Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

i was actually out of my office Thursday and Friday and got an email that required me to contact someone around the world, them do some work and revert back to me.  So i was like fuck, guess i'm drunk emailing people because business has to get done.

Friday's show regarding emails...what were your thoughts?? someone said a week to respond! WTF kind of business do you work in!! Tay is in a fluid business that things get planned on the fly...i'm assuming she needed headshots and a blurb for that thing her, nicole and the other girl are doing. That seems like it was quickly planned and therefore needed a quick response.

I'm actually listening to this right now, sitting at my desk (fuming!) because I haven't heard back from my IT Dept on an email I sent last Thursday. Seriously?!?! 24-hrs max...it's not about instant gratification, it's about being freaking professional and not wasting other people's time. Me getting my work done is dependent on you answering my question/doing your part, etc. aaaagghhh I'm so annoyed!!

PS...seems like they just cut and pasted pic/bio from any of her half-assed online ventures...no offense, but girlfriend really needs some new photos and is LONG overdue for a new bio. "Uplifting women one self-deprecating story at a time." Gag. If she is supposed to be uplifting to women, leave me on the damn floor!

LOL! I'll stay down there with you. Totally agree on the new bio thing - if for no other reason than most of them need to be proof read.

Did anyone else get annoyed early on in the show where she was judging Amy Schumer for tipping someone $1000?  Why does she have to chastise people who give back?   She did this to Taylor Swift too for giving Kesha money.

She claims they set the bar too high for her, saying that when she gets that famous she won't be doing that.  No one asked you too, but can you just take a second to appreciate that some people genuinely are grateful for the level of success they have been blessed with and want to share some of what they have given with others who don't have as much.

I am not saying that some of it isn't opportunistic when famous people do this kind of stuff, but not everyone has an angle all the time.  I think the fact that she is always looking for the angle when someone else does something nice for others says a lot about her and the way that she thinks and chooses to act.

I'm not surprised at her response to Amy's $1000 tip. Remember the infamous pizza periscope? She obviously thinks she's above servers/staff. Good luck being famous, Taylor!

No lie that pizza periscope pisses me the hell off especially about her doctor rant....she talks all this high praise about doctors working hard, going to school, putting themselves through college, blah blah blah but will treat wait staff like shit.....wonder if she ever thought those same servers she's treating like shit could be premed students working their way through college..... Or any of the other people she encounters on a day to day basis.... Don't know if this makes sense.... But it's a weird connection I made in my head.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Hey Taylor, you know what’s really feminist? Supporting women in all of their endeavors, whether you personally agree with it or not.

I am SO tired of hearing her “beauty shame” women. The discussion about pageants yesterday really set me off- I’ve never done pageants and don’t really get into watching them on TV, but if that is what a girl/woman wants to do, more power to her.

I really hate that the feminist narrative has turned into its own set of restrictions on women. Isn’t feminism really about giving women the power to choose? How is chastising a woman who chooses to participate in a beauty pageant, be a stay at home mom, or take pride in her appearance any different than chastising a woman 30 years ago who chose to have a career instead of a family? What is so wrong about owning and celebrating your femininity?

Taylor saying that women are “taken advantage of” in situations like beauty pageants is quite possibly the LEAST feminist thing she could ever say. The implication is that women are stupid and don’t have minds of their own. Has it ever occurred to her that maybe some women actually enjoy these things and made an informed decision to participate, whatever their reasons may be?

The cherry on top is how spectacularly inarticulate Taylor is for someone who speaks for a living. Here she is going on and on about how women are worth more than their appearance, all the while sounding like an absolute buffoon (hair girth…?). You tell ‘em, Tay. Poster child for feminism.

Sorry, I know people have called her out on the feminist thing before but I just finished yesterday’s show and it really pissed me off. End rant.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Isn't being a feminist kind of like being classy? If you say you are, you're not. Let your actions and deeds speak for you. What actions has Taylor specifically gone out of her way to take that support her view of herself as a feminist? Who is she mentoring, where is she giving back, how is she making room in her life to study, learn, grow?

Oh - wait. She's not.

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

I can barely keep up with her non-sensical logic. Doctors are all over worked and underpaid, but a server making $2.13 an hour (that is server wage in my state) is a freeloader just looking for a handout? Am I living in fucking bizarro-land?? And that caller wondering how this ties into the political climate, I would say that they both are demonizing the wrong group of people. Why are we berating workers who are just doing their job in the economic reality that we are currently living in? If you don't want to have to tip these people, then we as a society need to demand that their employers pay them a wage they can survive on, instead of using their customers to subsidize their employee's salaries.

I totally agree.  I have no idea what Taylor said this time, but she seems to have such a narrow minded and simplistic view of what is going on with the wage gap.  It is so complicated, and all I have ever heard her mourn for is herself and doctors.  I don't think either are really struggling when it comes to the basic necessities of life, like some people.

The callers about vacationing in Cuba...I can't even...the first one who said it was the safest place ever? Her family must be cozy with the Castro's because from what i've heard if you speak out against them you get cuffed and stuffed (similar to Kenny's relative) also, it is outdated, i saw on the news that currently only 10% of people have access to the internet!!! but apple is supposedly going to come in a give them more access to wifi.

Not sure where in Cuba you have travelled to, but both Veradero and Holguin are incredibly safe. Punishment for crime against a tourist is worse then for most other crimes. I've been numerous times and never once thought of safety, as a bunch of women we were walking from our hotel and back to clubs/bars along the strip in Veradero and nothing but positive experiences.

The Cuban people are incredibly generous, we were invited to numerous people's homes for a meal that we met while on tours.

The only downfall may be the food as they don't have access to a lot of spices and stuff, it's all incredibly fresh though and I never had a problem with it. Obviously not comparible with what most of eat at home, or think of as resort food, but I would never describe it as disgusting.

I've travelled most of the world (haven't been to the bottom of South America or a lot of the Middle East) and Cuba is always one of the first places I recommend for people looking for a holiday where they want to interact with people and see some history.

Also now that travel is open between the US and Cuba I expect it to only get safer and more "touristy" (for better or worse). I want to go so badly.

It's Elizabeth BANKS who starred in Hunger Games, etc.  NOT Elizabeth Smart - she was the young girl who was kidnapped!  Big difference....anyone else notice she kept saying wrong name?!?!

UGGGH! Yes! When she said it the first time I let it go but she repeated the wrong name multiple times. I don't know how Kenny or Katie didn't correct her. Very annoying.
They both get so much wrong when it comes to celebrities/movies/tv. With the internet at their fingertips, there really is no excuse. When they can't think of an actor's name or a movie someone was in I LITERALLY yell at the radio to just look it up.

The worst is when she looks to kenny for a name of a movie or person, or even a word. He has never once been able to come up with an answer. Stop asking him, he has no clue!

Re: Today's Show! (not actually *today*)

Yes!!! At first I thought she meant Amy Smart. And then she had me doubting myself that maybe it was Elizabeth Smart that was in Hunger Games, 30 Rock, etc. But then again I was pretty sure Elizabeth Smart was the girl who got kidnapped. I was so confused. Someone definitely should have corrected her.

Good Friday is not considered a federal holiday.  schools out Friday and Monday but for businesses, it's business as usual
