Cohost/Kenny/Taylor

I don't ever recall Kenny having a "guest" host when Taylor's away...Taylor always has someone else.  Do you think it's cause Kenny doesn't "need" to have someone?  Though he has Katie the producer & Steph before her.  Loved Steph.  I like Katie but she doesn't seem to have the on air energy Steph did.  Or am I way off base?

Re: Cohost/Kenny/Taylor

Kenny has had guest hosts in the past. Comedian friends. I remember Greg sitting in-I can't think of other names off the top of my head. It has been a while though.

Re: Cohost/Kenny/Taylor

I'm loving Katie on air!! (I liked Steph on occasion too, but I feel like she tried too hard to mimic T sometimes) It's a nice break from all the screeching and incoherent rambling/flight of ideas that is Tay's MO. I think Katie has very thoughtful and intelligent opinions and comments. Great show so far today šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ‘šŸ¼

Re: Cohost/Kenny/Taylor

Kenny has had Greg in lots (not sure if he's not a morning person, he always sounded drunk to me though) and Wider has co-hosted a few times.

Ha, ha. I loved Greg as a co host. I find him so smart and funny. I used to listen to him on Cosmo radio when he was on in the evenings.

I liked him at night as well, maybe mornings just weren't his thing! I do like him & Kenny together, I always felt like he had just wandered out of a bar and into the studio in the morning though lol

Re: Cohost/Kenny/Taylor

I can't stand Katie's voice on air. It's too soft, she doesn't enunciate, her words roll together, and she always sounds very 'blah' and flat, maybe that's just her personality.

Agreed. For me, her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Maybe I'm crazy but the way she pronounces her "s"s bugs the crap out of me. And once when she was on air she told Kenny she thought he was "calm, cool, and collective." She lost me there.

Re: Cohost/Kenny/Taylor

She's said a few things that lead me to believe that she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
She also called subway cars subway carts-I can't think of any other examples, but I've noticed a number of verbal blunders.

Yes. This. She seems sweet as pie. Probably great at her job (who the hell can keep those two in line??) but fairly "blah." Probably hard to light a fire under. Definitely not a rocket scientist. I do like that she has an opinion that she's not afraid to give. But a little is fine. I don't think I could do weeks of her. BRING ON WIDER!!!!!!

Re: Cohost/Kenny/Taylor

She said something else when she was on yesterday that I was like "Really?!" I'm frustrated I can't remember what it was! I did the exact same when she called the subway cars carts. I'm from the midwest, been on a subway twice in my life, and even I know what it's called. lolĀ

Loved Sam as cohost on Wednesday. And Wider's story about the kid yanking on his wang. OMG, she's such a hilarious storyteller!

I heard the subway carts. lol but cute.Ā  but if u've ever ridden DC metro during rush hour, u kinda feel u r in a cart.Ā I like anything that's a change.Ā  she was fine for my evening rush hour drive home (XM replay).Ā  calmed me down especially while I sat in KFC drive thru for 45 mins

I like Katie much more than Ateph on air. Steph gave me this impression that she wanted to come off air headed.

Re: Cohost/Kenny/Taylor

Steph tried way too hard. I always got the feeling she annoyed Kenny whenever they were on air together. Oh and speaking of Katie's mispronounced words, remember when Steph thought the phrase was "rocking the cradle" instead of "robbing the cradle"?

Re: Cohost/Kenny/Taylor

Kenny did nuts or not.  He said he was sitting w/Duke when Chelsea came home and said "to Duke" "I don't know why Daddy's so tired after sleeping all day yesterday" - Kenny said he questioned her, she said he was too sensitive & she was kidding.  Dr Wider said that was a passive aggressive dig for sure & Chelsea should speak directly to Kenny instead of "projecting"....

