I regret my post. I feel like we're not allowed to criticize M for fear of appearing racist, and that is ridiculous.
I’m glad you posted it! It was on point, M’s story was gross. Anyway the whole point of that group is having the ability to post freely without fear of getting booted. And it worked itself out in the end, she left willingly. I call that a win-win.Thanks girl. I'm just not a confrontational person, and I feel like I started a bit of a shit storm, so I was feeling bethos.
But the majority agreed with me, so clearly I wasn't alone.
I agreed with the intent of the post. I can't follow exactly where the thread went off the rails, but the "lecture" and venmo talk seemed unprovoked. I get equally (actually more) annoyed with Taylor's continued stories of her privilege, but mostly because I have listened for years and she talks out of both sides of her mouth. MacKenzie is an entertaining story teller, and I will keep listening to her in the hope that this story was a one-off.

I listened to the most recent MacKenzie episode as background so I feel like I really missed something... what was the story?
On a side note, I am still a little on the fence about her. I do think that Taylor needs diverse voices but am not sure if I am fully on board.

I missed all of this in real time, but just went and found it. HOLY SHIT. I am blown away. Can't even comprehend the logic with the comments. In what world is it ok to start a rumor that could literally ruin someone's life? Then laugh and brag about it? I have a couple scenarios in my head that would be just as bad if roles were reversed, but I'll keep those to myself.
I do not listen to M, I do not find her enlightening, engaging, or interesting. This is not a race issue, it is just a personality issue. (I could list the white co-hosts I also don't waste my time on....) With a full time job, two little children and a husband that travels often, my time is valuable and I would rather spend it listing to something that educates and interests me, or at least makes me giggle.
I appreciate your post @lydia. That is what a fan forum is for, even though it was very frustrating to read through the comments.

Thanks On Point. I couldn't believe that anyone could rationalize that that kind of behaviour was in any way acceptable. And then to insinuate that I was critical of her because of her race. Offensive and ridiculous. And to be told that maybe I need to examine why I felt uncomfortable with her? I'm sorry, I don't find her enlightening or aspirational either. All I hear is constant bragging and putting other people down. I agree, it's a personality issue for me. I also have issues with other co hosts, and I've voiced those as well. Does someone get a pass just because they're a different race? That's not progress.

I’m liking the cohosts less and less. Last week I listened to maybe 50% of the episodes. It’s interesting that Taylor claims she reached out to so many Black and brown people to cohost with her, and once she got MacKenzie, she stopped trying. I cannot speak on behalf on Black or Brown people, but if I listened to Taylor’s show and the amount of privilege she constantly talks about, I might not want to associate with TTSS at all.

Some of you are a bunch of hypocrites. You have let listeners like CCC, “Mary Case”, and quite a few others get by with subtle and not-so subtle racist posts and comments for months and say NOTHING.... but you have an issue with AC and her posts discussing race, racism, and other systemic issues because she either:
1) You think voting for Obama = “doing the work“ since before May so you don’t need a Black woman telling you anything.
2) She makes you uncomfortable with your own subconscious racism.
That post criticizing M was ridiculous. OP brought up the story M told and somehow instead of people discussing that topic the entire post devolved into how much people hate that she brags about her bougie life. These are the same people who have no issues when white cohosts do it. HB is around the same age as M and I have yet to see any of you go in on her and her boasting and inflated ego to the degree you did M.
For some of you it might be a personality thing. For others I think you have a problem with a Black woman being unapologetic about having a privileged upbringing while also discussing issues POC especially Black people experience regardless of class or social standing.
The same ones complaining about M loved hearing JB. Is it because he fit certain stereotypes so he was easier to digest on the air?

