Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I know! I am so sick of hearing about the Pope. Who cares!

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Taylor talks on and on lately about gay marriage. Too much? Bringing it up again in regards to the Pope and the rainbows and she knows deep down he supports gay marriage. What?? She is so fixated on this. Is it me or does she talk about being gay, Ruby Rose, etc... way more than she used to. I could care less what her sexual orientation is, but she does seem to protest too much lately. That along with hating sex, hating penis, she considers herself asexual, and her best friend is a lesbian. Again, don't care just an observation.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

The first hour of today's show was a prime example of 45 minutes of content that contained absolutely no new thoughts after 10. The other 35 minutes - repeat, repeat, repeat. Strident, strident, strident.

I would rather listen to Taylor and Kenny talk about their days/evenings than talk about a "hot topic" - that's when Taylor is at her worst. She goes on and on and gets so charged up over nothing and just repeats herself like crazy. And nothing gets said! It's amazing!

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

So often these days I think to myself "can we be done with this topic now?" I start to get really bored if they go on for more than 10 minutes about any one thing. And lately, they are the same topics they just talked about the day before!

I had the same thought this morning. She seems SO set on it and it struck me as odd that someone that wasn't having those types of feelings herself would be so passionate about it. Her being with a woman was brought up on Sam's show one time she was on and she was coy about it and basically alluded to the fact that she was leaving all options open and didn't know what the future held for her.

I think this might have more to do with having a new gay friend. Stuff is coming up that either she hasn't really thought of before, or cared enough to discuss. I think that it now involves someone close to her, she's more invested in the topic.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Did you catch the last 10 minutes of the show today where Taylor really gave Kenny credit for being the feminist voice on the show even before she was? It was pretty awesome. I like this whole evolution of Taylor thing even if it is rocky at times.

She even said that she realizes she has been judgemental about things in the past and that she is learning now. It's good to look at life and realize where you were wrong and admit it.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Haha, i posted a topic about enough with the Pope talk. I wish I'd read these newer messages on this thread! I am so sick of it. I understand the Pope was in the US last week and it's a hot topic of sorts, but she talked about him too much even before this past week/couple of weeks.

This has probably been said to death, but the show needs more structure or something. I used to love the show when it was just Tay and Kenny talking back and forth about issues. Now i wish they would bring back more segments or something. Almost hitched bitch, don't do it gal, etc. Might inspire some new topics. Anything! I have been hitting the fast forward button on my OnDemand a lot lately.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Well it's tough to fill that time everyday when you're supposed to be a light show and not get into news (legit news), politics and religion etc.  They used to take this time and fill it with Tay telling a personal story and elaborating and discussing, whether it was a no b didn't or some travel fiasco. Now she doesn't want to talk about personal stuff, Kenny never did so it leaves a hole.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

^ I agree with this a ton. I think she's struggling because she's been so raked over the coals lately that she won't go back to talking about personal stuff. And you're right that this is supposed to be a light show. They aren't really supposed to be doing heavier topics. Not to say that the repetitiveness isn't getting old. It is. But I think she got a lot of shit for not doing current hot topics. Now she is, the Matt Damon comments, the Pope comments as he was leaving. All this was current news this morning. But it's still not what people want. I think the show is in a can't win situation with a lot of people right now. It'll take time I think to get their rhythm back. And I think Kenny needs to be back in studio for that to happen.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but why can't they come up with new segments, or maybe it's time to bring in a third person if the two of them don't want to share their personal lives anymore. It seemed like when Steph was there the show had structure and moved along. Do other shows plan before hand topics to discuss or do they all just get in front of the mic and wing it? I think because she has nothing planned she just keeps discussing the same subjects and repeating the same stories. She said she used to just show up and be on auto pilot, well what is she doing different now?

Agreed! I know she doesn't want to talk about herself, but take calls and discuss someone else's wedding for Almost Hitched Bitch. I fowarded through most of the second hour on the pope today and also skipped Lena's interview b/c she was talking about masterbation yet again.

I agree, take more calls. And don't interrupt the callers when they are talking!!

That's what I mean about getting their rhythm back I think. It seems like they kind of just chalked the summer up to a transition period. So much was going on that they just needed to get by. I think (or maybe I hope) they're in the tail end of that and they'll start to ramp things up for the end of the year/beginning of next with some fresh stuff once Kenny is back regularly. I also get the feeling she doesn't want a third voice on air. Especially a female that she would view as competition. I think that's why we don't hear Katie despite her being there for awhile now. I always liked the dynamic when Victiria was there. The friction made things interesting. But who knows they could keep mailing it in, too.

I'm not at that point in the show, but that is annoying that he didn't show AGAIN! If he does not want to have a "segment", that is the way Taylor made it sound it would be, he should just say that. Instead of being unprofessional and just not showing up. What is this the 3rd time?

She said something to that effect. "I can't beelieve we made him this segment and he doesn't show"

She needs to not have him on.....or prerecord his segment.

Good idea. And I love him too. But that's not good to stand up a live show that has been advertising you coming on. And last time he was on WU, he talked about how he felt obsolete to the younger generation at fashion week. I would think one way to fix that would be to have a segment on a younger person's show. This is painfully familiar to what we were saying about Tay over the summer.😒

Today they talked about which is worse - throwing soda on someone or pointing a fake gun at someone - for the entire first hour. I was so bored.
