What would you pay (extra) for?

In the spirit of starting a new conversation, and Taylor saying she paid $15 for Postmates to deliver Wendy's chili and $25 for a double scotch but hates tipping the delivery guy, and thinks it's outrageous (my word) that they are now charging for extra toppings on pizza in NYC (ummm... it's always been that way where I live!), here's the question:

What are your non-negotiables (or what WOULD you pay for) when it comes to paying for things?

I just moved 600 miles and my non-negotiable was hiring guys to load and unload the moving truck. I was fine to box things and have my husband drive the uhaul, but I refused to load everything, or let him load everything. We work hard for our money and I like to use it how I please. lol. Husband agreed when we got to our new home and is was 10 degrees, snowing and windy. Wifey for the win!

Re: What would you pay (extra) for?

Shipping fees- I won't pay them anymore! I'm a spoiled Amazon Prime brat and I'm used to shipping fees not being a thing anymore. If I have to order from a non-Amazon site, I will scour the internet looking for a free shipping code, or I will buy extra shit to get to the dollar amount where shipping becomes free. That seems nuts, but I'd rather get something for that extra $15 then pay a shipping fee.....

Re: What would you pay (extra) for?

Same with the movers! Last time I moved, I hired movers. I’m totally ok with telling friends I won’t help them move, no one helped me!

I always do park and stay when traveling. We always leave crazy early and even though we’re only 1/2 an hour or so from the airport. I like getting there the night before, having dinner, a swim, couple of drinks in the hot tub, justvstarts the vacation off better!

Re: What would you pay (extra) for?

Ah yes, traveling... I know there are probably better airlines, but I hate paying for my luggage to go with me, therefore I usually travel on Southwest. Luckily, they usually have great deals and direct flights from where we are, so it's not a total hardship.

On the flipside, I typically buy the early bird seating, because I also hate sitting in the middle seat! HAHAHAHA!!!

I hate paying for parking or valet....but as I get older (and have a little extra money) I find my self giving in, instead of walking extra blocks... but only if it is reasonable.

Re: What would you pay (extra) for?

I will pay extra for almost anything convenient. I’m terrible with money because it all comes down to what makes my life easier. I’ll buy chicken cut into strips so I don’t have to cut it myself, Direct TV just so I don’t have to deal with the hassle of trying to figure out Apple TV and Hulu or whatever, diapers to be delivered. Seriously I’m ridiculous.

No shame with the diaper delivery- Diapers.com was my savior, lol. Dragging a baby to the store in winter to buy diapers because you have run out- no way. I also buy the already cut chicken.

I am with you. My life can be very chaotic due to my job, so I am all about paying for convenience. I recently started using Amazon Home Services in my apartment to install my AC unit (116lbs!), hang heavy art, etc. I like being able to do things independently, but when I can’t I really don’t want to go through the extra effort of coordinating with my friends’ schedules to get something done. Also, like the poster above that way I don’t have to help them 🙃 (but real talk I am always the first to offer to help someone move, just would never ask anyone to help me).

I recently push myself on a budget though 😦 $300 cash budget every 2 weeks for non-housing/utility/transportation. It officially started Feb 15, so we’ll see how it goes.

I have to put myself on a budget too! It was my New Years resolution but I’m behind. March 1 it is!

Re: What would you pay (extra) for?

I refuse to pay shipping fees. I find Dillard’s and VS are the worst. Like if im spending over $100. I should get free shipping.

My splurge is wine, not crazy expensive or anything. But I’ll by a $17 bottle on a random Tuesday

For the people who put themselves on a budget, I went half vegetarian and it’s saved me so much money! I essentially live on kale and cheese salads. Healthy and cheap!
