Re: Nicole's New Show

Taylor could take some “hustle” lessons from Nicole. I wonder if they are even that close of friends anymore?

For a Mom of two kids with a radio show, she does a ton of extra stuff. I wonder why it’s ok for her to do side stuff, but Taylor wasn’t aloud?

That would make sense. She may have also written that stuff into her contract.

Taylor was allowed...Tay TV; Dining Under...she just never followed through. I don't think the side gigs got her in trouble. I think something happened at the Food & Wine Fest.

Re: Nicole's New Show

Or maybe Sirius is cool with a bit of side hustle but Taylor just went too far? Look how much extra shit she was trying to do- and dedicating a great deal of her Sirius radio show promoting it all. I knew when all that was going down that it could not be kosher to do that; if I were Sirius I would not have not been cool with how much she used their airwaves to promote so much outside stuff.

Life's a bitch...and so am I.

Re: Nicole's New Show

All of that side stuff certainly dried up after Sirius gave her the axe

Re: Nicole's New Show

She got fired because she took shortcuts. She wanted get rich quick schemes instead of working. Sirius had no problem with "projects" if you want to call them that. If they were successful they would have brought in more listeners to Sirius.

I thought maybe she would have learned something, but even now, Taylor is only posting if she’s connected to someone, Verdi, Stassi, Shep from Southern Charm, GWNJ etc... I don't feel bad for her, but I feel angry with her, because all she is, is a social climber.
She's not doing anything. She has none of her own ideas and frankly, I don’t think she’s ever going to "Make it" in any sort of showbiz unless she’s on someone else's coat tails.
This show that Nicole is doing isn't glamorous, its real. It doesn’t rely on cocktails, or a celebrity chef, or a realty show personality. She's not afraid to be who she is and that's why she is so much more successful and overall I think, happier.

I think being married to Brett gave T a false sense of celebrity, Her go to label is rich. Not talented, not happy, not genuine. Just rich. And by doing certain things, she thinks it makes her look or seem rich.  “I used to be rich” “My Team” “My Manager”  “My Attorneys” These are things wealthy people or celebrities have, but they don’t talk about them.

She is so immature. And being around a bunch of 20 something’s who never really had to do anything  either, doesn’t help.

So well said!!! This!!!

Taylor couldn't do WUWT alone. How will she do a podcast? Who will be her producer? Secure her guests? Edit? Maybe she has this all worked out...

Re: Nicole's New Show

Considering all of the above, I think Taylor's best bet would be to co-host for someone in radio or who already has an established pod. She'd have to get her ego/interrupting habit in check, but given her inability to create compelling content on her own I don't see how she's going to carry a show 100% by herself.

Yes, Exactly, but she has this hunger to be the star. She can't let go of it and that would be the best thing for her if she did.

All of this... all of it! I remember Taylor complaining that Brett would "use her celebrity" to like get a better table or something... like it bothered her. Like he was gauche and she would never do that. More and more I suspect that's not how that went down at all. She obviously used him to social climb. I doubt there is a lot that he couldn't access without her... that he cared to anyway.

More & more I think many Brett stories were not truthful.

I also agree with all of this!  It always seemed she got her social climbing ways from Babette.  Any time Taylor would mention her grandfather worked for Saks, she had to say it was much different back then, that her grandfather worked directly with designers, and one famous designer (I forget which one) was at her parents' wedding. It reminded me of Taylor inviting Selena Gomez to her wedding.   I wouldn't be surprised if Babette is posted up at Harvard right now trying to get close to Malia Obama.

Anyway, back to Nicole.... I really think Taylor could learn a lot from her hustle.

Re: Nicole's New Show

Anyone else listen to Stassi's latest podcast with Taylor? She called Taylor out on being lazy and told her she had to hustle and work through the exhaustion. Taylor said he would have possibly said no to season 2 of getting younger if she were asked because it was too hard while working at Sirius. I wouldnt know what to do with myself if I had her time. I know its different now, but boy did she complain about getting up early.  Umm I work from 7am to 4:30 pm and then I have to do household stuff. I could only wish I got off at 10 am for the same pay.
Sorry...a little built up rage venting. lol

Oh yeah that got me all ragey too... holy cow, does that girl whine about how nothing is her fault and life is so hard. I get up early for the gym, work all day and work from home at night because I wanted to be the boss. Bosses have to hustle harder. Get a grip Tay, life isn't supposed to be easy.

