Gah I'm so excited! I'm totally fascinated by cults. 😬
There's a podcast I really like about old Hollywood called You Must Remember This, and she did a whole series about the Manson "family". It was fascinating and I didn't realize how deep into Hollywood they got (they lived with one of the Beach Boys for a while!).

I need to go back to that one! I know I listened to the first episode forever ago, but for whatever reason I never finished the rest. Cults confuse and fascinate me - it's so crazy how easily people can be basically completely brainwashed. That Heaven's Gate guys eyes though...soooo creepy! 👀☠️

Totally creepy! I just listened to the first episode and did some Googling to put faces with names, and I found the video on YouTube they talked about on the podcast where they all sort of did their "farewell, earthlings" sign off before they died. It's SO weird.

DB - new pod called "Young Charlie" only one episode so far, but it's basically about how Manson became a psychopath!

Was thinking about something over the weekend - at what point do I need to stop listening to inappropriate podcasts in the car with my little one? I basically only listen to true crime (and kenny!) in the car. My little guy is 7 months old... So I think I have some time but I dread the day...

How is he 7 months already???? You were JUST pregnant!

Now would probably be good. At 8 months my little girl was trying to say words. By 15 months she was a little tape recorder.

Blah. He is starting with dada now - maybe I'll slow it down and only listen to that stuff when he's awake (thankfully most of the time he zonks out in the car!)

Since I mostly flip between Starz and Radio Andy, I didn't realize that the Jill Kargman show had switched to Starz. I can't find any dirt on this and hoping this doesn't mean that Radio Andy is on the way out. It's grown on me (thank you, end of WUWT) and I really like the crew. Admittedly, they're mostly Andy's friends and how long can that really last?

I was just reading the morning news (my own 7 Things!) and saw an article about a new podcast some of you might like since I know a lot of you enjoy crime-based casts. It’s called “13: The Search for Leigh Occhi.” It’s about a 13-year-old who went missing in Mississippi 25 years ago just as Hurricane Andrew was coming. Sounds interesting...mom is/was a suspect but not enough evidence. Case still open. Enjoy!

Ooh I wanna check that out! I just finished Someone Knows Something S3, it was good but only 7 episodes, need something new!

Thank you!!! I'm almost caught up on Emma and need a good story!

Does anyone listen to Small Town Murder? I started listening last month when I found out there was an episode that took place in my hometown. It's pretty funny. It's a comedy/true crime podcast that the guys just rip on the "bad guys" constantly. I'm not really into crime-y things, but this might be changing my mind. Glad this thread is here to guide me through what else to listen to!

Ooh, I watch Dateline every week- I'll be checking that out, how crazy that it's a local story!
I think I need to start a true crime podcast about an unsolved disappearance of woman from our town....her name was Mary Lang, she went missing in the 80's and it's never been solved. Our police chief has still never given up on it but just can't get anywhere. There is much rumor around town about who they think abducted and killed her, and he just died last year. There is so much folklore around it, I'd love to really dig more into it. Apparently there was either a Dateline or some other program about it at one time. It's crazy......

That makes me so sad for the families like they’ll never get any closure. I think it’s almost worse than finding a body or something is just never knowing what happened... randomly, we had another local murder case featured on Cold Justice a few yrs ago. Sounds like the same situation as your hometown story. Never got any closer to a real answer, and the suspect is v old now, I’m sure it will never be solved 😢

I'm going to add these to my queue! Also I just stumbled across a new one called Atlanta Monster the other day about a serial killer in Atlanta. Its really good!

i bought tickets to the KC show but we closed on our new house the friday before and that saturday all i wanted to do was start moving so I skipped it. I LOVE them though!!! I hated not going but life was crazy during that time.
I wanted to add that I live in the Wichita area of Kansas so I was looking at a 3 hour drive to go. Which was fine until we ended up buying a house and closing the friday before lol.
