What an actual disaster. I think she also casually mentioned going to work with the flu and staying in your cube or something. Apparently  she missed the day in nursing school where they talk about how the flu is a deadly epidemic.

I can be sick and stay in my office, at some point I'll have to use the bathroom though, and probably the kitchen. People need to just stay home & get better!!!!

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Yesterday Dr. Wider mentioned Plan B and other birth control pills possibly not being effective on women over 175 lbs.  Taylor said she used take Plan B all the time when she was married... But that she would have her parents take her to CVS when she was back in MA.  She's said this a few times over the years and I'm always soooo confused.  Don't they have CVS, or other Plan B retailers, in NYC??? Why on earth did she need her parents to take her for Plan B.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

She tried to do it so that Brett wouldn't know(not that she couldn't have hid it from him, but I think that's why.)
Plus she has a weird co dependent relationships with her parents.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

You're probably right...  I could understand if it was prescription and she had her dad write an rx (although how very unethical), but it's so easy to buy.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

IF YOU HAVE A PRESCRIPTION SOME INSURANCES WILL PAY FOR PLAN B (MINE WILL)

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Also, and I don’t remember the name right now but could probably find it if someone wants the info- I tried to get Plan B or something like it a couple years ago. My dr prescribed it no problem, but I literally couldn’t find a pharmacy that had it. I called EVERYWHERE. I ended up finding this website that’s some non-profit women’s organization that will overnight it to you via fedex all for only $5. I felt like a weirdo as a grown ass woman with insurance getting it from some place set up for like, teens or whatever, but I didn’t know what else to do. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Damn, Durst!  I only bought it once, and thankfully found it right away.  It's good organizations like that exist since there's such a small window for it to be effective!

I almost responded to that. He has earned his time off. If they want to make comparisons, let’s talk about time for show prep. How many times has someone he’s interviewing said “how did you know that?!?” It’s beca he does research beyond reading the first theee articles that come up on a google search.

Yes you can def get a false negative on a flu screening, accuracy is dependent on getting a good swab and could also depend on where you are in the course of the illness. She should’ve made an appt with her actual doctor since she was obviously unhappy with the treatment she received at urgent care, especially if she was still feeling that bad (and definitely if she was actually incontinent with her bladder and bowels 🤮). You’d never guess she was surrounded by families full of doctors, how are none of these people telling her to go to her PCP???

Due to the self proclaimed small mouth size, perhaps they could not get the swab in there.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Hah! Brilliant as usual. But I have questions.

Is the bottle a day she drinks a magnum?

Why is she still on COBRA?! New York allows you to stay on up to 36 months... but I have to imagine she would get it cheaper through the marketplace. The price is based on your income, so it would still be expensive (when I looked for myself a couple of years ago it was in the $350 neighborhood), but I have to imagine it would be cheaper than $800. That's just bananas.

Also fun fact per my HR department (in FL - not sure if its different in other states). I quit my job and was taking a month off just for funzies before I started the next one, and the next job had a 30 day waiting period before you could get on their benefits. COBRA was stupid expensive and I wasn't wild about my options with the marketplace. HR told me that as long as I elected COBRA within the eligibility period, it was retroactively effective. So lets say I quit my job on 12/31 and the election period ends 2/28. I make no election, and get in a car accident 2/10. As long as I make the election by 2/28, my bills from the accident will be covered. Just a tip in case you need to float for a short time.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

She really needs some therapy to help her get rid of the baggage she has over Brett.  It’s not normal to talk about him as much as she does.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Given that she must make more than $40k a year, she would not be eligible for any assistance with her premiums. For a decent plan in NYC, she would be paying similar or more than COBRA. The marketplace is great for low income but outside of that, it can get ridiculously expensive.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

If we are to believe her when she says she’s making more than she did at Sirius, she def wouldn’t be eligible for subsidies, but she could still find a decent plan for less than she’s paying for COBRA. NY has their own marketplace and a quick google search shows her premiums for a silver plan with her demographic in her zip code would average $585/mo. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m honestly shocked she even pays for insurance at all since she rarely goes to the doctor

I work for a large insurance company in NY that does enrollment for the Marketplace- I trained the enrollers for most of the state within my company. A Silver plan comes with a $3k deductible and $6k max out of pocket. That $585 might be for a company without a large network of docs... and as you know, she can only go to certain docs in rich neighborhoods. Her COBRA plan is through Blue Cross meaning she has access to the largest network for a decent price...