Hers was.  I think her plan all along was marrying rich. Check. And Enjoy a lifestyle that she thought she deserved. And I do think Mama ingrained this into her.

Absolutely!!! She was raised/groomed to be the wife of a wealthy professional. Her radio hobby was tolerated, but she would have been expected to quit once babies came.

Re: Nicole's New Show

I just listened. Really pissed me off. She is far from a hustler. I was going to I sweat all the jobs I have and the amount of free time on any given day but then realized that’s a waste of my energy. There were a lot of half truths on that podcast. Nicole definitely Hustles and I totally relate to her hustle.

Re: Nicole's New Show

It’s intereating that Sirius allowed Nicole to be filmed in the studio a little and use what looks like her own footage with celebs for the show. I’m curious if future episodes will show her more in the studio or not, since Taylor said that’s what kept them from doing a reality show before.

Re: Nicole's New Show

It's possible that Taylor might be right about not wanting the studio to be filmed when they were looking at a reality show. There may have been other factors that made that show not happen, too. But it's years later and Sirius may have been more willing to work with her.

Re: Nicole's New Show

Good for her! I watched it and thought the day in the life stuff was interesting. I didn’t care for the mommy guilt aspect though. I think we, as a society, need to do better on the whole mommy guilt thing and stop making women feel like crap about their parenting choices or what they are doing out of necessity, like working or staying at home. I guess if the show starts with mommy guilt, then it shows the internal struggle Nicole has about working vs being with her family. I just read Jennifer Fulwiler’s new book and it’s all about how can mother’s say yes to both their passion and their family. It doesn’t have to be one or the other, but that is how our society operates. I mean, it was very apparent the kids are very much loved and they have a great support system. Maybe that is just a way to introduce all of that.

I loved her new show and obviously, the hustle it took for her to get it done. I don't think the point of it was to guilt other mothers. She was expressing her own guilt, which is her truth. I think many moms feel that way; I know I did. When my daughter was little, she was quite an awful child/baby (colic, always screaming, etc.). I felt like a horrible mom when I was WITH her, and when I went back to work (because I had to), I felt like an awful mom when I wasn't. I don't care who told me "I need to lose the guilt', it's not that simple. However, I NEEDED to be at work for my sanity and for her safety (no lie). With my son, he was the polar opposite, and it KILLED me to leave him and go back to work. I wanted so badly to stay home with him when he was little... so then I felt the opposite guilt. Again, a million people could have said, "Don't feel guilty" but I still would have. (My husband always says I should have been born a Catholic cause I'll feel guilty because I don't feel guilty.)

I was also surprised that Nicole was able to film at Sirius and show the stars on her show. Makes me wonder how truthful Taylor was being about their first show? Or maybe there was another explanation...who knows. Whatever it is, Nicole has more hustle and drive in her pinkie finger than Taylor can ever think of. When she was leaving the red carpet at 12:30 AM and knew she needed to get up at 6:30 am for work, all I could think about was how Taylor would have skipped it all and stayed home with a bottle of Sancerre and Postmates because she's too lazy to do something like that.

Re: Nicole's New Show

I actually don’t doubt that Sirius told Taylor no about filming there. It doesn’t sound as if she was well liked by management there, so I’m sure Nicole had an easier time convincing them on her own.

Re: Nicole's New Show

I don’t really care for he mommy guilt side. I actually thought it was inauthentic. I’m not a mom, so this is literally me just being an asshole, but she said she felt guilty, but then said she was a mom that has to work for her sanity? Is that an actual thing?

Also, waking up at 5:30 is not excessively early. Sorry ladies. I’d take their schedules any day. Wake up at 5:30, work till 12. Three hours to do whatever’s? Sign me up.

But I am excited to watch it! It looks like it’s dojng good. Like 5000 views in 24 hours?
