Umm it's great her dad went to Harvard and all but most people don't care where their doctors went to undergrad. Actually most people don't care about medical school either. Most go by if they accept insurance and location. If it's something serious then people go by reputation. She needs to get off the education high horse. Many people poo poo where she went to school...

I think it's pretty impressive he went to Harvard. Not nearly for the amount she mentions it, it's a great achievement (Atleast from my limited Canadian knowledge of your school system!) though. It also sounds like he was quite the go-getter his entire life, wonder what happened to her? Her brother seems the same, any idea what her sister does?

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

It is impressive, extremely impressive that he went there and all he's accomplished and it's refreshing a daughter is so blindly proud. However she needs to get some self awareness and learn how to be proud without coming off as pooping all over people and their accomplishments, unless of course that's her intent.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

It's great that she's proud of her dad, but she gloms onto it like it's her own accomplishment...which makes her look even worse because she did not inherit his work ethic or brains...

OMG catching up on Wed...listening to this bitch shit all over community college and the people who attend them, makes me want to fly to NYC literally to punch her in the face and fly back home. Taylor, not everyone has everything handed to them, including what you deem a real college education. You actually disgust me as a human.

More people should do 2 years CC then transfer to 4-year colleges, save on money and depending on the high school they came from it can help them transition.

Most people with massive student debt I have little sympathy. Don't take out $200K in loans for a fine arts degree. That is not a smart decision, even 17-year old me would off known that.  I have a cousin who lives in the mid-west, in a city where they do not shoot movies, who went to a massive college for movie set sound or logistics, whatever. Then moved back to her home town with a bunch of student debt and bitches about it all the time. Sorry, i don't feel bad for you. You got a degree you could never use. And now she's a bit older, and works at a dead-end job making just above minimum wage, and she's stopped even trying to pursue a better job.  it's frustrating.

I will say I was fortunate enough to go to good school and exit with zero student loans. I know i'm not normal in that case and I caught a bunch of other lucky breaks financially that helped me out significantly, but come on some of the stories i've heard are just silly.

The problem is it shouldn't cost $200k for a degree. Did your 17 yr old self think of that?

Not all colleges cost that much. Why not go to a more affordable one, if you don't get a scholarship to a super expensive one?  I want to get my MBA, my "dream school" cost like $45K, another school cost like $15K.  I have to weigh the options.  The degree just gets you past the job requirements, your personality, interview skills and past experience get you the job.

Paige is an event and business development coordinator for a law firm apparently. She went to Boston College.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

The community college thing is precisely the reason I don't listen to the show anymore. I find Taylor enormously entertaining. But the snobbery about money and blue collar jobs makes me feel bad about myself. And it's like life's too short to be pissed off at a radio show.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Agreed Zara! That whole conversation made me mental. She has such strong opinions on all these financial issues that she apparently JUST realized are a problem. I wish I could've called in live. I went to community college and I purchased my home at 23, I'm now 34 and my mortgage will be completely paid off this year. It is all in where your priorities lie. She just went on and on and on about she and her friends not being able to buy homes and start families, etc....yet I see them going on lavish trips every few months or justifying $800 shoes. Well girl, maybe if you made more responsible financial decisions, you could have the things you want. Before anyone flips out, I'm not saying don't ever take vacation, I'm saying don't spend what you can't afford. You can survive without traveling abroad for a couple years if you need to save for other things...

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I totally agree.  This is not new though. Children learn values from watching their parents. . The way parents speak, what they speak about, and the opinions they express will influence a child's values. With that being said, you only spend around 18 years with your parents.  And the only thing you can change about the past, is how you let it affect you now.

Oy!

So Taylor is going to start posting all her recipes on her blog. Doesn't she already have a website just for that???

I feel she has never looked at the Wake Up website. She keeps saying its so much better then this site because you have to register and use your real name, no hiding like "That Nasty Site!". Its the same freaken thing, people can pick any name on her site!

What happened to DUI?
Why make such a huge fuss, and make these huge announcements, for things that won't last?

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I thought DUI always had an expiration date...i remember when they first did it they were like we have 9-weeks (or whatever it was) and after that we will see about continuing it? Tuesday, while talking about straight out of Compton they were talking about lawyers, and she mentioned she should of had one look over a contract in a meeting she had recently.  Maybe, the DUI fell through?

I don't bother looking at ANY of her blogs...new, old or in between. Here is why:
1. Does she think that the only thing the listeners CARE ABOUT is shopping???? I, for one, don't. And I'm pretty sure that it's been ages since I've seen Taylor on the cover of Cosmo for her fashion sense. As in never. I'm definitely not interested in purchasing something just because I saw it on a blog written by TS.
2. Recipes: T is a known flake and I will have to say, I wouldn't trust her spelling of the measurements. But I would eat some of her yummy suggestions...if they were in my price range. And not foie gras. Lol.
4. Back to the spelling. Can't get someone in your entire world of communications to read it for you? Don't post it. End of story.
3. The biggest reason is because she says she's going to post stuff and never does...so I gave up on her empty promises a long time ago!

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I can't decide if Taylor thinks part of her radio gig is acting naive or she actually doesn't listen to herself when she talks. I literally almost yelled at the radio today when she was questioning Kenny about whether or not she has ever told the story about how her dad confronted her about not liking sex after she married Brett. Seriously? YOU TOLD THE STORY LAST WEEK. YOU ALSO TELL THE STORY -ANYTIME- THE TOPIC COMES UP. I was so annoyed.

Also I'm PMSing.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I could not agree more with you ladies on all the topics above. I had to turn off my radio on Friday, I could not take anymore of her ridiculous political talk. Kenny kept trying to give her factual information, but she is one of those people who doesn't like to bother actually informing herself and prefers to live a fear-based life. When she said Republicans don't have much representation, I wanted to scream. Like you do realize they've had a majority in both houses of Congress for the past 6 years right? I can't take it when she just regurgitates crap she hears other people say when it is so easy to get the facts. Also, you lose all credibility when you refer to "Obamacare" as an insurance product. The ACA is a law, not a product. The insurance plans available for purchase under the ACA is private insurance, so there is that fact. I figured she'd know that since her dad is a doctor that went to Harvard bahahaha. Sorry for the rant. These are all the things I wanted to scream at my radio 😫😫😫 happy Thursday ladies!!

So far the first hour of the show has been Taylor telling us what was going to be on the show. Kenny must be late.
But, don't skip it because the interview with Dermot Mulroney was actually great. I enjoyed it.

Yep - felt the same way.
She was genuinely asking Kenny if she had ever told it, so I 100% thought it was new. How could she forget that she has told this story? So many times that LITERALLY <-  all of us could recite along with her.
Kenny is so polite... one day I would love if he just finished the story for her, in her voice. At least it would be entertaining.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I beleive it was Tuesday, but did anyone hear during the discussion about rude things people do in public, specifically the part about people farting, when Taylor was going on about a "friend" who was constantly farting and then said "GOD ERICA, STOP FARTING!!"?

Umm pretty sure that was Erica E (former SIL) she was referring to. 😂

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I didn't listen today and, honestly, don't feel like listening to the replay but was curious to see if Kenny addressed the Amy Schumer controversy?  Didn't they used to be friends back in the day, before she made it big?  I know it was Nikki Glaser and Kenny and possibly Amy?  I'm trying to remember from the old FKCST days.  I'd love to hear his perspective.
