But can anyone remember why she felt so uncomfortable getting her breakfast way back in the day when she used to get egg white omelettes? I swear I thought it was because she felt uncomfortable with a guy in the cafe who would compliment her.

I think as uncomfortable as she is with anything sex related that she would spin a harmless flirtation into something more. I don't say that to minimize her feelings about it because she was clearly uncomfortable. I just don't think it takes much to make her uncomfortable.

Just have to point out, back when she still did TayTV, she had an episode on how she almost got fired when interviewing Justin Bieber. Spoiler alert, she didn’t almost get fired, she did a shitty interview and pissed off his management and he refused to take a picture with her. Her boss came up and told her that Bieber wasn’t going to take a picture with her and she translated that in her story to almost getting fired. So yes... our girl sometimes stretches the truth to make her stories more grand...

I forgot about TayTV! Add that to the list of failed ventures.

so....on that list we have...Taylor's Closet (which I kinda understood not doing it), Taylor's blog, The WUWT website made by Matt and the forum, TayTV, Taylor and Ed videos, her numerous FB pages and social media platforms, Peri-scoping on Tuesdays (remember when that was a thing?)...there's so much.

Re: FB is 🍌🍌🍌

Just read this on the support page (where everyone has lost their minds)

"So something interesting...
just listening to Jenny McCarthy Show and she brought up her new drink ‘Blondies’ and under her breath she said ‘I’m kinda afraid to plug anything now’
I totally think she was referring to Taylor plugging the trip and then getting fired."

I’m coming to Tays defense on this.....

She’s talked about the shoulder kiss & butt/penis hug multiple times and pretty consistently over the years.

She’s also always said it was a co-worker. That he wasn’t a boss but had some pull in the company.

Also if the flirtation or touching was not asked for, and it genuinely made her uncomfortable that is harassment. Don’t excuse away her experience as her “misunderstanding” what the guy’s intentions were.  And even though you say you’re not trying to minimize her feelings, you very much are by trying to qualify that she has low threshold for tolerance.

Ok, you have completely misunderstood/misconstrued what I wrote. There is no need to defend Tay as I said nothing against her. If anyone has something happen to them unsolicited and inappropriate, it is 1000% harassment. My point was I think Taylor has a lower comfort threshold than others so her story of harassment may not seem to be to others. It still is and I never said it wasn't.

Yet Taylor brought Carin on the show as a "Happiness Guru" and led listeners to believe this was a legit person to listen to.  IF her business didn't take off until WUWT exposure, then she was a nobody when she started on the show. Sheds a lot more light on that hard push for webinars & retreats. It wasn't solely Taylor trying to make $ off listeners, but Carin pushing it more than I ever thought she was.

Great Taste- this isn’t about Ed (yet) but since you have a background in psychology... is there some type of syndrome or condition where people actually start to believe someone is their very, very best friend when they’ve only listened to them on the radio for 1-10 years and never really met them IRL? I’m curious if that’s why all of the FB people are acting batshit crazy... they truly believe she is their best friend. (Well, and the way she treats her friends; never calls or texts them; goes out with them; etc. they might as well be one! They are treated the same!)

As for Ed... did anyone hear her describe Ed to Carly last Friday— (or maybe it was earlier...It was before the Wine and Food Festival)? I thought he was happily married?? She told Carly that he was going to be a ‘dirty man’ and say things to her that she would need to just ignore. That’s just Ed. Carly made the comment that it was the Wine and Food Festival, not the Wine and Flirt Festival! Taylor made it sound like Ed was really creepy.

You could classify it as delusional thinking. In actuality, as I understand it, our brains react similarly when we hear a familiar person on the radio or TV the same as when we see our friends. I read a study about this once. Not sure of the complete details.

However, I would say that what it really is is the defense mechanism splitting, where the ego needs to make something all good or all bad. We all do it to an extent to avoid cognitive dissonance (when our thoughts/feelings/attitudes don't match), but some do it more than others. This is why being able to delve in to ambiguity and nuance is so important, while black and white thinking can be so detrimental.

I think if you look around at pop culture and beyond a lot of people are looking for someone to idolize, potentially due to a lack of a model in childhood or not feeling sure of who they are and feeling a need to feel like there is something/someone that is entirely good in the world. Additionally, a lot of people feel the need to scapegoat, as you can see with the people who want people to leave the chatroom in certain places (they put the blame on someone who is bringing up fair criticisms instead of on Taylor where it belongs).

Both of these things are ways of misplacing love/hate most likely from other areas in their life where they have unresolved conflicts and haven't really worked through everything.

Your question may have been hypothetical, but that is my analysis

Persistent unwanted flirtation is harassment. The persistent part is required. And none of us knows what really happened, so no. I'm not saying harassment is okay. She tells lots of stories over and over, that doesn't mean any of them are 100% true.

You’re absolutely incorrect.

Unwanted/1 sided flirtation is harassment.

Just because it falls into a gray area we’ve been conditioned culturally and as a society does not make it any less harassment.

A lot of the posters were stay at home Moms, people who had been through crisis. Taylor was a constant to them, even if not speaking directly to them, she was familiar & comfortable and for the most part could be counted on to be there at the same time each day, or could play her back whenever. Sort of like a kid with a stuffy, or security blanket and now that's been ripped away.
