John Candy had the farm two down from my Grandparents, so we saw him all the time, I don't think of him as a celebrity though, he was just a neighbour lol
Have you met anyone? What did you do?

I worked on Raddison cruise line, its the elite of the elite. I really thought people would be horrendous, but the majority were amazing. We worked long days in the shops and pax were always bringing treats and stuff in from the dining rooms. Never had that when I was on other lines!

My dad is a magnet for celebrities. We met Christopher Reeve and Cal Ripken at Disney World and he spotted Sugar Ray Leonard on the top of the Arc De Triomphe on Bastille Day.
When my mom, sister and I were in NOLA a few years ago, we kept seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger in our hotel with a posse of giant security guards who wouldnt let us close. My sister waited in the lobby (drunk) one night, he asked her to ride in the elevator and said “if you want to take a picture, better make it a selfie” - so she’s the current leader in the family challenge.

I met Pauly D a few months ago. He was on my flight and was sitting next to me while we waited to board. He was SO nice and cool!

Ahh! That's awesome. I always thought he was so adorable.
I don't think I've met anyone cool... I've met some political people through work, like former Attorney General Eric Holder and Justice Elena Kagan.

That's awesome you talked to him!
Daymond John did a Reddit AMA the other day and someone said they had sat next to him on a flight and were too nervous to talk. He's like "I remember that flight and was so bored!!!" lol

Lol yeah I was amazed I had the balls to talk to him. Normally I'm very shy.

Funny story- you'll have to be the judge of whether I "met" him or not after I tell you this....
My uncle lived in Cali so I used to go there in the summer to hang with my cousins, I was 17 and had been a fan of 90210. We are spending the day in Malibu and I'm walking along browsing in shop windows when a guy steps out of a store and almost runs into me. He's like "Oh, hey- sorry! Didn't see you there!" I look up at the guy, and it's David Sliver from 90210, aka. Brian Austin Green. I freeze and just stare at him for a few seconds. He kind of laughs and is just looking at me, too. I say NOTHING, just flip around as quickly as I can and practically run away, lmao! I have no idea why I didn't say "Oh that's ok!" or like "Hi" or anything- it just jolted me to see a famous person so I fled from him like he was a demon..... aww, memories.

When I was in 6th grade I met all of arrowsmith. Had no idea who they were? 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ It was when their Disney world ride was just opening.

He was already getting pretty hot back in 1997, too, lol- I guess that explains my odd reaction.

Oh yeah! And those EYES, he has the most amazing eyes- that is how I recognized him so quickly. He was better looking in person than any pic I'd ever seen. It's probably best I didn't say anything at all because I'd have been a total tool if I had- it would have been like Anna meeting Hans in the movie Frozen ("I'm awkward- you're gorgeous!") I asked my cousin (who was with me and is from L.A.) why was he in that store? Like, how on Earth did I just see BAG? And he was like jesus, nerd, celebrities go to stores- they do everything regular people do. LMAO! I had no idea!

I haven't met anyone SUPER famous or that I really care too much about. I've met a handful of golfers because my husband works in the industry, but I don't even remember most of them because I just don't care. I don't even know who they are until he tells me. I was at a golf charity event recently though and got to meet Kara Keough (Jeana from Housewives OC daughter). I was super nervous to go up to her bc I didn't want to seem like a psycho but she was SO nice and we actually ended up having somewhat of a "real" conversation for a few minutes.
I met Joe Manganiello and got a picture with him. My husband and I got invited to the grand opening weekend of the Hard Rock resort in Punta Cana, so he was there for their "red carpet". I'm not a huge fan of him, but I was really into True Blood at the time so it was kind of cool.
My parents' neighbor/good friend is Tiger Woods' manager- famous by association? My dad flew some of the planes in Top Gun. He said Tom Cruise was a jerk and Kelly McGillis was ugly without makeup.

This area is kind of a hotbed for football players. I’ve met several NFL guys most of which were just like us. Emmett Smith was a complete tool though. Boxer Roy Jones Jr. was super cool, he loves hanging out with blue collar guys.

There are a lot of football players in the panhandle?

I'm a Cowboys fan and always loved Emmitt Smith as a player, obvi, but I know other people, too, who have met him or know him, and they agree that he is a straight up freak, and total douche.

Where our house is in Eleuthera affords us to spend a lot of time on Harbour Island (however, my checkbook does not afford me the ability to live there!) and that is a playground for the rich and famous. I haven't met the celebrities but I've shared air with them...or even tried to run them over with my golf cart, most recently Sienna Miller. Lenny Kravitz travels in the same circles as all of my friends since he has a house and studio up the road, so it's just a matter of time until we are at the same party (I'm not down there enough yet to BE at the parties, but wait until the house reno is over!)
Having said all of that, my one claim to fame is that I went bear hunting in Alaska with an NBA player and his brother about 30 years ago. He played for the Seattle Sounders. I think that was that their name as they are gone now. He then played for and the Phoenix Suns. I'm old AF so I'm sure no one remembers him.(Tom Chambers)
And Danny Glover was in the lobby of my sister's wedding!
LOL...see, famous people+air I breathe. I must be famous too! LOLOLOLOL

Several have come from the Pensacola area , emmitt Smith, dereck brooks, Danny wuerfull, just to name a few. I grew up across the street from Tom Hammonds. He held the basketball scoring record at Georgia tech at one time, he played for the Denver nuggets in the NBA, when he retired he drove pro stock cars in the NHRA. He used to hang out at our house sometimes because my father drove dirt track cars at a semi pro level for about 20 years. And our family had a pretty well known auto shop for almost 50 years. We are all a bunch of gear heads

I was a shop foreman for a large auto dealer group in Pensacola for 11 years. Athelets and their girlfriends love nice cars. And we’re treated like royalty because Pensacola is such a desolate cess pool. They often had their athlete friends with them because they would deep sea fish, and hang out on Pensacola beach, destin, orange beach, and Panama City beach.
Here you are either ultra rich, or considered the dregs of society.

I sat next to Beetlejuice (from Howard Stern) on a flight once from Milwaukee to Columbus, closest I’ve come to “celebrity” lmao 😂. My husband used to run the meat & seafood dept at Whole Foods in Aventura and he met a bunch of celebs there, he met Boyd Tinsley (DMB) and he said Manny Ramirez used to come and buy octopus’ like almost every day.

Speaking of football players...just this afternoon, I went to meet with my PT who is also my friend. Her significant other is a personal trainer (and a friend of mine, too) so we went to the adjacent gym to say hello. He was working out with Dan Skipper, a Detroit Lion and the tallest player in the NFL at 6'10" (and also a friend of ours/mine). I thought of you guys when I got in the car!

I've met quite a few through work. Some randoms that come to mind: Michael C. Hall and David Zayas from Dexter (fav show ever! I was so excited!), Tyra Banks, Macklemore, Ray Romano, Bobby Cannavale, the Hanson Brothers from Slapshot (woo!), Kaka, Alexander Ovechkin, Felix Hernandez. The last two guys I dated were both super F-listers if that counts for anything. Ha!
