Yes. Very nice. I'm praying over here.

Re: Family Emergency?

There is a Go Fund me page for T2's dad.  Here you'll find the full story and updates.  I can't imagine what T2 and her family are going through right now.

Re: Family Emergency?

This is so interesting to me...first, I feel horrible for their family and what they are going through. They are definitely in my thoughts and prayers.

What is interesting to me (a general observation about the world, and not specific to them) is that our society has become a "go fund me" society now. No matter what happens to people (and who knows if they even gave permission so please do not take this as directed at them...), it seems as though a fund of some sort is an automatic part of the steps taken by a friend or family member. I know in our lives, what has happened is that we tend not to give (or give as much) because it's a daily occurrence. We are not able to give money to everyone who needs it.
Anyone else see this happening?

Again, not at all a commentary on THEM... I've been through the loss of both of my parents (I was in my 30's) and it sucks. They are dealing with seriously big stuff right now and I hope he continues to get well. ❤️

Re: Family Emergency?

Oh wow, that was heart breaking reading. A month he didn't speak, that was pretty serious. Surpirises me Taylor isn't spending Christmas with them, I would think that would be a real time to support your SO? Each family is so different though.

As far as the GoFundMes in general, yes I think over done. So many scams pop up, it's makes people wonder about them all. I think in a case like this though, it's great. From the comments, seems so many people love him, and it's nice people can help. So many times we want to, but aren't sure what to do.

Re: Family Emergency?

That's so sad for the family and, I'm sure, we all send our good wishes.

I have mixed feelings on GoFundMe pages in general.  I know they are very much needed in some cases and very frivolous (boob jobs, vacations, etc) in others.  I guess the best way to look at it is, once you're sure it's a legitimate need, you can either give freely or take a pass.  Just because someone is asking for donations, we don't have to give or feel guilty if we choose not to.  It's a weird phenomenon that may take time to sit well with some people.

Re: Family Emergency?

I think some people abuse gofundme pages. But in a situation like this, I think it's great. A friend of the family loves the donohues and wants to try to help in any way. I feel so sad that t2 is having to go through this. She seems like such a great person.

Re: Family Emergency?

I have a sorority sister whose four year old son just passed away, a cousin with colon cancer and a friend who is a musician. They all had go fund mes and I donated to them all because I knew them and wanted to support them. It can be abused but if you know the people and the situation I think it's a great way to show support.

It sounds like from the update post he had a few surgeries, then didn't speak for almost a month. Had to have been really serious. My Gran had heart surgery at 79, and she was sitting up in her room (a chair, not the bed) the next morning when I went to see her and home a few days later. A friend in his late 40s had a bad heart attack in the summer (3 valves blocked, in surgery before his wife got to the hospital and she was the one that called the ambulance) and he was home a few days later. Off work for 6 weeks or so, but the surgery was Friday night and I talked to him Sunday.

Re: Family Emergency?

I feel terrible for the donahue's...Taylor seems really sweet and like they're a really tight knit family.

But I'm sorry...this just reaffirms that Taylor strecker is a self centered piece of shit. You can't be there for your significant other during what is without a doubt one of the most, if not the most difficult time of her life because you want to go to the beach and be fawned over by mommy and daddy at Christmas? I hope TD sees the light because that is ridiculous. And she deserves better.

Re: Family Emergency?

Really? She's been there almost every weekend since it happened. She's obviously meeting T2 in Florida after she has family time. Tay has taken off numerous days and cancelled events to be there with T2. I've been married for five years and have two kids and I would also want some time with my own family if I were in her situation. I mean, she left Boston the day after thanksgiving to be with T2. Are we really calling her unsupportive?

Re: Family Emergency?

1000% I am. Wtf is your deal? The mindless fan girl meeting is over on instagram. Why are you defending someone who has proven to be such a self centered brat?

Re: Family Emergency?

I'm with chelchel, I think she has been supportive, going back and forth to be with Tay and her family. And we don't really know everything-maybe Tay D wanted Tay to have time with her own family, while she shared the holiday with just her immediate family as well.

This! We only know what we see, who knows what's going on behind the scenes. I still think Christmas with TD should be a priority under the circumstances, but who knows what going on. Maybe they are skipping it or keeping it super low key with what's going on.
