I just wish Kenny would read the 7 things ahead of time, so he wouldn't stumble through them not having any idea what he's saying.
Today the 7 things were the worst. He mumbled through them, didn't have the facts straight, left more questions than answered. I love Kenny but this was the worst. If he just googled the stories especially about the Whitehouse and skimmed through them he would have known more. It is almost as if Katie gives him the stories right before he goes on air.

I really feel like The 7 Things is a time filler. I don't mind the when they do it in the first hour, but to repeat it two more times?!?! Overkill. If you're trying to fill time, at least do different stories in each 7 Things.

Victoria did a great job with them, they were always different each hour and replayed throughout the day. These are just a list off MSNs homepage or Facebook's trending section.

I totally miss Victoria-her delivery, her intelligence. She elevated the show, in my opinion. I feel like Kenny mails it in every day.

I don't even think Katie does THAT much! (Not that I'm knocking her....) One of the many things I've noticed that's increasingly happening and is annoying AF is Kenny saying, "My computer is frozen," right in the middle of a semi-story in 7 Things. I find myself yelling at the radio, "With the amount of money the listeners pay Sirius, why can't they buy a gosh-damn computer that works???"
Almost as annoying as that...??? When K is mid-story and figures out he read it wrong and suddenly it's a completely different story. Sometimes he even says, "Ooops, never mind." WTH???
Offline
Whenever he says "my computer is frozen" i just think of when you're on call with customer service or whatever and the people are like bear with me for a minute. and then i get irrationally mad, like whose computer freezes up that much.
Offline
I understand that computers freeze. I get frustrated because K could have all those stories pulled up already, so he wouldn't have to worry about it freezing!

At the very least, pre read them so that you have a clue what the stories are about.

Agree to what everyone is saying about the seven things! Didn't they used to be different every hour? Before Kenny went on paternity leave? It seems like the guests they had on in his place started using the same ones for all three hours so Kenny realized he could get away with it too.

WWAAAYYY back in the day they were different. But it's been like this for years, I think. It was way before he left for paternity leave, that's for sure.

i know diff people tune in each hour but when I'm doing playback, I just mute thru the 7 things. maybe just the headlines after the first hour. but maybe its a time-filler. maybe the same 3 most important and then 4 different ones. oh boy, I've had too much coffee

I am pretty sure this changed when Steph left, but it goes back to the repetition of the show. I haven't been listening the last week, but if they did a good job with the 7 things, I think it could set a better tone for the show.

If I hear Tay say "egalitarian" one more time... AGH!
Offline
I can't take her saying "basic bitch tv" anymore!!!
Offline
It's been said but I'm just starting to notice it more but eating in air. It's so annoying and rude, we can hear you! There are breaks you could eat then. She was talking w Wider today and I was like how inconsiderate and it makes her seem like she doesn't give a sh!t.
I also agree w basic bitch tv....1. She actually learned stuff from this 2. It's your damn house if you hate it and complain so much change the channel.

I fast forward through the 7 things. Boring. But I think even Taylor and kenny think they're boring.
Offline
I FF through Fat Kid Friday most of the time now. Between the eating noises and the infomercial feel, it's not worth it.
I'd much rather it be Kennys wing recipes or cauliflower pizza crust he was talking about. he could bring it in, they all try it then Instagram it or whatever. Listeners could try to recreate the recipe and tag the show in their attempts.

I never want to hear Tay retell stories about Brett, and refer to him as an ex boyfriend or "a guy she used to date". Grow up. He has a name, call him Brett or your ex husband. It not only insults our intelligence as listeners, but I also find it disrespectful to Brett. She told a completely innocuous story today about cooking clam linguine for an "ex bf". Why not just say it was Brett-it doesn't disparage him in any way, and I've heard the story enough times to know it was him.

THIS. I don't know why she INSISTS on doing this. How many different exes that she lived with/met her parents/ etc. does she think we'll believe? Aside from the stories about the actor she dated before Brett, the one in HS her parents made her break up, and a few stories about college, ALL THE STORIES INVOLVE BRETT. AND ITS OK. The story about your brother and the couch, the stories about "not getting along with an ex's family", you tell the same stories over and over WE KNOW WHEN THEYRE ABOUT BRETT BECAUSE YOU HAVE USED HIS NAME IN THEM PREVIOUSLY. ITS FINE. what's annoying is when you try to trick people who have been listening to you talk about your life for almost a decade.

I have a feeling she's not "allowed" to - I can see that being part of their divorce agreement. I don't mind it.

I'm listening to Friday's show and I cannot believe how many times she can tell and retell the story about a "girl she knows" that dated a guy in college and then her sister hooked up with him and now they're married.
I don't know how Kenny hears these stories over and over and is able to react to them without blowing his brains out. I would be so drained.

I agree with you. I think it's legal. toward the end of their marriage, tay didn't represent him very respectfully. I kinda felt sorry for him. no man wants to be around his friends and others and be openly known as sex-starved. I too have no problem with it

I listen to the show more during week as elevator music or during my drive time. new listeners are joining constantly (hopefully) and they're hearing our old stories for the first time. when Kenny told the story about a month ago about riding on the train and dreaming there was a girl selling lemonade in the aisle, I split my sides laughing. turns out he'd told the story before. but for me it was my first time. and anytime I want to make myself laugh, I recall him telling the guy sitting next to him, "gotta get me some of that lemonade." I'm laughing now even as I write it

I definitely think there is more to this story. I know someone where the same situation occurred. Only to find out the real story that the younger sister and this guy went out on a date but only kissed. So who knows what really happened in the situation T is presenting. We all know Taylor exaggerates everything and never has her facts straight.

Agree. I don't believe any of the stories she tells about this family. They could all be great people for all we know.

It could be a legal thing about not directly identifying someone on the radio. But I also think that Taylor still tries to appeal to a young audience. And it feels more light and youthful to say my ex boyfriend instead of ex husband. I also think Taylor caters to new listeners more than old. Which is annoying. We need new stories!! She MUST have some. I guess old stories are easier to tell because she's got it down. But she only works 3 hours a day. How hard is it to come up with new material? They used to do new fresh stuff every day on the show. I don't get why it's changed.

Actually They're only on air for 2hrs with 1hr for spots.

Does anyone know how long she stays after the show is over or what time she arrives before the show begins? Curious how much time is put in to prepping for that day or the next day's show. I know she said she goes home and sleeps or shops.

I've always wondered this too. Yesterday when they were talking about Taylor not being the same off air as on, Kenny said something to the effect of 'Taylor is here at 6:30 cheering us on and getting us ready to go.' So it sounds like 6:30am is the time they get there. I have no idea when they leave though. It may depend on whether they have an interview, meetings etc.
I used to work at a radio station and the talent would leave a few hours after they were off the air. I don't know if that is the norm though. They would put in about 2 hours less than a normal 8 hr day, but also had to do appearances, etc. on the weekends. We all know Taylor doesn't do that. Kenny does though with his stand up.

I've never listened to the beginning of the show until they moved to 7. To me, it always sounds like everyone is just running in at the start. The 7 things seems to take longer to start. Maybe someone else is in the studio before though and they have to wait for them to get out?
