Welcome!!! I didn't hear the Maria story, that's gross. They have been through so much and seem like such a solid couple, why would she think it, let alone say it on the radio 😕
No, her story was to show than even the good guys can be perceived as creepy because of all the bad ones out there. He invited her up there to talk about work. She was hesitant. Then when she got up there, Maria either answered the door or was right there. There was nothing sexual about the invitation.
ETA oops just reread yours and the last post. I misread. You guys have got the right handle on the situation. Never mind me over here!

It will last as long as her Tuesday Periscopes did.

Nothing. Not a damn thing. She'll try to co-host other podcasts, Stassi, Claudia etc.... Then talk about trying her own. Then maybe do it on FB live. Then not do it...... Then post about doing it. I really think she needs a mentor more than ever. And by mentor, I don't mean a 24 yr old fanboy. A woman with a career maybe not in radio or TV media. Magazines maybe??? But someone that has no fucks to give and will actually teach and guide her.
The thing about T that I've always been kind of envious of is no matter what, she only fails sideways. She has such a great support system, I don't think she'll ever really suffer through, worry about rent, food etc.... thats where you get your hustle.
Think she'd ever move back in with Babette?
Hopefully she has a nest egg...isn't her rent steep?

Yeah, she just doesn't have the work ethic to really put into something, it's gonna be an easy platform, with the highest return she can get. I can't see her starting with a free podcast and trying to build it up, she'll go for a paid service.
I think if she really wanted to stick to radio, she would be hustling to local stations. She needs a strong co host and an audience that doesn't know her. The issue she'll have with a podcast, it's not automatic, get in the car same time every day and it's on. From the FB comments, the majority seem to be live listeners. If she can't keep it fresh and fun (which she hasn't been able to do it for a few years now) people won't download more then the first few, let alone pay for them.
I don't know much (anything) about Podcasts but I know Kate Casey mentions she is limited on # of episodes in a week based on her reviews.

Lori has connections, and I feel like she knows how to hustle. She could mentor if she could manage a little tough love.

What does that mean? Like youre amount of reviews dictate how many you can do? So I couldn't just start a podcast and do it daily?

Yep...she is always pushing reviews saying it's the only way to get more shows in a week.

But Lori, I don't think, has an objective view of Taylor. She fan-girls out too much about Babette. She does have connections, though.

I agree. She has the connections and knowledge, but I don’t think she could tell Taylor the things she doesn’t want to hear.

Huh, I wonder why? I guess so there isn't just a ton of stuff floating around? I'm totally gonna start reviewing the ones I like!

Yea. She needs someone that doesn't know her in this way. Someone that would consider it a job to assist her. She may be able to intern (Paid or unpaid) for a while if she can cover her bills. It's going to be a shock to the system though.

She never had to start at the bottom though, I don't know that she could swallow her pride that much. She's all about the imaginary hustle, it's gonna be a wake up to find out what it really is.

Her comments are probably because she wants to make money if she's going to put out multiple episodes a week. Anyone could put out 10 podcasts a day if they want but to get sponsors (and therefore make money) you have to demonstrate that you have loyal listeners.

You’re absolutely correct.
Her “hustle” and work ethic she’s demonstrated these past few years is performative.... smoke and mirrors.
She loved to drag Kelly Ripa about her not showing up to ONE show but mind you Tay is the same woman who bragged, multiple times on air, about throwing a fit and refusing a job Matt set up for her a day before or close to a holiday (thinking it was Xmas or New Years)
That’s not work ethic or hunger.
I’m actually disappointed in Tay for pissing away such an amazing opportunity. In 10 years time she should and could have had her own channel. I truly believe that.
She’s always had a safety net (rich parents, wealthier husband, divorce settlement) so there wasn’t a reason for her to feel that actual hunger to accomplish some of her bigger goals.

I agree. She could’ve built her brand and after ten plus years she could’ve become close to the Howard stern type. I don’t understand the side gigs, she should’ve focused on her time with Sirius and built that up. That would’ve opened more doors for her.

If she starts a podcast, she better have Matt give a tutorial on how to listen, because all of her psycho fans have literally NO IDEA what a podcast is, let alone how to even use the app.
And if she does do a podcast, it will one millllllliiiooonnn percent be patreon.

So now I'm wondering- were the side hustle's so important because she was already on shaky ground with Sirius for awhile? After what you said, micdrop, it just triggered my memory- you know how she always wanted people to repeat themselves so she could record listeners saying they only had Sirius XM for her show? She would say "you hear that bosses?" always kind of joke-y sounding- but maybe it wasn't. That coupled with the desperate attempts to get gigs OUTSIDE of Sirius makes me wonder if she wasn't already in trouble a few times before, and whatever recent event just occurred was the kill shot.....and maybe that is why she was sort of phoning it in on the show for quite some time- she might have known the gig wasn't going to last much longer.

Yeah, what if Sirius gave her an ultimatum "get your numbers to XX or your gone"....I think HR calls that a performance improvement plan? Still that wouldn't be an answer for an over the weekend surprise cancellation.

My husband and I have researched the hell out of the internet and can't find anywhere where there are ratings for Sirius XM shows, so I don't know. But where did Rob get his numbers? If they came from some sort of internal memo that co-hosts received then I believe him but with it not being public I don't know the ratings.....

Taylor has said for years Sirius doesn't do ratings. I looked into it awhile ago, and its because its satellite, the feed only goes one way so they can't tell what people are actually listening to, only that they are. She did say they track OnDemand shows, so maybe that's what she is talking about? Which if that's true, she may have a chance with a podcast if she can actually keep with doing one.
Offline
Other people have mentioned this but based on a lot of the comments in the Facebook group I think a lot of the diehards will really struggle with a switch to a podcast. Most of them seem to have been people who listened live and every time I've seen podcasts brought up there people have a million questions on how to actually listen to them.

I almost always listened On Demand and many people on the Surprise Me topics said they did too, so you might be right about that.

I listened exclusively on demand. I'm not on Facebook but definitely a fan of Taylor and really miss the show. It wasn't perfect, but it was entertaining and an escape in my stressful day. I do know how to listen to podcasts and that is what I'm listening to now instead of wake up. But anyway, I just called to cancel Sirius and the representative said he's spoken with several others over the week who have cancelled for the same reason. He told me that the show has been removed temporarily for holiday programming. That explanation doesn't make sense to me for a variety of reasons, and I told him as much. But he repeated it over and over again. He said I would be emailed if/when the show comes back on the air. Is it possible she has been suspended for some reason and there's a chance the show will come back?

I think the show is gone. Taylor has commented pretty matter of factly that she is no longer with SiriusXM, Rob said something like the thinks it's over, and Jenny Hutt said also said Taylor was no longer with the company. If it was temporary the announcements would probably be more vague.
Offline
Also if it was removed for holiday programming, why would they put someone else in her spot? Jenny Hutt is not holiday programming. Sounds like they are just trying to quell the people who are pissed the show was cancelled.
Offline
I think the CSR are getting bored with all the calls and just keeping it interesting. She's posted on IG she no longer employed by Sirius. And if it were just a scheduling issue, someone else would be lined up for that spot, Jenny wouldn't be filling in. I saw a FB post the other day they had just added 75 new channels, I think room is not a problem for them!!!
Welcome

i have a really dumb question...is Sirius and XM the same company, the same thing or two companies that became one? I'm asking because I remember when they used to announce the channels they would say something like channel 109 xm 107 or something like that its been a while...did two companies merge? i'm wondering does Sirius have the entire market for satellite radio?
