Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I think the recipe is hidden on her blog somewhere too....you might have to hunt for it, but maybe not. People have been asking her for years to share it.

She also had some Brussels sprouts recipe people asked about all the time.  Sharing a simple recipe would have been such an easy way to stay active on social media!  She LITERALLY (in my best T.S. voice) never interacted with her listeners, then wanted to scam them out of $1400.

FKCST - thanks about the name.  It made me a bit nostalgic too!

I have some catching up to do on here, then I think I may have to see for myself what's happening on the FB group.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I’ll revive this thread....

I don’t ever listen to the shows with Lori Bergamatto (I quickly found when she started that I had a very, VERY low tolerance of her TS ass licking and constant fawning over Taylor’s parents). However, I caught a little of Thursday’s diet conversation and continued listening mostly because I was curious why LB was doing the Whole 30 diet. I was quite taken aback to hear that Babette is on the Medifast diet. Taylor made it sound like it’s doctor supervised, but online it looks like you can order the “low glycemic, low calorie, low fat” meals and snacks just like other weight loss plans offer.

My first thought was no wonder Taylor is a mess with her body. She has a beautiful mom who is definitely NOT overweight yet is constantly on a diet. And we have heard all of the stories over the years about how young T was when Babs started dragging her to WW.

I’ve always had body issues (what woman hasn’t?) but I can tell you that I am so thankful for having a mom who always told me I was beautiful no matter what. I was flat out overweight in high school and college, yet she used to say, “You are beautiful and just big boned, sweetheart.” Thank god I grew out of that stage! I’ve been all over the map weight-wise, and after some extreme health issues (seizure related) in my early 40s that caused a dramatic weight loss, I realized that sometimes it’s not about weight and how you look. It’s better to be alive and with those you love, enjoying life while you are here.

If you are young and having kids, especially daughters, I hope you are able to do what my mom did, and not Babette. I think poor Taylor will forever spend her days worrying about food and weight instead of being happy in her own skin.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I disagree. She took her to Weight Watchers which isn’t a bad thing. They teach you about food consumption and calories. It’s important to be at a healthy weight. If you start good habits in high school and college it will stay with you.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Well, it clearly wasn't a positive thing for Taylor. It's led to a lifelong obsession with her weight and perpetual self loathing and body dysmorphia. Maybe WW is good for some people, but I think Taylor would have benefitted from being told that she was fine the way she was, and a Mother who didn't model dieting behaviours and weight obsession herself. And is Taylor practicing healthy eating now? She's constantly yo yoing between starvation diets and overconsumption. She's not a healthy advertisement for WW, that's for sure.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I have a mom who also told me I was beautiful no matter what, and each time I saw her when I was away at college, she would always comment that it looked like I had lost weight, even when I had clearly gained. I wish my mom would have encouraged me to watch my weight, and the importance of exercise. I am now the heaviest I've ever been after having my first child. I have tried a handful of times in the last 10 months to lose some weight, but each time my milk supply plummets. Breastfeeding is more important to me right now than looking good. I've learned to be ok with where I am now because my mom/family has always told me I'm beautiful no matter what, but it does make it hard to get that motivation to do something about it.

sorry for the long post - feels good to get that out.

Anyway, in short, I think there needs to be a happy medium. I think educating about diet and exercise is great, but Babs taking Tay to WW was inappropriate, in my eyes. Tay didn't stand a chance when it comes to accepting her body with a mother who obsesses like Babs. Truly sad.

