to her vacation time, but I would think at this point there is a very real chance of coming back to no job.

I have use it or lose it vacation. So, it makes sense to combine a vacation with a work trip. from a tax standpoint, the airfare can be written off and some hotel days. there hasn't been a lot of days taken this year and at 10 years she probably has 4 weeks to use. This was a smart decision on her part.

I would do the same thing (combine extra days if I was already traveling somewhere sunny and warm and had the time available to take off). And honestly, although the expenses for the flights are being paid for by those who are going (and not Taylor), it's definitely cheaper when you fly on a Tuesday or Wednesday than a Friday. Not that it matters to her (in the grand scheme of things...).
I just think the whole weekend is a joke and I apologize in advance for offending anyone on this board who may be going. I think it came about as a way for T & T TO TAKE AN ALL-EXPENSES PAID VACATION in the first place...I just hope you get more than a workbook and lifetime access to Carin Rockind out of it. Fingers crossed!!!

Ultimately she can and will do what she wants, but if I were in her situation I wouldn't take this vaca either. Over a week with no new shows. I know I won't be tuning in to listen to best ofs. Also I'm waiting to see where the show is going it was less than a week ago that we were given the news of Kenny leaving. I would combine days too, but not with the show in such a precarious situation, but that's just me.
Also no offense to anyone but I agree with FKCSTMom 100% on the goddess getaway thing. Aside from my dislike of Carin what you're getting for the $ doesn't seem to be that much.

Has Carin been on the show much (or at all) since the Miami weekend? Didn't she used to come on regularly? Like once a month or every other week? I only listen occasionally now, so I could have missed her.

I was wondering about this too! She hasn't been on in awhile. I thought they were supposed to be doing another retreat and webseries together as well. I mean, I'm totally ok with not hearing her. I never got into her or liked her segments.
