Oh that sounds good! My favorite pizza place does a pesto base, pears, carmelized onions, walnuts, blue cheese and a balsamic glaze. I want to see if I can do that in a grilled cheese!

Black bean brownies......anyone made any that actually taste like a brownie?

Anyone have any great Christmas baking recipes? Preferably stuff that can maybe be stored for a bit in the freezer?

I don't have any recipes that can be frozen...but does anyone have a recipe for sugar cookies that will both keep their shape in the oven AND taste good? It seems like the recipes that keep their shape taste like cardboard, and the super tasty recipes all puff up like big blobs. Help!

I need a good sugar cookie recipe too!

I make this no bake candy that is so delish, no clue what it's called, I just call it peanut butter crack:
1 lb white chocolate (I use 8 blocks of the white chocolste almond bark)
2/3 c of peanut butter
2 c rice crispies
2 c dry roasted peanuts
2 c mini marshmallows
Melt white chocolate (I do it in 1 min intervals in the microwave or you can use a double broiler) add peanut butter and stir until melted. mix dry ingredients in a bowl and pour PB mixture over top. Stir until coated and drop on wax paper (like no bake cookies) let harden. It's seriously addictive.

OMG my neighbor makes this and its SO good!
What about buckeyes? Can you make those ahead and freeze them?
Offline
Yeah you can def freeze Buckeyes! YUM
Oreo truffles are delish too, I'm sure you could freeze those too or just refrigerate them. They keep forever in the fridge

Also just any FYI, if I were doing cookies I would make the dough ahead of time, roll the balls and freeze them. Then bake as needed. That will taste way better than freezing already baked cookies.
Offline
^^^ I was going to say that. I think pretty much any kind of basic cookie dough can be frozen. Just roll/shape them and completely freeze them flat on a cookie sheet (not touching) before putting them all in a bag. Otherwise you'll get one giant conglomerate of cookie dough that'll take forever to thaw

I always do this. Then we can have fresh warm cookies anytime! Or there’s always cookie dough to eat. They don’t always make it to the oven.

I flatten the dough on a cookie sheet lined with plastic wrap. Then I roll it up into tubes like pre made cookie dough. Freeze, thaw, and slice just like the pre made stuff.
Yes, I cook.......and I do it well

Kenny gave his recipe for buffalo meatballs on the air once, it sounded really good. Does anyone remember what it was?

Ooh yes please! We're playing for the Big 10 championship tomorrow and I need some tailgate food. Buffalo meatballs sound amazzzing 😍
Offline
We are buffalo sauce freaks so I’m interested too!

Only if Kenny were here, he could help you.

Do you think if we dm'd him or emailed Open wider, he'd give it to us??

It won't be as good as Kenny's, but I cheat and get a bag of frozen meatballs, a bottle of Frank's buffalo sauce, and about half a stick of butter, put it all in the crock pot for an hour and then serve with ranch/blue cheese.

Let us know how they are! My husband loves enchiladas.

Great game, secco!! The badgers played a hell of a game. We were nervous wrecks the whole second half 🤢

Aagh, I know! Sucks that we lost, but you guys are good!!

Honestly, it could've gone either way! I was just sick those last 3 min, I thought for sure you guys were gonna score on your last drive. If we wouldn't have got that interception on 4th and 20 (lol how ironic) it probably would've been over!

Hahaha, I blame the ripping of the turf! It seems we'd just gotten our momentum back and then it was so rudely interrupted! I really don't even care about the football team.. I'm more of a basketball fan. However, after how badly the men's team shat the bed yesterday, they're dead to me. But, all in all, 🤝 congrats on a great day for Ohio sports
