My husband told me I smelled like a lesbian LOL he hates it. But I like it enough to use the sample bottle at least.
Thanks for letting me know Nat &OP! Now I don’t have to order a sample. I know perfume can be expensive, but when I saw the price for a whole bottle, I was a little surprised. Too “rich girl” for my blood.

Sooo I’m torn about this. I sell BeautyCounter as a side gig because I like the product and I get a discount on it. I actually don’t buy inventory (that’s not the business model) and get cut commission checks if people buy and just link me as their consultant. It doesn’t earn me a living, but it does for a close friend. She’s actually in Miami right now for an incentive trip. Technically this is MLM and follows some of the concepts talked about in the Dream (I’m on episode 3...totally addicting)...but it’s also a company that lobbies in DC for better regulation in the food and drug industry, removes harmful chemicals from beauty products that are banned in other countries but not here, and partners with some great non profits.
So my point with all this is yes it sucks to ask family and friends if they want to buy (I barely push my business for that reason), but with all the good that this company and probably others do, is it fair to say all MLM’s are evil?Well, I guess my biggest thing- especially if a company has a quality product and wants to actually do good- is why then choose the MLM system to sell your product? If it's really good, why can't I buy it at a beauty counter, a department store, or hell, even at Target? Why would you choose to use a system to sell that has been proven to be predominantly financially terrible for your sellers? That doesn't make sense to me. It can't be really about empowering women (as so many companies claim) because you know the vast majority of the women who sell it will not make money. So that is why I've come to a no MLM product stance; if you want me to buy your product, get it into a store, and stop scamming people. I now question the ethics of any company who chooses this sales model.
So actually in the case of Beautycounter in particular they have done a partnership with Target, and they often have Pop Up shops (there's one in NYC right now), but it's much less expensive as a company to work this model. I used to work in big name cosmetics and I worked for Tarte when they were first starting out. It took so much money to get that up and running to what it is now....I worked there in 2003. Beauty counter has grown exponentially in just a few years.
I realize that if you are highly again MLMs nothing will change your mind. I just think by lumping everything together it's a broad generalization. They may not all be taking advantage of the poor, the vulnerable etc. I have a thing about safer skincare, and frankly my retail options up until a few years ago were rather limited. In the case of BC, it gives people the actual opportunity for safer skincare when they may not have access to that very easily or affordably.
On the flip side I also did sell Mary Kay at one point to help a friend meet her goals. I did it for a year, hated the product, and that's the queen of MLM's. But she loves the business, has been in it for 10 years, and makes enough money doing it that that's her only job.

This is my point - some people really do make enough money to have it be their only job and make a decent living. So what if it's for a MLM company.
I work for a company that is not a MLM model and while I have a decent salary for where I live, they could pay me a hell of a lot more. Those at the top are making major money, same as those at the top of a MLM, right?

I also hated the Santal 33, thankfully I only ordered a sample! I did however order the baccarat 540, and that is AMAZING. Andrea was not wrong on that one, well worth the splurge for fancy occasions.

I love Vanderpump Rules but I agree with Andrea Lavinthal it’s not as much fun this season with everyone getting along.

Taylor is moving the show from 9-11 as a trial but NOT b/c she "doesn't sleep well and gets sick a lot" that is not the only reason they are moving the show (insert eye roll) but now that Donny has joined the show, that's what he wants to do.

Yeah right Jackie.
I commute early...I'm on the road before 7 AM. Once Taylor left the Facility, I started listening to Howard. He said something the other day that made me think about Taylor and why it's such a bad idea to move her time slot. According to Howard, in radio, you want the morning slot. That's where the successful radio people are. The non-successful radio people have shows after the morning drive time. I know that Taylor's show is not exactly traditional radio but she does talk news and other topics. If she waits until 9, she is delivering old, out-dated news already. Especially for people that have to wait until the live show is over due to data concerns. By the time those people can download it, you are talking after lunch.

So when she still complains about being sick/lack of sleep what will they do then?

Love or hate Howard, he has a strong work ethic—it’s how he got where he is today. Taylor wants what he has but isn’t willing to put in the work.

With all due respect to Howard, I call bullshit. I've listened to him on and off since 1993 (when his show replayed on WBCN in Boston at 7 PM), and I have heard his opinions about morning radio many times over the years. While it may have served him well in his career, morning radio is simply not what is was when he was coming up. Podcasting has exploded in recent years, and just like TV, people are moving towards listening to shows when their schedules permit. Also- Howard does, what, 10 shows a month now? And he moved the start time from 6 am to 7 am.

I don’t think the news is a big deal, she always a few days late or has the store wrong anyways.

