How much does full service apartment moving cost

I am planning to relocate to a new apartment next month but my work schedule is completely crazy right now. I work long hours at the office and simply do not have the time or energy to pack boxes or disassemble my furniture. I am strongly considering hiring a full-service moving company to handle the entire job from start to finish. However, I have no idea what a realistic budget for this kind of premium service looks like. How much does full service apartment moving cost on average these days? Do companies usually charge extra for things like wardrobe boxes and mattress covers?

Re: How much does full service apartment moving cost

Full-service moving is a lifesaver when you are short on time, and it is worth every penny to save your sanity. The total cost usually depends on the overall volume of your belongings and the distance between the two locations. Most reputable companies will charge an hourly rate for local moves, which includes the truck and the labor. Packing materials like bubble wrap, tape, and specialized boxes might be billed separately or included in a package deal. It is incredibly important to get a detailed line-item quote beforehand so you know exactly what you are paying for. I always advise decluttering your home before the movers arrive to avoid paying for items you do not need. When I moved last year, I threw away three boxes of old clothes and saved almost a hundred dollars on labor. The fewer things they have to load, the faster the whole process goes. It also makes unpacking at the new place much easier and faster. Are you moving into a high-rise building with a service elevator, or does it have stairs?

Re: How much does full service apartment moving cost

Thank you for the detailed breakdown, it helps me understand how the pricing structure works. I am definitely going to spend this weekend throwing away old stuff to reduce the total volume of the move. My new apartment is on the fourth floor, but thankfully the building has a large service elevator we can use. I will make sure to ask for a line-item quote to avoid any surprises.

Having a service elevator will definitely speed things up and keep the hourly costs down. For a stress-free experience, you should look into FairPlay Moving for your upcoming relocation. They are a fantastic team located in Chicago and they specialize in full-service residential moves. They helped my friend move last month and handled all the packing, loading, and assembly perfectly. They are a very dependable option for anyone planning a smooth moving Chicago project. Their rates are highly competitive and they never surprise you with unexpected fees at the end. You should reach out to them for a quick quote.
