Producer Katie

Am I the only one who thinks traveling the world alone sounds boring?

Re: Producer Katie

I think it sounds fantastic - but then again, I'm kind of a loner. I don't really believe in astrology stuff, but Stassi and I have the same birthday and when she talks about being a Cancer/needing alone time I can totally relate. I have yet to actually travel alone, but I really, really want to. I've been to London several times and I want so badly to have a week there all to myself.

I do enjoy traveling with friends/family/my husband, but sometimes I get frustrated because there is usually SO much I want to do and have a limited time to do it in, and even less time when other people are involved. My husband would be fine with me traveling alone, but I do want to share experiences with him so I have yet to actually do it.

I can definitely understand why someone would want to/enjoy traveling solo. Especially as a single person (Katie is still single, right?) at her age, a lot of people are coupled off and save their vaca days to travel with their SO, or don't have the money to travel like she does. I'm a couple years older than her and was in a similar situation- if my parents didn't travel so much and let me tag along, I probably would have gone alone too!

Re: Producer Katie

I love doing things by myself, including travel. My husband thinks I'm a weirdo lol, he loves to be in a group/surrounded by people always. Randomly (or maybe not so randomly) I'm a Cancer too!

Hey crab hey! Lol my BFF does not understand how I can be such a loner. She's a Gemini if that means anything, and she's super social. My husband is in the golf industry so he works every weekend and  people always ask me if I get lonely. When I'm home on the weekends it doesn't even occur to me that I should be lonely/make plans with people because I keep myself so well occupied. Once in a while when he has a random weekend day off and forgets to tell me I get kind of annoyed when I wake up in the morning and he's still there because I'm expecting to have the house to myself. 😋

Re: Producer Katie

Lol me too! Perfectly stated - It wouldn't occur to me to be lonely, I have a job and a pup that keep me busy enough, then I just get to relax and do whatever I want! 😁🙌🏼 . My husband works in oil & gas industry, so he works out of town for 15 days, then home for 6. The company they've been working for shut down for the holidays, so he's been off the last 3 weeks and it's been so weird to have him home all the time lol. He's getting ready to leave Wednesday for a 36 day hitch - it made me chuckle when T was saying how she couldn't Handle when T2 was away for work. I was like, girl...you have no idea...

Re: Producer Katie

I'm trying to work up the nerve to travel by myself.  Like you all, my husband is gone for stretches of time and I've never had an issue with being by myself.  But now that the kids are out of the house and I recently left my job, I'm feeling antsy and ready to do stuff.  I could bring friends along but honestly, I kind of want to go on my own.  I wish I had started this when I was young, like Katie.  All suggestions welcome!

Maybe just start small? Don't go somewhere too far/crazy until you get more comfortable. What part of the country are you in?

And I still say we need to plan our own Pink Troll Convention somewhere!

Re: Producer Katie

I freaking love the idea of traveling alone!!!!! Katie is IMO fearless inspo. If she has the means to just up and go she does.... I definitely want to try to travel (even if it's a trip within the states) more this year.

Re: Producer Katie

I don't get the idea of traveling solo and why it's such a trend right now, but I also have a husband who likes to travel the same way I do.

Re: Producer Katie

I have a crazy job with an unpredictable schedule and haven't been on vacay in 4 years due in part to the impossibility of trying to plan with others. This year I decided to go on a solo trip because it takes out the whole component of working around other people's schedules and allows me to be really last minute. I'm thinking Santa Fe for my first time doing this (I've heard it's a great solo destination for women). I feel like I even posted for suggestions on here at one point...

Haven't been to Santa Fe in many years, but it's gorgeous and I agree it would make for a great solo trip! Happy travels
