I don't believe this. Many hosts on Sirius are liberal and speak out against him. Poor Steph, only if she knew the s**t Taylor talked on her.

Producer Steph? I follow her on IG but can't find her on twitter...

So its October and her contract wasn't renewed. Can't say I blame them because all of our complaints are true.

I am so confused. On Thursday and Friday they were at the NY wine and food festival and even Carly said Friday at she renewed her contract. This must have happened on Saturday?!? One would think she would've have gotten business/legal advice and sirius' "ok" about the trip before announcing it. I doubt it was the sexual harassment talk. Everything she's said she has said before. Maybe she quit? On FB someone mentioned she might be Claudia's new host on Morning Breath?!? I doubt she would've quite Sirius for that...Idk it's looking like she probably got fired. I can't believe it happened so fast though...I'm so confused...It almost has to be about the trip. This sucks because they were just celebrating TD's promotion and everything. I still listened daily...I am cancel sirius today because now we really don't need it.
Yes you'd think she would have had the legal stuff covered since her manager Matt would normally check on those things, right? And it seems to me that Sirius higher-ups would want her to do other things as long as it doesn't interfere with her show because it would give them more exposure- more subscriptions bought because of Taylor.

Haha I caught that too- made me laugh a little. Like, if that's you trying to NOT talk about yourself, wow.

Whew, that was cringeworthy. There's a part where she was talking about taking TD out to Nobu or whatever because she's a baller...oy.
Random fashionista question: WTF is she wearing?? Rerun of the pj outfit up top, but the bottom half was giving me flashbacks to catholic school. No lie the 70-yr old nuns wore that same skirt and fugly shoes combo. Don't do it gal!

Gosh...this blew up after a walk with the dog! Of course, I thought about ‘reasons why’ the whole walk. I listened to only part of Friday’s “On Demand” with Carly (cause halfway through today it gave me ‘This episode has expired’ message and now it’s all gone!) but it’s clear on Friday that she has NO IDEA. They were talking about the Food and Wine Festival and how the audio would be on ‘next week’ (which is now this week).
Here are my theories, in order of guessing importance:
1. The inlaws finally had enough (and while they themselves probably didn’t listen, someone probably told them, “You are a daily topic of badmouthing”) and finally filed legal action against Sirius and Taylor. After listening to many episodes, Sirius decided to settle with them contingent upon firing Taylor as part of it (because it’s clear she can’t stop).
2. After listening to said shows (because of above), the execs from Sirius realized that she wasn’t actually prepared for her job each day, starting with the 7 things that she didn’t even read before she came in and stumbled through pretending she knew what they were. (This would include not checking her work email for 7 years, or however long she bragged about not checking it.)
3. Along the same lines, after her constant interrupting of the co-hosts they were ‘possibly’ paying more than Taylor to come in once per week (I’m thinking Clay Aiken and Carly/Emma), and the non-paid successful actors/actresses (Taylor Kitsch) in order to tell her stories, one of them finally complained to the bosses. They listened and much like Clay said they do on the View, she was sent packing.
4. The trip.
5. All of the above put together...
Good theories. I don't think it was the in-laws. She's been bashing them for years so why all of a sudden fire her for that.
I really do think it was this trip thing. I wonder if she'll take responsbility for whatever it was. Whatever it is, it was HER that caused this. At least that is what I think. They show was still going, people were signing contracts, it was something she did in the last week that prompted this....
And it had to be that trip. Otherwise she maybe wouldn't have deleted that post. She needs that trip/money more then ever now.

I haven't read through all 191 pages of the forum (finally got around to joining rather than just lurking!) but I think we all know (sadly) that the show has gone downhill since the departure of Kenny. Also- I agree with the people saying that her ego got the best of her.
1- You do NOT be snarky during live reads in radio. Ever. They were always a little sarcastic and rushy during the Wyndham reads back in the day but recently any of the "so glad you're here" hotel reads have been super snarky. She was saying things like "they make me say that" and scoffing.
2- Talking about looking for other work ON THE AIR at your job? Why? Why is she talking about how she is looking to do more work, clearly talking about her interest in doing television but also talking smack on the sly about Sirius? You did a Facebook Live show, Taylor. You were not on a network. Back it up. You are not on Housewives.
3- The desperation of wanting to be on reality TV. She made herself seem like a hanger-on with all of these (mildly) famous people. Stop, Taylor. Just be you. That's why we are all listening.
I LOVE listening to Taylor... as herself, though. Not as "I used to be rich" girl. Not as "I'm friends with Stassi" girl. Not as "My girlfriend is a skinny model" girl. Not as "I'm practically Jewish." Not as "My brother goes to Harvard." Not as "my dad is a doctor." We like TAYLOR as TAYLOR. She lost her identity and let ego/insecurity get the best of her.

