Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Anyone else surprised her and TD have made it this long? Mainly due to the amount of anger and resentment towards her in laws tells me she is refusing to let go of something.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I don't listen to the show anymore, so could be way off base, I can't imagine her still being hung up on the in laws though. Is maybe still talking about them because TD doesn't want their relationship or her family discussed on air? Assuming Taylor still never leaves her bed or bath, that really doesn't leave much else to talk about.

Is Matt still around? How come no more carpets, parties or social media? He seemed to make all that happen.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

My favorite quote from today (not exact words): How can anyone think I'm not a feminist. I'm a girl dating a girl?

No Taylor you aren't a feminist because you don't believe in equality for women unless it benefits you. I can overlook a lot that she says and does because I find the show entertaining but this drives me insane. She even said something very unfeminist like right before that comment and I'm blanking on it now but wish I could use it as an example.i think it was the comment that Lori (Laurie?) brought up trying to defend Taylor from yesterday when she said that the role of cocktail servers is to entertain celebrities and Vinnie said no they aren't prostitutes. Lori thought Taylor said the no they aren't prostitutes but then quickly shut up when she realized Taylor made that comment.

And hey, I don't pretend to be a feminist. I know I'm not. But it's insulting to the actual feminism movement to think that just because you are in a female relationship that qualifies.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Oh my god yes!! She said,  "how can I not be a feminist?  I have a vagina, I divorced a man, and I'm dating a girl". I love that Lori said, "I don't think that's what makes you a feminist" No duh.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

"I throw all of societal expectations and gender norms to the wind". Taylor on being a feminist "on speed". Really? Is that why you call women who are sexually empowered, sluts?

Thanks Lydia!  You remembered it all exactly. I got so angry with those statements.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I'm listening to that part right now, so those are her exact infuriating words. She needs to educate herself on what it means to be a feminist.

it also didn't really sound like a "fight"..rather a weird situation that happened and she wanted to get everybody's take on it.

To be fair, I was using Taylor's words. She actually said, "I got in a fight while I was down there" and later said she was  "drunk and got in a fight with these teenagers throwing crackers."  It sounded like they went to sit somewhere and the 'kids' (whatever age they were) were playing some sort of a game where throwing crackers was part of it. Although many of us might have called it a 'confrontation', she did say 'fight' more than once.

My point was that it seems that wherever she goes (planes, Ubers, taxi, festivals) she comes back with a story of a fight/confrontation/issue. At 33, most people have skills for getting along with people and typically aren't creating drama. They also know how to walk away from or ignore it.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I really wanted to call in this morning for the feminist talk but I couldn't at the particular time. I think women (and men, people in general) should do whatever they want, but I do think it's worth noting that Taylor sought out a wealthy man who would take take care of her. I give her credit for having the strength to leave a situation that made her unhappy, however I think that was easier for her to do knowing she was entitled to some of his family's wealth through her prenup. Her new breadwinner status in her same sex/no label relationship likely wouldn't have happened without her initial gold digging ways.

I may be totally off base here, but Taylor just really annoys me when she goes on her feminist rants! I appreciate that Carly said she didn't like the Middleton sisters because she's jealous... I hate the just jealous excuse, but I think that may be why Taylor hates them so much. They succeeded at what Taylor initially thought she wanted for herself - marrying up.

Sorry this is such a long comment... I did write in a surprise me topic earlier this week, which I doubt will ever be discussed, especially considering she brought up feminism today.  Here's what I sent -
"During this morning's show you mentioned that you asked some women who they voted for on your trip to Memphis (and the answer was usually Trump). It got me thinking,  and I really gotta ask you girl... why didn't you vote in the presidential election???  I don't think Trump is pro-woman at all (I personally can't stand him!), but is a woman who voted for Trump more of a feminist than a woman who didn't vote at all? Voting can be a pain but I personally feel like it's my obligation to those who fought for me to have that right... Just wondered what you thought."

And don't get me started on the slut/victim shaming...

This right here is what pisses me off the most.  I agree, it is insulting to women to say that because she is in relationship with another female that makes Taylor a feminist.  It generalizes women as a whole.  Am I not good enough because I am not in a relationship with another female?  She uses that as the answer to all awkward situations, "well I am in a relationship with a woman now so I fit XYZ mold."  Taylor is so naive.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

So, I just started listening to Monday's show and I am already annoyed lol. She just made some comment about Pippa M's wedding - it was about Megan Markel not attending the ceremony. She literally said, "He (Prince Harry) just took her to the reception like the slut she is..." then continued to call her a hoe as they went to break. WTF? This kind of shit is exactly why you're NOT a feminist, Taylor.

Also, can we slow the roll on the lesbian-Uhaul joke? It's not that funny, esp after the 45th time you've told it...

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Yeah, that was bananas. Any woman who has more than her, who is more successful or attractive is someone that she hates for no reason. And to call a woman a slut as some sort of off the cuff insult-it's gross.

