I had to register to comment about this "retreat." I have listened to the show for 9.5 years, since Taylor was on with Jim (anyone remember him?) So I am a pretty loyal listener. But $1000 for champagne and to hang out with Carin and Taylor for a weekend? Unbelievable. I started following the Tone It Up girls a few years ago, after Steph talked about them. They are doing a retreat in Miami this weekend. It's $2400, which is totally outrageous, but at least they are delivering something! For that price participants get their hotel, food, and some cool experiences, like a yacht party. And some nice swag bags. $1000 to sit on the beach and listen to Carin do guided meditation?!? No thanks.

Sirius 109- that's too funny because I just registered for the same reason! I read these forums a lot but never commented until now. I live in FL and was wondering how much the retreat would be since I could drive to Miami. It's only about 4 hours from me. It's $1097 unless u register today! And nothing is included!! And let me tell you, Miami hotels are not known for their good deals. Even if the rooms are affordable, there are always resort fees and parking fees and taxes on top of the room price each day. I've never been a fan of Miami because it's such a rip off. I don't see the value of $1100 for this. Some group exercises with Carin and some breakfast and lunch? I was thinking maybe 500 if they provided dinner! If someone had to fly in, they would end up spend 3 or 4 grand for two nights! Seems really pricey to me.

Carin and Taylor must really think highly of themselves to think they're worth that much money. I would never pay that. I would never spend a grand to hang out with Taylor to hear the same stories over and over. And did you hear how frustrated she got with Carin when she was trying to stop Taylor from spiraling out of control over "you're a bad friend" story? Could you imagine Taylor boozed up? Wait-- maybe it'll be worth it. Haha

She was SCREAMING and spiraling during the SAME damn 'bad friend' story. She is fucking crazy!! CALM THE FUCK DOWN!. And Carin was talking over and like a child, Taylor was screaming louder and getting more upset. She's a fucking 4 year old. Then she threaten to turn off Carin's mike. WHAT???
i hate when Taylor gets THAT riled up. That thing she does where she ramps up and ramps up and repeats and screams and can't breath. I hate it so much! After, she always makes weird sounds. Its so annoying.

Yes, it was ridiculous, but I felt like Carin was at fault for trying to over talk her. It's Tay's show after all, and when someone says let me finish, for god's sake, just let them finish.

While I have no intention of going on the weekend get away, i don't think it is an absurd about of money to be asking for, Carin did something similar in Paris and it was like $3k. Silent yoga retreats can cost an arm and a leg to sit in silence, like wtf. It just depends on what you find value in.

also, when you break it down into an hourly rate for each of them, not excluding the expenses of what they would provide it's not that much.

Maybe i'm jaded with the cost of professional expenses, but it doesn't seem that out of line.

Even if Carin's services are worth that much money, how the hell will she get a word in with Taylor there? I highly doubt anyone can gain anything out of this with Taylor selfishly making everything about her. And since she used to vacation there in her previous life, she will be reminded of the SIL more often, sparking more crazy outbursts.
I know that IRL, based on the pizza periscope and the flirting with the married man story, we would NOT get along. And throw alcohol in the mix? No way.

Is TD going? I could see that.

I was going crazy at that point in the show! Who throws that much of a tantrum?? She's an adult and I've seen children handle their anger better. It's her show but she was doing the opposite of what Carin was there to say. I'm not too fond of Carin but she means well and tries to give stay balance. I was astounded when I heard her get so mad and flip out just so she could say something she's talked about a dozen times!! If she and said friend are over it (like she said) then stfu and let it go, obviously she hasn't. I just couldn't believe how she acted it was so off putting.

I could justify spending that money if it was going to be a huge retreat for the weekend with someone like Tony Robbins who actually has some following and can back up the price . I looked Carin up on social media and she barely has 400 followers (half which are wake up with Taylor fans) and her website looks like it was made by the same person who did the wake up website. It's god awful. I think the price is pretty steep for not offering meals besides lunch and breakfast which will just be a cheap bagel spread and sandwiches. Ughh the whole thing really bothers me. It's insulting to your listeners that you think we are that dumb and would pay that much. And clearly you don't know or care about what your audience wants. Just whatever will give you a quick paycheck.
