Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I get what you are saying MissJenn. That's why I choose not to really say much sometimes. I think this forum is needed since the Facebook page is terrible and doesn't really cultivate good conversation, but I wanted a place to talk about the show. Maybe expand on topics more. Keep the conversation going. Much like Covino and Rich's forum does. Users there don't always agree with them and often point out when they're being ridiculous or call them on their bullshit. But there's a lot of great conversation, too.  This forum however just ended up just being a big hate fest. The only topics that ever see activity anymore are the ones with all the negativity about what she's saying or doing. Someone here once said that Taylor just couldn't win with her right now so maybe she needed a break. I really respected that. Taylor is who she is. She isn't going to change for a SMALL handful of faceless nameless fans. There's a difference between venting and disagreeing and straight out hate. And some people here cross the line. I've seen many posts where people nit pick at every little thing and there comes a point you have to realize it's your issue and maybe Taylor's not for you.  I've gone through periods of not listening and needing a break myself, because it was my issue and I came back when I was over it. I don't expect that she would conform to how I think she should be/act.  Sure Taylor judges and shit talks. It doesn't make it right and it doesn't give anyone a pass to act the same way or you're no different. The point of this forum should be to bring fans together. Not to constantly shit on Taylor, her family and friends, and tell her how to live and do her job.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Totally agree ChickenFacenook. Bottom line for me is that I continue to find Taylor entertaining after many years of listening. I'm not looking for a role model-I'm just looking for a few laughs, and an escape from my own reality for a bit.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Whether or not she is extreme for the show or just an extreme person, it would be boring to listen to if she wasn't. That's what makes her entertaining!

i've posted similarly before and do agree tay cant win. i listen also because her entertaining. and the girl's def got the gift of gab.  she has been dabbling more into current affairs and that has been a plus for the show, at least for me. as individuals, we are all flawed in some way. we get to hear and witness tay's flaws because of the industry in which she works.  i am just glad the people in my own personal circles don't itemize them on blog sites like this one. i'll still say, i couldn't do what she does.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I don't understand why people think it's not right to bash someone on a fan forum . If you feel unhappy with the performance of whatever or whoever  you are a fan of you certainly should be allowed to voice your displeasure with every little thing. If all you want is rainbows and roses you should follow their Facebook page or whatever social media that  they control and edit not somewhere the fans have free expression.

If you follow a sports team or a TV shows fan page you would see how critical and hateful fans can be even after winning the Super Bowl or an Emmy for best whatever. Wake Up is in no way as popular as those things or even other radio shows as can be seen by the number of followers on FB or the number or comments on that sad blog of TS. In fact there are 50 times more comments left here than that blog
.
So just be happy that a lot of people can leave a comment pro or con and accept that it's a good thing that so many people care

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I do think people are free to express their criticisms of the show, but some of the fodder in this forum are just personal attack- on Taylor's looks for example. I fail to see how that is any way constructive or well intended. Sometimes it's just petty and mean.

Mean Maybe.
You should read what Jets fans say about their QB and his family, wife, kids and future generations. T gets off lightly.

Why don't we try to be better than that?

In other news, is anyone else not getting audio in the Twitter feed of today's show?

Yep, just silence. I also tried to listen halfway through the show on the app this morning. But when I restarted the show, it just jumped right into a discussion with Wider. I figured it was a rerun and stopped listening.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I'm a little confused about why we all can't just say whatever we want - good or bad. I don't think any of us are trolls out to get Taylor. From what I can tell, we have all been dedicated listeners at some point and have invested something of ourselves in the show. Many of us cycle between loving her and being annoyed with her. And I think that's okay.

I saw Kenny's show in Montreal last night and he told us today would be a rerun.

None of the occasional posts here begging people to be polite and mannered in our discussion of the show have any influence on what I post. If I feel like making an observation, I make it. If you don't like it, don't read it. It kills me that people think they're going shame others into behaving in a way THEY think is appropriate.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

listing to Thursday show.  That Pnina Tornai interview was interesting.  It seems so weird that she was so religious, but her dresses are so sexy? I can't imagine wearing most of her dresses in Church ceremonies.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I was actually impressed with the replay today. They dug a little deeper into the archives, which was a refreshing change. Remember "Brains over body"? I thought that was a really great segment.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I think everyone does say what they want. There are a few shamers that think everything on here has to be sunshine and roses, but I don't think most people listen to that. I like hearing both sides as I myself flip flop between good and bad things with Taylor.

and that is wrong as well.  being a psychologist, i'm a little biased toward the power of positivity. so i guess the take away here is 1) yes, we are all free to post whatever we please and 2) neither side is going to convert or convert the other side.  just sayin'

I saw that too. So very sad, but at the same time, if the article Taylor read is true, so very irresponsible.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Can anyone remember if last Friday's show (11/13) was a replay? The one available on the XM app, On Demand, is a "best of" but I thought they were live that day. I'm behind and now I'm getting confused.

I think that's the day they did the bagel fat kid Friday? I didn't listen to the show, but saw the pics and thought those are weird little bagels!

I'm having the same issue. I didn't say anything because I thought I was the only one confused. LOL
