Ok so I just got a chance to listen to part of her Town Hall with the cast of TAG. Do yourselves a favor and listen. You can tell that Michelle actually researched the people she’s interviewing and those are some pretty big stars. I know we’ve said it before but this is who Taylor had the potential to be but she just never put in the effort.
Michelle is definitely awkward at some points when interviewing guests but it never feels desperate. Just funny. She’s self-deprecating but in a way you can actually relate to. And she does run in celebrity circles and have actual famous friends but never brags about them.

I listened too! She did great. I'm a big fan of Jon Hamm and Jake Johnson- can't wait to see this movie.
The first hour of the show today with Sophia Bush put me over the edge a little. I wish MC would either cut back on the political talk a little, or change her tone when she does talk about it. I think she comes off very condescending and self congratulatory, and dismissive of anyone who's views aren't exactly hers, like when she says "if you don't agree I just can't help you" or "you must be stupid". Its just not the most productive way to have a conversation if that's what she's really trying to do.

That doesn’t bother me (although I didn’t listen to the first hour) because my views do align with hers. She vocalizes what i sometimes think privately and don’t share because i want to keep my friends. But I totally understand what you are saying. It’s really hard for anyone who has a platform I think to be somewhat neutral to appeal to both sides. Because certain areas (politics, religion, money) are so heated. So I bet that does drive some listeners away.

I actually don't have a problem at all with what views people have, whether they align with mine or not, I just have a problem with how they deliver their opinion. It can be done in a way that doesn't involve name calling. I take issue with that approach on both sides, it just isn't constructive and is the fastest way to make people angry and unwilling to listen to what you're actually saying.

Completely agree, Durst. You said it perfectly. I don't care one way or another on their opinions or views, but putting down those opposite of you is counter-intuitive, IMO. While I have been pleasantly surprised with MC, I do find her trying too hard often and definitely condescending. But overall - enjoy the show. But it's not one I HAVE to listen to every day.

Amen DB et al! Thank God for the fast forward button on the new app. When she starts talking politics, I fast forward. It's the one thing keeping me from falling head over heels and screaming her praises.
She's completely uneducated about politics and obviously believes whatever she reads on facebook. Reminds me of another morning talk show host! lol! I'm all for being passionate about your beliefs, but she needs to do a little more reading for legit sources and maybe perhaps listen to the other side to be fully engaged to speak on it. Makes me wonder if that's why she couldn't hang on the view.

DB I understand what you are saying. And very valid point. I again don’t find her condescending but I guess it’s because I don’t really listen with that sort of investment...if that makes sense? On the surface I find her greatly entertaining, love the interviews and it’s a nice drive to work. I guess when I feel like there’s something I don’t like about a host I just stop listening.
I slso don’t find her uneducated about politics, but I don’t think it’s her strength. It’s the same way I have activist friends. They are strongly swayed towards their own agenda because of what it means to them. They are knowledgeable about alternative sides of the picture but they talk about the side they believe in. Michelle is talking about what she’s passionate about. She has the platform to do so. There are other hosts that do the same thing in different areas. I do t think they are uneducated, they just pull from different sides and have different biases.
I have no idea if I’m making any sense. She does get political, because it really means a lot to her, but she’s not running a political talk show and I truly don’t think she knows nothing about what she’s talking about. I don’t know if any of you guys follow TheBabyGuy. He’s a baby product expert and he does the same thing and I think gets very similar feedback that you guys are giving. But again, that’s not why I follow him so it doesn’t bother me in the least.

I generally enjoy her show and will keep listening, she’s just been a little harpy with the politics lately and I find it grating first thing in the morning. If I want to listen to politics, there are plenty of places I can go for that.
Also, has anyone noticed that just like Taylor would so often say to guests “can we be best friends?!”, Michelle does the same thing except “you should run for office!” 😂

I'm still a little iffy on Michelle Collins but it drove me nuts when that woman called into Taylor recently and said Michelle was trying to be her!!😂😂😂🤣🤣
Ummm... Michelle did an after show long before Taylor thought of it.
Offline
I am obsessed with MC's show. No one makes me laugh the way she does. To say that she is in any way trying to be Taylor is completely laughable. She's had a rich career before getting her show on Sirius. She was on The View for god's sake.

I love her (obviously since I started this thread and comment on it all the time 😂), but if anything I feel like Michelle is what Taylor could’ve been if she put forth any effort. She also legitimately hangs out with famous people and they respect her. It’s everything TS wants out of life.

They wish...Taylor has had every opportunity to be half of what MC is (look at all of the contacts she has and the opportunities she’s skipped over the years and subsequently bragged about on the radio!) but instead, she’s chosen the life of drinking, napping, SIL bashing and whining about wishing she had what others have as her path. I’ll give her props for working hard right now on the 2 podcasts, Getting Younger and Equality Bites (randomly) but for someone in the business for over 10 years, she could have been a lot further down the road. That statement is laughable....

I was wondering the same thing ? Where is Tim ?

I thought I remember Michelle saying that he would be back. Maybe he's just taken some holidays. Sierra, Megan and Michelle all took holidays this summer. I really like Molly, and if she's replacing Megan, I couldn't be more thrilled. But of course, I miss Teem. He's the best!

I'm hoping you all are listening to the Michelle Collins show. If anyone is looking for a good laugh... Michelle's show from last week with Jerry O'Connell- start to finish it was so funny!
Highlight: 10 minutes into the beginning of the show she tells a story about her recent drybar experience: "do you suck a lot of dicks, bitch?" Lmaooooo
And her Liam Neison and rHOD Leeann impressions. Listened to this episode twice.
I don't miss Taylor. At all.

Maybe I'll give Michelle another try. She really is funny, I just wish she'd tone down her sanctimonious-ness, it gets tiresome.

That is a great word, Durst. I couldn't quite put my finger on why I couldn't listen to her... she is on a high horse. I might give another try...

I love Michelle Collins, even her sanctimonious tendencies. She's so funny, neurotic and passionate.
Offline
I’ve said it before but I kind of like the sanctimoniousness. She’s passionate about things and even if I don’t agree with that passsion, I appreciate that she has a backbone. That’s how I feel about Jenny McCarthy too. Besides when I occasionally pop on here, I no longer give Taylor a second thought. These other shows fill the void. I could still do without Dr. Laura though.

Yay!! Michelle is getting an extra hour. 7-10 starting next week! That's what happens when your show is actually good

Today I almost peed my pants listening. I don’t know the people she had on but they were hilarious.

It was Ben and Ronnie from The Watch What Crappens podcast. They are hilarious and I love Michelle's dynamic with them.

Is there a board for Michelle? I would love to talk about her show!!

Me too! I don’t listen daily but most days I catch at least a little of her show.

Emma was in with Matteo this morning. They are so fun to listen to especially with Michelle. And tomorrow Stassi is on 😱

Wow!!!
Funny a few weeks ago Taylor said how much she likes Michelle. Months ago she was being super shady though and saying stuff along the lines of her not being worth much because she would work for the peanuts Sirius pays.
Offline
Sounds like sour grapes, but most times when Michelle's name has come up Taylor has said she likes her and has no animosity towards her. MC is on a whole other level anyway.
Offline
MC is such a professional-she just plugged Taylor's show.
