Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Taylor has her good moments and being a 10 year listener, I'm in my semi annoyed taylor phase. But I don't really like kenny either. He's basically there to act bathos, tell some weird bathos sex story of his, agree with taylor, and make a funny comment once in a while. Everytime he talks, it's like he's not confident in what he's saying. He stumbles and talks like a little kid when he is trying to make a point. I'd prefer if Katie talks from now on. I do feel bad for him though, it's been 10 years and he's STILL a sidekick for taylor and doesn't have his name on the show????? Wtf. Either fight for your name to be top billing or leave the damn show. He's just still there to promote his own stuff. Sorry I'm snarky today.

I think his name should be in the title as well. I have been to his stand up show and he was so nice and genuine. He hung out with everyone and had a beer. Yes I keep coming back because I do like the contemporary topics but I don't think I will every be a Taylor fan.

I think I may need to be done. First hour this morning drove me insane!

I feel like Kenny has not been himself for a while. His heart doesn't seem to be in the show and even has seemed very serious a lot of the times.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

After today's talk about suicide, I think Zach's ex girlfriend's dad is the person who she was talking about passing last year. That also better explains the memorial she went to at the lake house instead of going to her friends shower.

Interesting theory, and it makes since. Except she did go to the shower and missed the lake house.

Ah, you're totally right! I forgot she just talked about wanting to do something else instead. What's worse - going and talking about how you wish you didn't have to on air or not going at all? Awkward.
I don't want to post the obit here in case that's too private, but her dad took his life four days before Christmas last year. How incredibly sad.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Loved Dr. Wider with Kenny today!  Did anyone else catch some of Kenny's comments? When talking about Dr. wider being Kenny and Kenny being Taylor, he said something like to becTaylor he would have to freak out and judge. He then commented about how she fights with everyone. Later in the show he remarked about talking so much today and that he usually doesn't get to talk more than a couple comments here and there. I think Kenny is a bit (or more than a bit) fed up with Taylor and that may be coming across in his performance on the show lately.

OMG. how incredibly sad.  I wouldn't post the link either, let's try and keep it light here.
It just shows that sometimes our judgments are too harsh because we really don't know everything that is going on.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I LOVED Kenny and Dr. Wider today too. Kenny said something like, "I love getting to talk about real stuff with you" and I couldn't agree more. Kenny is so insightful and is always always always over talked by Taylor. He and Dr. Wider have such great chemistry and actually stop to let one another finish their thoughts. I thought to myself this morning that having a show of two funny people, one a doctor and one a hypochondriac makes for a pretty awesome premise.

Yeah, I heard all of that.  It has to be hard for him.  He's done radio a long time, and he's probably used to people being prepared, not talking over each other or chewing into the mic, etc.  I'd be fed up.

I was wondering! I didn't catch the guys name, he was great though!

He was 1,000 times better than Bonnie!  Didn't mention the Kardashians once!  Ha!

Just catching up on Tuesday's show... I had to laugh during this segment when they were talking about Raven-Symone and T says: "they keep having these TV shows with women who are not highly educated and they speak on all these social issues...." HMMM....says the pot to the kettle?!?!? And then she shit all over Kelly Osborne again! Meanwhile, Taylor couldn't put 2 coherent and factually accurate thoughts together if she tried. My mind continues to be blown on the daily...

Add me to the Dr. Wider love fest! She's so good on air and I'd listen to any show she's on.

I was thinking the exact same thing! How similar the two situations...and I'll add in:
1. LOVE Wider and Kenny...Love, love love. They are hilarious together! You could tell T was worried about them being together without her before she left when she kept saying 'Don't be too good' and 'don't have too much fun' on Wed.

2. I thought Joey (the 'not Bonnie Fuller guy) was fabulous too! I'm not sure what his last name is cause Taylor did her butcher job and called him something else each time she said it!

:-))))

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I'm really liking Kenny & Katie togeather!!!! I've only listened to the second hour so far, but I like that they both had opinions and sound like they know what they're talking about. It could use a little more pep, someone like Leah or Sean (I've always thought those two should have a show togeather!) would make a great third.

I don't know where else to post this, so sticking it here. Someone posted it on the FB page, I had always assumed by the stories Taylor was so involved. Shes sort of just standing there swaying though. Its just clip though, I guess it probably went on way longer.

Also (I swear I'm done after this, I have to do some work!) their FB is blowing up today over the pizza talk. I haven't seen that kind of response in forever. I think it says a lot about the hosts, much more engaging.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I enjoyed the part of todays show that I heard on the way to work.  Katie is interesting - really preparing herself for her career.  It was nice not to have to listed to nonsense.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I like Katie-she seems smart and interesting, but I'm disappointed that she doesn't put more effort into the fb page. Steph used to post about everything that was being discussed on air. I think that accounts for why the fb page generates so little discussion these days.

That reminds me about a month or so ago another show read an email that was sent from the higher-ups to every show on Sirius saying that they are going to be judged more on Facebook interactions with listeners. I specifically remember thinking about how the WU fb page was going to have to stop becoming such a ghost town, but it looks like nothing changed. Not all shows rely on the producer to solely run social media either, so they can't totally blame katie.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Well, as the producer, she should at least be delegating those duties-perhaps the intern could be responsible for that. But I do think the producer is supposed to manage what goes on behind the scenes.

DSF always has so much interaction, questions about guests are almost always answered. WUWT, all the answers seem to come from other listeners.

Taylor would probably do really well with an hour open question segment or something like that. People ask her lots on FB & IG, she never answers though.