I guess I'm just old school. The only time I can listen is when I'm in the car. That's how I first got into Taylor when she was on Cosmo Radio. It was the best...no matter where I was going during the day, I could usually listen to Taylor. Howard is typically live 3 days a week now but his shows are 4 hours long. So he does about 12 hours a week to Taylor's 10.

I am up early in the AM too and would love if there was a podcast/radio show or something that was live where I could hear breaking current news, weather, etc. Something to get me going in the morning. I don't have the TV on while I'm getting ready so I don't watch the today show or anything like that. At the facility back in the day I loved the 7 things you need to know before you go on the hour.

I just can’t get into podcasts—I realize that’s just me being slow/unable to adapt. Howard can get away with so few days because he’s built such a loyal fan base that will take what they can get. They’re happy he’s not retiring altogether. I don’t think he would have been able to do this after being in radio for only 15 years.

Heather M is moving to NY, so I have a feeling that she might be on more. Also, she's starting a podcast, but I haven't heard any more about it.

I hope Heather is on more love her!!!! I’ve heard Taylor say before that Alex T. was a chief and a comedian? Really? I just don’t get that vibe from her.

I decided to pick Monday to give listening a try again. It was fun for awhile but by then end...oh boy...it was every reason and more filled with reminders of why TS makes herself so unlikeable. And why I don’t listen regularly anymore 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Highlights (Lowlights, actually):
1. Saying she would cheer for the Rams if there was any way Stassi and Beau might happen to get tix to the Super Bowl— because she’s a ‘star fucker’ and wants to go too.
2. Telling Sean to ‘fuck off’ or ‘fuck you’ repeatedly/over and over and over and over (same thing, but I can’t tell you how tired I was hearing it!) because he was sharing HIS feelings about Tom Brady and the Patriots...5 minutes after she said she didn’t know if she wanted to cheer for them!
3. Spending 10 minutes outlining all of the ways she deep-stalked her ex-SIL (even telling on herself how she was saying her baby looks like Brett and criticizing that it wears ugly clothes); completely talking shit about the SIL’s BRAND (flat out laughing about it and her number of followers) and her usual ‘poor me’ with the whole in-law treatment...AND THEN whining like a bitch baby as she told the story about someone (who she is positive is the same SIL) commenting on that Radar Online story about her and Stassi and criticizing HER?? Horror of all horrors... She actually said, “Can you believe she wrote that on a public forum? I only talk in this safe space!” (Might be paraphrasing a bit, but it was really really close to that!) I mean, you know, Sirius was such a safe space...no one had access to hear it (only the US, Canada and some dude in China) and of course, her purportedly 22K listeners now. Please, girlfriend. No comparison.
4. She wouldn’t call herself a lesbian. She would only admit to dating a girl. Listen to her retell the Andi L. story leading up to the whole SIL debacle.
After 10+ years of listening I know I can check out for months at a time and she hasn’t moved forward at all in her life. (I wonder what her friends from college-minus Nicole- think?)

I have actually been able to listen live with the new time slot and she is driving me nuts! I don't mind Priscilla but WHY does Taylor have to talk like her?! She doesn't talk like that with any other host. It is beyond obnoxious.
Also, I think she has been watching too much Sex and the City. Anyone else notice she keeps posing questions the same way as Carrie Bradshaw?

I think Alex should stick to cooking. She truly seems gifted in that area, but I don't find her funny. If you watch her videos, she certainly cracks herself up, but I don't get it.

Priscilla is unlistenable. I cannot stand the affected speech, and the fact that Taylor then mimics it, makes for an insufferable show.

I dont mind Priscilla talking like that because thats who she is but Taylor mimicking it is just pathetic. You don't talk like that when Lori Bergamatto is in the studio. She just does it to try and sound cool - it comes off desperate. She is just trying to hold onto Priscilla because she knows she has connections with bravo stars.

Alex prides herself on being a story teller. 99% sure most of the stories are made up and still pretty blah. I like her overall, but agree that she should stick to cooking.

I don't find the verbal affect seems authentic with Priscilla either. She speaks normally most of the time. Also, she's Italian, so it doesn't seem like a cultural thing. Just my opinion. I have a hard time understanding what she's saying when she launches into that speech style. So that's annoying.

Hmmmm... I’ll have to listen on a Priscilla day. Haven’t done that yet. I will have to say I listened for a few minutes on an Andi day after reading lots of great comments about her (haven’t done a whole show yet) and after, I looked her up on IG. I was pretty surprised that her voice did NOT match at all what I had conjured up in my head what she would look like! She’s pretty darned adorable...I was convinced she was about 50 years old. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🙄