ALSO desperately trying to hang on to other peoples' identities... She adapts the language of guests, people she works with, etc. and it drives me CRAZY. Like saying "gurl" the way Carly does. Or overusing "clap back." Or the word "obvi"... Taylor, you are 35 years old. Carly is more than a decade younger than you. Please, please grow with your listeners rather than trying to desperately cling to youth.
Ugh. Sorry. I needed to vent. Really all about Taylor and love her but FUCK I cannot anymore.
Maybe it was just time.

Welcome! And I agree with all of this 100%!!!!
Reading FB, a lot of people say they are cancelling Sirius over this. I understand that as it may be all you listen to, but do people think its going to bring her back? I just can't see her following being that big? Maybe I'm way off base though?

You think Clay complained about their on air discussion and the time she no-showed?
Offline
So I just remembered that Taylor's old Sirius boss is who owns the T&C hotel that she made a deal with for the trip. I don't know who that boss is, if she left on good/bad terms from Sirius or what, but it's possible that could have added to the sketchiness of the trip from Sirius' perspective.

Listening to that episode last week with Clay and how Taylor kept interrupting him was SO awkward. Maybe high-ups listened to that and felt like it was the final straw of her unprofessionalism and how she is constantly cutting people off. I think it was a combination of everything lately - promoting her other gigs, the trips, how she is so unprepared on a daily basis. I think the past few weeks probably all added up and they just decided not to renew her contract.
Offline
Honestly if I had anything negative to say about the side job situation (which I really don't because its not as though there aren't PLENTY of others on other stations/shows that have other jobs - kind of a lame excuse for her firing if you ask me) it would be that she called in sick multiple times after the Getting Younger shows. I don't think its bad to self promote or any of that but I get why it rubbed some people the wrong way. BUT.. if im being perfectly honest, I don like WATCHING taylor. I prefer the radio outlet. I don't want her to be worried about her hair and makeup and how she looks and her outfit and so on and so on I just want to hear her be her! UGH clearly im upset today. lol

Honestly, my guess is the sexual harassment discussion was a big factor. You cannot expect Sirius to be happy after you discuss your unreported sexual harassment on air several times. Especially since she discussed it recently in relation to the Harvey Weinstein mess.
Offline
Honestly, I think she was fired for a combination of a few things...
- Disrespectful to businesses advertising on her show. See my comment about live reads above.
- Increasingly unprofessional behavior. I understand that the whole cocktail thing is supposed to be cute and fun but Carly and Taylor yelling about being wasted while that poor guy (I can't remember who he was... not the Muddling Memories guy... Maybe a week or so ago) tried to talk about his wine was ridiculous. A couple weeks ago one of the guests mixologists actually said that he would not continuing serving them.
- The show lacks substance now. All she talks about is how she wants to be famous. She doesn't talk about anything relevant anymore... And she really speaks down to guests on her show (even Wider).
- The rotating co-hosts. We all knew that Kenny leaving was the nail in the coffin. Honestly, they were probably looking at getting rid of the show back when Cosmo dropped their name from the channel-- that's also probably why they didn't work with Kenny on a remote deal. Have you noticed how Taylor increasingly focused on people saying how her show was the only reason they listened? She knew it was coming.
I'm not sure what the last straw was but, having working in radio for more than a decade, I can tell you that a programming decision like this is not something that typically happens overnight. I'm sure they were planning it and maybe her extended weekend was the timing they needed to make it happen. This is also the time of year where programming cuts are made... Though their lack of a back-up show to throw in there says to me that a precipitating event occurred.
I almost wonder if her bashing Andy had something to do with it... Maybe Sirius was tired overall of how much smack she talked or the lack of professionalism.

Wowzers! I went to listen to OnDemand and couldn't find the show so figured I would jump on here and see what was going on. Sounds like this was out of the blue for her. If she was let go over the weekend, I could see her being devastated and not handling it well. As repetitive and annoying as the show got, I still listened. Just wonder if she will be addressing this at all on IG, I can see her getting rid of that too.