There’s a lot to unpack in this post so I’m going to address my perspective of how I felt about the whole thing. (Obviously I can’t address anyone else’s!)
1. I honestly didn’t think much of the story M told until the post was made. But upon reflection, it really was kind of messed up that she did it. I didn’t comment on that part of the post, but I do agree that I don’t think it’s ok to make that kind of stuff up.
2. I typically like her hour of the weeks, and feel like she has brought a breath of fresh air to the co-host group. But Friday was a little much. It was not about her bougie life really...(I equate that to when people talk about their Chanel bags and dropping $2K on tickets to see Hamilton because they didn’t plan ahead for a birthday, etc). It was when she felt the need to go on and on about Aunt Hillary and Uncle Bill, and Uncle Bill and her dad flying in Air Force One to get BBQ using our tax dollars. When there are people who are out of jobs right now or struggling to pay bills, it would be good to read the room. And believe me, it’s not just M. Taylor needs to do it daily and I do NOT give her a pass either. This is not about M being black- it was about Friday’s show specifically being over the top in some aspects.
3. I will say you are wrong about people not having an issue when white co-hosts brag about their bougie life... how many times have their been long comment sections about LC? She even has a segment now because of how much she is name-dropping about her life and who she knows (while simultaneously begging people to love her). Taylor is ripped apart all of the time because she won’t shut up about her former/current life (I will not not be rich!) even while she’s talking out of the other side of her mouth about how she’s living paycheck to paycheck (right Jackie).
4. I do agree with the person who said that Taylor found her one BIPOC co-host and stopped looking. But did that really surprise anyone? I certainly didn’t me.
5. As far as AC goes, I really really like her and I am sad about that whole thing. I have enjoyed all of the articles/online information she has posted in the groups; the questions she has answered; and the thoughts she has shared. I’m not sure how that got so sideways so fast, but I’m really bummed that she quit the one group, although I understand why.
6. I don’t know if I know who Mary Case is but CCC is just plain cray cray. We’ve all seen her go from ranting to angry at someone to perfectly lovely to asking for advice for her son and back again.
Anyway, for what it’s worth (probably nothing) these are my random thoughts. Oh, and I didn’t love JB. I wanted him to blow his nose...it was all a sensory thing for me! I didn’t understand to fandom but I have a FF button on my phone so I didn’t have to listen. Just like I’m not doing most of the week these days...

Absolutely not. AC had worn out her welcome with me because she attacks on everything. The second someone says something she doesn’t like she blocks them. She takes screenshots that make her look like the victim, yet look up the actual post and you’ll see there’s more to it. She doesn’t make me uncomfortable she makes me aggravated with her total lack of being able to have a 2-way conversation.
Mackenzie. Unapologetic privilege upbringing? That’s cute, no that wasn’t the post. People are upset about her unapologetic slander against another human. Whatever the circumstance, she knowingly started false rumors.
Please noticed my entire reply had nothing to do with race so please, I understand that’s the typical “go to easy argument” but it’s simply not applicable.

Furthermore I really don’t care for DC, Liz, HB, and honestly, I haven’t listen to Sean since he told a listener she didn’t have the right to be upset with the possibility of losing her livelihood in riots and in fact referred to her as privileged. As he was sitting nice and safe in his NYC apartment working from home and ordering instacart. So yeah, I’m pretty critical of all the host.

LOL!!!!! You’re such a clown. Sean didn’t say anything like that. listeners posted screenshots of his exact response. That listener had literally nothing to be worried about because she was in Sonoma. She posted so she could get CCC level pity and was fear mongering about an unlikely event happening.

Who cares if she blocks someone? Did you get blocked and now you’re hurt?
M shared a single story. Some of the other listeners said she likely had other experiences with this person that led her to believe he was.
Congrats on not mentioning race I guess? The fact that you need to point it out and also loathe two prominent Black women in the TS-sphere makes it hard to support your claim tho.

1) A lot of us were fine AC, however after awhile she came looking to pick a fight on every post, that’s why people turned on her. Maybe she should do the same self-reflection that she suggested everyone else do.
2) No one here has given CCC a pass, she’s a lunatic and we’ve told her so both on here and on FB. No clue who Mary Case is so I can’t comment on that.
3) You’ve been around here for years, you know that literally ALL OF US have massive issues with Taylor’s bragging and privilege. To say there’s any shortage of posts complaining about that (regarding TS, HB, LC, the list goes on..) on here or on FB is complete and utter nonsense.

Just curious, like what? I know people stan him so hard, but I get annoyed with his smugness and mansplaining. It's very condescending.

Me too. I don't even listen to him anymore. I could never find a word for him, because I don't think he's an asshole per se, but smug is perfect.

OMG you nailed it with “ mansplaining “ he just likes to hear himself talk!

Not gonna lie, happy McKenzie is gone. Her humble bragging about her family was to much.

I'm also happy at the prospect of having someone else take her place. I know a lot of people love her. She should really start her own podcast because she really doesn't know how to be a co-host. She just took over the show, and Taylor barely spoke. I just wasn't a fan of the stories, the silly voices, the bragging, and the tv and movie references for every single talking point.

I’m also glad she is back. I like hearing about her kids and I love when she talks about fashion and beauty products.

Ok who are the two girls who got together when they were working for Madonna? That was a pretty good story from Liz.

I actually listened to a few MacKenzie hours recently and noticed that she and Taylor are quite similar in telling long stories about themselves. It’s super annoying to listen to them together.