Brilliant fucking question!!! I've wanted to ask the same!!!! I cannot stand the 45th either but I'm less offended by a woman who voted that way than a woman who did not vote at all.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

All of you amazing people are completely on point!! Taylor has been DRIVING ME INSANE with all the slut shaming lately. The story about Megan, the story about Orlando Bloom...Those girls are NOT SLUTS OR WHORES. This might be what ends the show for me personally. It is nearly every show that this is brought up. STOP SLUT SHAMING!! It promotes a negative perspective on female sexuality. It is okay for women to want sex! HELLO it is OK for women to ENJOY sex. Just because a girl hooks up with Orlando Bloom doesn't make her a slut. It sounded like that girl probably enjoyed it just as much as he did. Taylor is NOT a feminist. She couldn't even get out and vote and she lied about it, she didn't go to the women's march IN NYC...and ALL the slut shaming. Just because she is in a relationship with a girl doesn't make her a feminist. She even commented on how TD's "feminism" bothered her because of the picture they took at the statue of the girl on wall street and how TD wore a feminism shirt and that embarrassed Taylor. TD also went to the women's march without Taylor.

I LOVE that question of the day and have thought about submitting something similar.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I cancelled my subscription months ago and was listening on the twitter link.
Since that went down I've been thinking about going back to Sirius.
However after this conversation I can't support her anymore.
I used to think it was schtick now I think she is the mean girl and doesn't have it in her to support other women.
Between her problem with every friend she had growing up; her SIL's, ICHOES, Victoria, Stephanie and never supporting female victims; all the evidence points to her being the problem.

Did you hear Taylor blaming stuff on the listeners today? She goes into meetings and they get onto her for not having a social media presence. She said her listeners are more Facebook people other than Instagram people. And it's all her listeners faults.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

The show was infuriating today. She spent the entire 3 hrs bashing various women, from the Middleton sisters, to Katy Perry to Amber Heard. The final straw for me, was when she said that she had heard not nice things about Haley Baldwin. When Emma questioned her about it, she said, well actually, it's really that my Taylor thinks that Justin Bieber song is about her. So nothing based in fact then?? She's always saying things like, I don't know why, but she bugs me, I don't like her, etc. After her boasting about being a super feminist, and telling Lori that someone accused her of not being a feminist for no reason, I just had to comment on the fb page. She is totally going to hate me, but whatever.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Random-assed observations from Friday's show (not finished- listening to On Demand):
As I was getting ready for a baseball game yesterday, I turned on the Friday show. In just a short period of time, I heard two things that had me shaking my head.
1. This one is silly but one that Taylor often talks about...You know how she is about people who become friends with her friends, without her (basically leaving her out)? She's always saying she doesn't like it if she introduces two people and then they become friends and leave her out? I know this is trivial but I had to laugh when she was telling Emma about "her friend Rachel O'Brien, who sometimes appears on Vanderpump Rules." Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that Stassi's friend? And wouldn't Taylor have a FIT if Stassi said the same thing on her show but left out the fact that it was really Taylor's friend first/too? (I just found it kind of ironic when T always talks about this issue...)

2. I was laughing my ass off when she got on the "I hate Julia Stiles" bandwagon again (when talking about why or why not movie sequels are good). She followed up with, "I also hate Guiliana Rancic...it must be the 'J' names."   LOLOLOL!!! Do you see the problem there?? Do they both start with J? (PS-why does she hate Julia Stiles so much??)

3. And UGH with the eating on the air still/again/in the future.

The 8 I hate:
    1. Eating on the air/Cocktail people (seriously...unless you are going to commit to posting the cocktail
recipe or tweet the websites, please know it's only fun for you and give it up!)
    2. Toof Talk
    3. Dr. Anal-lick
    4. Happiness Guru's voice /most of her advice
    5. Psychic anything
    6. I'm a feminist because I'm a woman who left a man and I'm dating a woman
    7. Hating on any woman who is perceived skinnier or cuter than T
    8. IN-LAW BASHING!!!
Bonus: Lori B. constantly gushing over Babs and "I love me some..." (I hate that sentence starter. Thank you, Megan C!)

What I love:
1. Rob Shuter
2. Surprise me topic- when it doesn't lead to: in-laws, mean girls, who T fought with
3. DR. WIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (She should be #1)
4. The callers!
5. Sometimes Robert Verdi (other times, not so much- the screeching can be a lot)
6. Guest interviews (most of the time!)
7. The Wednesday Boys Next Door
8. Clay Aiken!

OK...that's all I got. Not even that good but it bugged me in the short amount of time (40 min!) I was listening.

I think eating segments are a little strange for radio, but I have actually gotten 2 things after hearing about them on WUWT. The Bagel Shake and Bantam Bagels. Both were awesome.