I've actually been wondering about this for a while. A few years back I worked for a large corporate bank, and long story short, this guy I worked with started sending me SUPER inappropriate text messages. I was only a year or two out of college, and was afraid to be "that" girl in the office, so I just ignored him and hoped it would go away. I was working late one night with my assistant manager that I was friendly with, and mentioned it to her in an off the record/just chatting between friends way, and the next day when I came in I was called into an office with her and my actual manager to discuss it. She said that even though I didn't "formally complain", since she was in a management position and knew about it she had to take action. All that is to say, I've been very surprised that even though Taylor didn't file a formal complaint about the incident with HR, that someone didn't hear it on air and address it.
Side note for what its worth, turns out the guy texting me was doing it to a handful of other girls in the office too. He got fired within the week and to the best of my knowledge the incident never negatively affected me or the other girls. I'm lucky I had such a great manager.

I've been a listener since 2009 and lurker here since right before the divorce announcement. I just never bothered to make an account because I tended to agree with pretty much everything here. I used to relate a lot to the show, but I'll admit the past 2 years I haven't been nearly as devoted and find it all a bit much at times. Although, I am sad I waited until the show was canceled to join.
My thought is the trip had to be last straw. When I read that flyer, the thing that stood out most to me (aside from the credit card emailing) was that the name of the show was used/affiliated in it and promoted like it was going to be broadcast from there. If she didn't get permission first, I could see that being against something in her contract, like you can't use the show to promote outside events.
Other minor things stand out too. Someone mentioned here that she said needed Monday off because she'd be tired from working this weekend (I didn't hear that show so I don't know), she obviously doesn't prepare for work too much, and just generally sounds like she was happy with doing the show and the pay. I've also noticed over the past couple years she talks about drinking a lot more than she used to and have wondered if this had an effect on her performance as well? Maybe showing up hung over?
I'm not too convinced it has anything to do with the back kiss convos, knocking Trump, or the in laws though. I don't know, I'm pretty much just repeating what everyone else is saying, but wanted to chime in anyway!

It is the trip and nothing else that did her in.

I am a long time listener and have loved Tay from the beginning. I don't think it is the E's per se. Maybe the repetiveness of the stories (along with every other story) got old. I don't think she ever talked about Daddy E going to the big house (prison) for dirty business dealings and that would have been a big deal. But it was in the papers here in NJ so it was public information and she never mentioned it. I give her kudos for that be/c I think she basically hated him. I bet she wanted to.
Second, I am in my 30's and I don't know anyone who talks about drinking as much as Tay. Like a college girl. Someone else mentioned it in another comment. Maybe it is embellished, but I have wondered on a number of occasions about all the drinking stories. And then she talks about how awful she looks a lot of days - like slobby. And brags about it!! Nicole always looks nice, if super casual. No need to be slobby. Maybe she just got too comfortable. And she has said on a number of occasions how she drinks a bottle of wine every night. Again, could be embellishment. I don't know. Sad.
Finally, and this is catty, I wonder if Babette is going to tell her everyone is jealous and that is why this happened. I hope for Tays sake that she owns up to her part in whatever happened and can learn from it. She never owned up to any part of her marriage breaking down and we all know it takes two to get married and two to get unmarried. She has often said she has never had her heart broken. Perhaps, as sad as this is for her, she can learn from this kind of heartbreak.
Finally, I too think the trip was the final straw for whatever reason. I wish the best for her and think she has so much potential. I will miss my morning drive w/her and all the co-hosts.

Conspriacy theories:
1) Brett's family finally had enough and threatened to sue Sirius and/or Taylor
2) Something happened Friday night at wine and food fest. She was there with Carly and Lance Bass (and Katie?). They were all tagged in photos on IG and now those photos are gone.
3) Sirius flipped when they found out her T&C trip was soliciting credit card info via a non secure site (or, even worse, non Sirius email). plus, this trip was connected to old Sirius boss who now owns said T&C resort. If there was bad blood/conflict of interest or even a non-compete with that old boss... this trip spelled trouble.
4) Unbeknowst to Taylor, these rotating hosts have been auditioning for the host position. Wake Up With Carly?
5) Tay went into contract re-negotiations with a balls-out request for an absurd raise knowing she is breadwinner in her relationship. She might have already been on shaky ground with Sirius. So they simply said no thanks.

Thank you for the welcome, Durst!
And not to come in and start talking mean about people, but I was scrolling through some of the Instagram comments, and for what it's worth, noticed that Crystal Clear Christine tagged Taylor's mom asking what happened. That stood out as really invasive toward the family to me.
