Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Today's show just felt weird, like a big advertisement. It was so boring and I dont get why they did it.

Yes it makes me wonder if this was one of Katie's bright ideas. I did like some of the tips I guess. I would much rather have heard about all the details of BOTH of their holiday celebrations.

The show just seems so forced a lot lately. It used to come so natural.

Yes!  I thought the same thing.  It seemed like an advertisement - so weird.  We all know what cyber Monday is.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Friday's "show" was even worse. It also bothers me that they tried so hard to act like it was live, when they know we're not stupid. I don't even car that it's recorded, it's the lying that annoys me.

Me as well!! She kept harping on today being so much better the Black Friday because you online shop. All the in store deals are all online for Black Friday and have been for years.

i agree.  call me scrooge but i don't get that excited about parting with my hard-earned money

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I liked that the Streckers are going low-key for Christmas this year to Turks & Caicos 😥 Man.. she was all over the place today!  I felt like she was shitting on people who need to get deals on Black Friday to stretch their budget while simultaneously telling us ad nauseum how this is the first year of her life she's ever had to worry about money. Then how she's awesome at finding bargains. Girl please, have you ever used a coupon in your life?

Also, with all her online shopping talk, she didn't once mention a cash-back app. She's not even qualified to be talking about this subject if she doesn't use Ebates or something...it's stupid to not get free money!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

I have a feeling this was a Katie thing. Also, Katie has that Stefanie Ziev thing going on with her voice. Something about the way she says her "s"s drives me crazy.

EBates is legit and if you go extreme with it, it can pay off big-time. My sister in law uses ebates and other shopping pay back sites to get free travel. For the past three years, she's been able to take dozens of basically free vacations with her family of four, including a month each summer in Hawaii. It's kinda like the digital/Internet equivalent of extreme couponing. I don't get it though. Seems like a lot of work coordinating sales, websites, codes, etc.

I too would have much preferred to hear stories about their respective Thanksgivings. I find the promotion of blatant consumerism kind of gross(not to mention boring).

I've noticed it too. I think she's bright and enjoyed her with Kenny. But her voice/inflection isn't my jam. I don't think she and Taylor have anything in common other than the patriots.... Which Taylor totally would sh'crap all over if they weren't doing well.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I only listened to the first 45 mins of the show yesterday so might have missed this, but to those asking... Ebates, it's the best! I got $100 back last year from holiday shopping alone. Basically you go to their website, click a link to where ever you are shopping and then it sets up cash back. You get paid through PayPal quarterly.

How they make money is Ebates gets a referral fee % and they split it with the consumer (you know how Taylor gets money when you buy things from some links in her blogs? Ebates does the same thing but splits that money with the consumer). However, throughout the year they will give the consumer a greater chunk. I just got 10% back at Macy's, but I've seen #s as high as 20%.

To make it easier on myself, I installed the toolbar, which basically puts a little button that flashes on my browser if a site uses Ebates. I just have to press that button and it refreshes the page and gives me the referral $.

I'm basically an infomercial for Ebates. I work in digital marketing (not for Ebates or anything close) so I'm pretty versed in the space. I did my research and feel very comfortable with how it works. Of course you should do what you're comfortable with, but it's definitely not a scam

Shamless plug, if you do want to join Ebates and don't know anyone else who does it...they have an awesome referral program (refer 1 person get $5, refer 2 get $50, refer 3 people, get $100. Holler!) and I'd love to PM you my link (sorry, you can't blame a girl for trying!)

Thank you for the info!! I do a lot of my shopping at a Clearance Dillard's store. They have great deals! Like GB dresses for $11!! As well as Swimsuit for $4 a piece.  And it's all Dillards brands.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

So all the Taylor lovers will jump all over me for this one... but...

WHY did Taylor talk about sales at Barneys and Bergdorf when the whole segment is about women who can't afford a decent outfit for job interviews? They're talking about how a shoe donation could change a woman and her family's life, and here she complains about how she wishes she was a size 6 for the sales. Ugh. It was only for a second, bust seemed like bad taste. Taylor, you don't always HAVE to talk about yourself.

Which also brings me to yesterday's interview where she talked about pooping in the hallway and the Cyber Monday guy just sat there in silence.

She's so bad at interviews.

Having T talk about charity and volunteering is a recipe for disaster.  Everything she said about volunteering for Dress for Success was total BS and will never happen.

If you go on demand, it's one of my last guests I believe.

They were talking about Cyber Monday shopping during your work day and whether or not it was frowned upon. During the segment, they were talking about employers using CM shopping to boost morale... and then Taylor said something about pissed off employees taking poops on the hallway or bathroom floor... and he literally did not say a word. Did not laugh at all.

Yeah, it wasn't a big deal, and I'm definitely being nit picky, but I just think she is so odd during interviews sometimes. She often brings up that no one will make Howard Stern type money in that office again and she acts salty about that, but, girl, there's no comparison to how prepared he is during his interviews to her interview style.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

In Taylor's pooping on the floor defense that guy was a dud, I don't think he's laughed in 30 years.  He was so boring.  I'm not sure who decided to have him on, but it was dumb. basically all of yesterday's show was dumb.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Along the same lines.... I found it obnoxious on yesterday's show when Taylor kept saying that in her old life she was such a GENEROUS gift giver, but now she isn't because she's on a budget.  Seems like it was pretty easy to be generous when it was B's money.  A little tougher when it's your own.  I just felt like "generous" was not the right word there.  And, yeah- she's not cut out for volunteering.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Hearing Taylor make excuses for this idiot woman who got arrested for animal cruelty makes me want to fly to NYC and duct tape HER fucking mouth shut. The Starbucks cup controversy was much ado about nothing; being fired up that someone duct taped an animal's mouth closed is NOT the internet getting butthurt, it's a fucking crime, and you are disgusting for trying to justify it.

I'm having trouble remembering a time where I was as disappointed in Tay as I am right now, listening to the volunteering conversation. I'm glad at the end she said she is now moved to volunteer, but I have no confidence that she will follow through. Prove me wrong, girl! Please!

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Anyone else get a bit of guilty pleasure with Taylor's interview today with the hot British guy? Her attempts at flirting and going sexual in topic, as she usually does, totally didn't work on him. And I shouldn't have enjoyed her uncomfortableness with that as much as I did.