I think the problem is Taylor has a Kim K body  but wants to look like an Olsen twin.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I grew up with a similar mother, always working out, watching what she ate, talking get about diets and fat and it’s messed me up. When I lived on my own and could have what I wanted I went insane, it took a long time to get over that and only in the last few years have I been able to keep my weight in check and look at food differently. It’s still a struggle and something I always have to be concise of or I slip quickly.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Promoting awareness of food and nutrition and calories is generally a positive thing, but it seems that Tay's mom takes it to an extreme and focuses on only THAT for weight maintenance/loss. There clearly wasn't any emphasis put on the importance of physical activity, which probably would have helped a lot. Regular PA helps you have more flexibility in your diet if you want to regularly incorporate things like wine 7 nights a week. It seems that the two of them are always looking for the "quick fix" or the easiest way to drop weight without actually doing anything, at that's neither sustainable nor effective.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I’m not sure how I feel about her mom taking her to WW in high school, but she also just recently told the story of when she came home from college and gained the freshman 15, Babette refused to take her shopping because she didn’t want her think is was ok.. i see where she wouldn’t want to spoil her but i think the psychological impact was more about the weight and less about spoiling her.

Also- i think the diet Taylor was talking about was different than just the medifasf online program. It sounds more like the growing trend of weight loss clinics that are “medically supervised” and they give them a meal plan but also do b12 shots, phentermine, hgh replacement, etc for rich ladies who think they are fat and want the good meds

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

It was definitely about her weight. She didn't want to "enable" Taylor by buying her clothes at that weight, which I think is a messed up message.

Taylor said her freshman 15 was more like a freshman 45 if I remember correctly... that's why Babette didn't take her shopping for new clothes. When someone gains a tremendous amount of weight in a short time, there is obviously something the matter there. That said, I don't think Taylor ever listened long enough to understand the calories/exercise bit if WW. I think being a spoiled, entitled brat probably didn't help, but she will never be in control of her body if she keeps insisting on living a totally out of control life. You're not supposed to drink every day, or eat at restaurants every day, or eat until you shit yourself. My opinion on the great calorie debate is that kids need to be taught how to eat properly and how to lose weight when they need to or gain if they must, but never should they be told they're good enough without trying. Yes, tell them they're beautiful and wonderful creatures, but when a kid knows she's fat, it's not going to help to lie to her. (Source: was a fat kid, still learning how to eat right and not too much.)

Completely agree!!! "but when a kid knows she's fat, it's not going to help to lie to her."

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I have mentioned before that this is not just a problem that women face. Men are also held to just as much of a standard as women.

My mother (at 70 years old) is still fanatical about her weight. It is a broken record that I grew up with, and still hear her spout about  to this day. Yes, it made me very self conscious of my appearance. And, I am still weird about it to this day.

I dropped the weight. In fact I went way overboard. News flash: it does not make you any happier. Because no matter how successful you are, it will never be enough. I am a big fat guy again. Do I like it? No.......but, at least I can eat like a normal human again. No more cardio marathons. No more calorie counting, no more monitoring micro nutrients......some of the things that I did to my body are irreversible.

Be yourselves ladies. Real men accept you for you. Take care of yourself, but, do not obsess. Eat chocolate, drink wine, watch bad tv, and bang your significant other every once in a while. Live your lives.....

I know this is easier said than done, but give it some more time. I have 3 and my youngest is 8 months. With my first I only was able to lose weight once I stopped BF. I just couldn’t lose. My younger two had all sorts of food allergies and As a result both times I’ve been on a restricted diet and lost weight but I feel like crap. You will get the motivation and energy to do something back, but it’s taken me at least 12 months each time. And with my youngest it may even take longer to get back to a healthy lifestyle because I’m so tired.

Irony at it’s best:
Considering Taylor’s stager saying Megan Markle is so basic, and how she thinks her choices of clothing are even more basic (which is laughable considering the banana pajamas and the palm tree silk Hugh Hefner outfit), I thought this Twitter “like” was kind of funny!

On one of the shows this week Taylor mentioned she worked with a friend who never seemed happy for her success.  Was that Nicole?

Yes, Nicole. However, what Taylor means by her “success” is her marrying Brett and living a rich life and being friends with Stassi.

How does an adult woman get into so many fights?! Jesus. And again with the entitlement of sitting wherever she pleases. It's like the same scenario as when she sat herself at a table in a restaurant and got in a fight with the hostess. It is so unattractive.

Is this her Dina Lohan story?  I saw her post about almost getting in a fight with her on Instagram... Haven't listened to today's show yet.  I agree her behavior is so unattractive... gross even.
