Did anyone else think it was really awkward on Friday when they opened gifts while the mixologist was there? He had to keep interrupting so he could do his thing.
Yes! Super awkward.
Just finished yesterday's show- I LOLed when Taylor said they were starting a Facebook page for the show after the new year.
And I'm really over the doorman talk. Every.Year. We get it - you're cheap and live in a building you really can't afford, but I would venture to say a very small % of listeners have a doorman.

What?!?!?!?! They already have a website, Facebook and Instragram they don't use??? Why do they keep trying to reinvent the wheel???

Lol who knows...should we start taking bets on how long this "new" Facebook page will last?

No kidding--i really wish they'd use the one to have. It would be nice to be able to give them feedback. They act like they get so much feedback...is it all coming from emails? They give no indication that they look at that. I'm not big on Twitter, so perhaps that's more active.

Another fb page-WTF??
RV was so freaking hysterical yesterday. Interesting that he thought Shamar was gay. He was totally overcompensating, but it never would have occurred to me. I remember when he was describing a certain football player as being attractive, and then he was all, I like women, but I can acknowledge a guy's hotness -he sounded so defensive.

It never occurred to me either, and at first when Taylor said well why wouldn't he just be out then I agreed with her because Hollywood is obviously very accepting of gay people, but I guess because his brand is completely built on women lusting after him that would go down the toilet if he were gay.

Also, I think it's a little harder for African American men who are perceived as more machismo.

Maybe... but there are plenty of gay actors with a large female fan base (Helloooooo, Matt Bomer! )

Yeah, I've just heard that it's more taboo in the African American community.

I'm listening to today's show on demand right now and why are they still doing toof talk? I hate it so much! The dentist segments are boring as it is, but I can't even listen to toof talk. Does anyone besides Taylor actually think it's funny?

I loathe toof talk. It's not funny. It requires a visual element. Somebody grab a cell phone and go live on facebook. She wants to become viral like chewbacca mom but does nothing to get to it.

I think she was referring to Shemar being gay. Not for nothing, that made me LOL. 😉

Reaction #1: As a childless adult, I've had no fucking clue what Elf on a Shelf is actually all about; totally irritated by these posts with the "obviously" tone.
Reaction #2: Irritation instantly evaporated after reading the above. THANK YOU for the belly laugh and Merry Christmas!

Ha,ha. that's hilarious. Yes I meant coming out as a gay male in the African American community.

I'm a childless adult too. I usually don't know about all the random kid crap people talk about but I thought everyone knew what elf on the Shelf was...

hey guys, had to laugh at myself while I was writing it. it would have worked even better if not so many other responses had preceded mine and yes, afterwards, I did indeed waste several minutes of my life that I can never get back, researching said elf on the shelf.

apparently not much is up with the elf in question as it tends to be taboo among African Americans. Pio i wouldn't try to stretch too far on this elf business. little hard to explain but downright silly if you back up to where shemar was mentioned. have a merry Christmas.

Lol...nothing at all!! I can't remember who made the very beginning original comment...but the part regarding African-American families was actually about the speculation that Shemar could possibly be gay; one of the many reasons he might never talk about it; (if so...it never crossed my mind!) and whether or not THAT is taboo in African-American families. Nothing at all about the Elf on the Shelf! 😉

I wondered if anyone thought Taylor sounded fairly bitchy and controlling when she was discussing the Christmas decorations (and that led into decorating in general) with the co-host Debutante Farmer on Tuesday?
First, she threw T2 under the bus for hanging up multi-colored lights, then went on to say that people who hang them are "trash." (Hopefully she doesn't listen!) That segued into more Brett drama from back in the day when he got involved in her decorating decisions. It is still an issue with her that he had opinions about their million dollar apartment (and wedding)...and she said (god, I wish I had the exact words but this was almost it...) he needed to "let her make the decisions and he could pay for it."
I am fortunate that I have a husband who declines to pick out just about everything...he's more of a "please don't make me do that" kind of guy. But I would NEVER look at him, or refer to him as basically a walking checkbook that needs to shut the hell up when it comes to input on anything. AND, why is she all for equality but only in certain cases??
That girl is a walking, talking dichotomy!

Totally agree in Taylor's situation where he was paying for everything (including the housekeeper) and did genuinely have an opinion.
Lol my husband generally can't be bothered but will make the occasional blanket statement that our house is too feminine. It drives me nuts when he does that because I'm the one who did all the work to decorate it in the first place, and when I've said to him "then go to Homegoods on your day off and pick out new shit", he never does. Sooo you want to complain but don't want to do the work to fix it. 😑 He also never cleans - I'll get really mad at him about it and he'll get better for like, a week, so now I just tell him "if I'm cleaning/dusting the stuff, I get to say what the stuff is." It also helps that we pretty much make the same amount of money.