They both did nuts or not. Ā Kenny's was Chelsea talks through the dog/baby and said something like idk why daddy is tired he slept all day. Ā But as we all know his last week was crazy with several trips to FL and the show Friday. Ā He though she was being passive aggressive and didn't like it. Wider was upset that her children were not invited to her BIL's destination wedding. Then some crazy caller called in (sounded like an older lady) and was basically said Wider is a problem of the entitlement era. Ā And Wider got PISSSSEEED. Ā I'm torn about Wider's situation, i don't like kids at weddings, but as she pointed out this BIL only has like 4 nieces/nephews so why not invite them? and its a destination wedding, so where do you leave your kids?Ā

Re: Cohost/Kenny/Taylor

Piopio- that caller was a bit "rude" but some places resorts don't allow children at All (some under 16,  18, some under 21) she didn't even check.  I've joked w/the hubs the same way & he just thinks I'm a wise ass.  Chelsea probably shrugged it off

Re: Cohost/Kenny/Taylor

Thanks! I rarely listen anymore, but will try and listen to this one!

I get the no kids at weddings. If its black tie and you know some of the kids are little brats (also wedding timing is not great for kids, lots of waiting, sitting around) I see not wanting them. Although I was at a very black tie wedding a few weeks ago and the couples daughter was there through dinner. She had a little push toy and was rolling that through the tables during dinner. She is one of those really smiley, sweet, chat with everyone little kids and was fun to see her playing in her big dress I've also been to ones where kids pulled the table cloth along with everything else off the head table and another knocked part of the wedding cake over.

I think for a small wedding, a casual wedding, a destination wedding (maybe not Vegas!) kids make it fun! Maybe because I have a super close family, I couldn't imagine the little people not being a part of it.

For Kenny & Chelsea, I don't know that its fair him bringing that stuff up on air. Maybe if she had been there, its hard with only one side though. It could have been totally PA, she could have also just been joking, and him being tired/grouchy took it the wrong way.

I do usually think that sort of thing is pretty passive aggressive though.

Re: Cohost/Kenny/Taylor

I'm not saying Chelsea is right by speaking through the baby, lol, but I can relate. When our kids were little my husband traveled constantly, conferences, meetings, etc.. he would come home so exhausted telling me how stressful it was and not fun Ā sleeping in hotels. Then I would hear the stories of partying and being up late. Couldn't have been that miserable while I'm home with babies. Maybe hearing Kenny on air drinking and talking about all the food and drink is starting to rub her the wrong way when she's been home with the baby and also works full time. Also, they kept talking about how well the three of them get along and were always together. Ā I really do understand. Chelsea seems like a trooper, but I'm sure things get under her skin as well.

I think i'm talking about a different caller...that one about the resort being adults only is spot on, but like wider said, if that is the case why not just say that instead of the speculation? The one i'm talking about started talking about everyone gets a trophy and wider is feeling entitled to have her kids there. Ā

I wanted to go no kids for my wedding but my mother told me that was not an option, i had like 20 kids that ended to be invited. Ā It ended up not being a problem. Ā I just kept telling my parents that the children invited did not count toward my budget since i didn't want them there anyway. Ā

my guess is chels was half serious, half joking. and I think talking thru the baby is just a way to let the words land softer because Kenny is sensitive.Ā I think wider's advice was too heavy fisted.Ā I think the bigger point is I don't think either Kenny or chels want their marriage, specifically marital mishaps to become the fodder for this or other forums.Ā  he's always been so private and also protective of his wife.Ā  maybe he felt pressure to divulge since Tay (our chief divulger was away.Ā  IDK.

Re: Cohost/Kenny/Taylor

I usually love Dr. Wider, but I think she was being cuckoobird crazypants about her kids and her brother-in-laws wedding. This convo reminded me of Mombie's who cannot see that their kids are not the center of everyone else's universe. She even said "Piper would be the star of the show!". Um, it's someone's wedding, the BRIDE is the star of the show. She also said she has major personal issues with her husband's family so I think she can't see logic and reason in this situation, but she is dead wrong.

Re: Cohost/Kenny/Taylor

I don't know Chelsea's personality, so it'd be hard to make an accurate judgement on her comment about Kenny sleeping, but I'd assume passive aggressive too. I think anyone would.
