Not to state the obvious but, just want to point out we're coming to the end of week two with essentially nothing from Taylor. She can obviously post, so I'm not sure what they're thinking.

Whatever the situation is, it's bad- nothing from her and nothing released from Sirius after two weeks.....

Agreed.  I have found my new podcasts and the initial shock and interest are losing momentum.  We need to hear something soon while our interest is still alive.

After Kenny left, someone here mentioned Serial. I had never listened to podcasts, but was hooked after that. She's now been gone two weeks, that's 30hrs (geezus I wan to only work 30hrs in two weeks!) people have had to fill, attention spans aren't long, they'll be on to something else, but unless she comes out with some killer content, she's about to be a very distant memory.

On that note, can we please get some new topics here!! I enjoy you ladies and your thoughts on stuff, let's open up to more then Tay Talk!

I’m kind of over it now. I just keep coming back here to see what You witty ladies have to say. Even the Facebook crazies (they aren’t all crazy I’m just referring to the legit psychos) have nothing interesting going on.

If you need a podcast to try, look into The Morning Breath (very Millennial but they make me laugh), Straight Up with Stassi or my absolute favorite: The Bitch Bible with Jackie Schimmel.  All of these have had a tie in with WUWT at some point and have similar topics.  I think you guys will enjoy these.

Re: Wake Up Cancellled?!?!

Hey all, I am wondering what a ball park number is Taylor was getting paid At Sirius? I don't know if she can do better money wise just doing a podcast. I don't think its gonna pay the bills if she only does a podcast?

Re: Wake Up Cancellled?!?!

There’s an old thread on here about this and I think the number was around $80-100K or so?  Correct me if I’m wrong!  Good money but doesn’t go far when you have a $3000/mo apartment in NY and a serious Sancerre habit.

Re: Wake Up Cancellled?!?!

She use to say she didn’t get paid well though? Like oh people think we make so much money but we really don’t. 🙄

$80-100K isn't much for NYC tho...BUT is quite a bit for 4 hours a day of work. She must have received quite a divorce settlement to be living the lifestyle she does. She once admitted she didn't save well during her marriage. Spent her $ on clothes...if I am remembering the conversation correctly.

Re: Wake Up Cancellled?!?!

I agree. It's not that $80-100k isn't a lot, but it definitely isn't a lot for New York and having the same job in entertainment for over 10 years. It seems surprisingly low to me.

Re: Wake Up Cancellled?!?!

We live in the suburbs of NYC and although that would be decent with no dependents, it’s definitly not a lot. If I still lived in the city it would be “hard” to do so at that salary.

Average... For a luxury building. If she doesn't find a job (or sugar daddy), I wouldn't be surprised if she has to move to an apartment without a doorman.

Re: Wake Up Cancellled?!?!

In Manhattan I would say so. It’s been a while since I lived there (12 years) but I had a one bedroom in a non-luxury building that cost the same. She could easily live in a less expensive place in one of the other boroughs (most of my friends are in Brooklyn or Queens) but that would certainly not look good to celebrity friends.

100.000 a year is not good pay for 10 years! Living in the city alone is really expensive. I will have search this site for the old comments about this.
If she only made that much she could bounce back with a podcast for sure!
Remember not only did she work the mornings but it the time to prep for each show. Now she was a well oiled machine and so good at it I'm sure that was not hard. I do a radio show on FM radio for 3 hours once a week and I put time in planing all week. Its not easy, she was soooo damn good at it!!

I never got the impression Taylor put much time in prepping for shows, at least in recent years.  She'd have guests on and not even take the time to google them before interviews.  It seemed like most shows consisted of her reading headlines for the 7 things, and then rambling on about her old in-laws, or telling other repeated stories, for the rest of the show.

I think we were listening to totally different shows! While there were many things I liked about Taylor, prep was not a strong suit!

I agree. She didn't sound very prepared in recent months and I seem to recall her confessing to prepping a lot more during commercial breaks. I think her excuse was that she was busy working on other projects. I don't even recall many prerecorded interviews recently so it is hard to imagine her spending much time off the air working on WU.

Re: Wake Up Cancellled?!?!

That's a good point!  I remember Taylor and Kenny used to prerecord interviews a lot in the afternoons. In a lot of ways I think the show was better when Cosmo Radio was still around.  There was at least some structure then.  Taylor doesn't seem to do well with too much freedom... way too lazy.

She didn't prep for interviews. She misspelled interviewees names. She constantly confused networks, didnt know histories of guests coming in. She didn't do research on the news. She said to catch Dexter on HBO.....  What research was she doing exactly. I'm curious.

Re: Wake Up Cancellled?!?!

That girl never prepped  anything. She went on huffington post and read the news of the day and those were the seven things. All she was interested in doing after the show was eating, drinking, and watching tv--which is really hard to do according to that old podcast.

Also enjoyed Dans comment ahahaha

Not everyone on the FB page is a sheep- who knew? A woman posted a response to another woman urging everyone to continue to call Sirius about the show- and it's gold, she is my new hero

She wrote:

Having trained people in call centers in many different genres, I have a little insight.
Call center employees have quotas they have to meet and they can get written up, reprimanded and even terminated for taking too long on calls.
If they know you ar
e cancelling because the only show you listen to is cancelled and not coming back, why would they up their average time per call to try and keep you as a subscriber.
They have zero input on programming, and likely aren't even in the same building as the people making the decisions.
Managers that people usually speak to for issues have probably told them if they are calling to talk to me about Wake Up, just end the call.
What are they losing by ending the call?
A non-customer....no harm, no foul.
I am all for supporting a cause, but by now, this has likely become a joke and an irritation to the call center more than it is helping the cause.
If she was terminated from Sirius, (which seems likely, as to how it all happened so suddenly) not just the wake up show, so her coming back to any show on Sirius is likely zero.
They are also likely irritated with the calls because it is upping their need to staff the lines, costing them more money.
Irritation and higher cost usually does equal giving in, it usually does the opposite.
Plain and simple, it is like telling the person at the drive through window at McDonald's that you don't like the way they process their products.
These people make minimum wage or slightly higher and could really care less, and probably laugh at you with their co-workers between calls.
Facebook posts and tweets are probably a better option as there is no urgency or need at all really to answer a post, therefore it isn't hitting their bottom line.
Just my 2 cents.

Right! If a guest was promoting a tv show or movie, she knew nothing about it. A book? Forget about it! Every interview was turned into a topic that had zero to do with the guest.  She & Kenny used to do so many celebrity interviews. Those really dropped off recently.
